RUclips is surely much more addicting than any other social media but when you realise consciously that nothing controls you and you can just let go. It can help a lot in getting rid of this scroll cycle.

Yes good point, totally agree. It's really about letting go of things that don't help

This was useful, particularly the frame of Information Addiction. I expect that there are determinants of susceptibility that significantly mediate this response. Specifically, I'm thinking of OCD - which is among the most misdiagnosed mental conditions (meaning you have it, but they think you have ADHD or generalized anxiety or something else).
The best way I can describe it is like when you're at a hotel and turn on something like CNN Headline News, which repeats every 30 minutes. But always with a little information added each cycle, so that you get stuck in a loop, with this overpowering sense that the next dribble of information is going to be super important and you'd better not miss it.
I think RUclips is far more harmful to that segment of the population - and that the segment is much larger than is generally recognized.
    Nice work.

Exactly, that's a good point! It can be a difficult loop to break out of. Constantly clicking the youtube logo and finding new fresh videos. That's why I installed unhook extension.
Thank you for your valuable comment. And pointing out the misdiagnose of OCD

I self reflect and feel all the time very intensely even when I watch RUclips. I can do both.
It is about what content we watch.
And our underlying cognitive functions and how developed and balanced they are that makes this possible or not. And also our ability to process/consume information.
And how much down time we need to store and process it.
I need pretty much no one besides nightly sleep and regular meditation.
I don't watch videos with lots of quick cuts.
I watch to find information. To find the missing pieces to any blind spots I still have.
I don't lose time watching RUclips.
I watch RUclips to relax or in the background. I gain energy by consuming valuable information to me.
Or between sets when I work out.
Or maybe I listen and sing to some RUclips music before bed.
I can also feel incredible instensly while relaxed, I can call forth any emotion I want at any time in any state it is only a breath away, including the lowest of the low and the highest of the high. Some of them may bring me out of that state to another state. But it is still under my control.
I enjoy developing such emotional control because, it is very useful in many applications. Like singing or communicating face to face with someone. Also animals respond very intensely to a persons underlying strong and clear emotion your are using to underpin what you are communicating to them with you body language and voice.
I already do everything you suggest, exercising, working out, doing breath work, cooking epic healthy food. Drinking clean water and breathing clean air. And so much more. There is so many levels to all of this. I constantly find new ones while having a great time doing all the research, experiments and implementations of what I deem to be an interesting new refinement possibility. I have decades old projects I am slowly refining and that will take many more to see its conclusion of.
I have been on this journey for decades and I look forward to see where I will be in a few more.
I have zero feeling of shame for anything I enjoy or benefit from.
I meditate every day, I have no anger against myself. I know I am doing great and I feel great.
My guy, you are totally projecting.
Or you are trying to reach an audience you think is like who you describe.
Your craving for validation is a trap and explain much of your addiction.
I have no validation hunger like that.
If I ever get a sense of those kind of cravings I shut it down right away.
It is your ego trying to fool you and to build up its importance.
I can easily validate myself and my own actions. I gave up any such cravings when I was a little boy, because I recognized it was a weakness. And it could be used to control you. I still use validation on others if they need the boost to make the right decision though.
I understand its use, I am just denying myself it's seductive pleasure. I bet you can guess what else I am denying myself.
    Anyway.
This is why you crave attention on RUclips from others.
    Keep working on it though.
Maybe you can beat that addiction in the end.
It was a fun challenge though.
I am just not your target audience.
