Thanks for this video! I've watched all the big tech channels and reviewers on this laptop and in my opinion the camera angles and lighting you show are so much better. I love how you showcase it in everyday use I was able to get a real feel for the size. I finally decided to buy it to replace a 2019 MacBook 16 after watching your video. Your monitor setup while coding is awesome 🤤
just found your channel love it, cant wait to watch the next video
Omg this vlog was so good it made my day!!! 😭❤️
randomly found out this channel at midnight and really love your setup, keep uploading😄
same lmaooo
gaming is the getaway from continous error messages we get slapped on our faces T_T
Good video Ela! ❤, thinking about buying that laptop, it convinced me 😮
thanks and nice!! getting a new piece of tech is always exciting
Thinking of getting the same laptop too. Thanks for showcasing it hahaha
danggg that laptop is so nice😭
So nice laptop, this color is so cooool.
Hello, good video, the truth is I'm also a student and seeing what your day to day life was like motivated me more to fight for my dream, I hadn't had the opportunity to meet you but I'm glad I did, congratulations on your new laptop, new subscriber ☺
hey fellow student! glad to meet you too and dont give up on your dreams~
great video. carry on
Glad to see you enjoying it, im planning on getti g this laptop as well.
Gaming in school, that's illegal 😂😂
lololol, not when its break time :P
Unless you get caught
my school doesn’t even let us download gaming apps for our laptop… got an rtx 4070 for nothing.
@@xajeo wishing you luck.
@@AdityaKumar-yo8qv thank you bro
Got a Legion 5 last year and it's been holding up well for me & does basically everything I need it to do between design work, gaming etc. Only thing that's a slight downer is that it has a massive power brick(even bigger than the one you got here) so carrying around the device + charger can be annoying at times.
you can use the C170w charger that Lenovo has recently launched to replace that brick
@@longhoang8328 it's not really a priority for me right now and I go long periods where I'm stationary anyway. I can live with the inconvenience of it being heavy for now.
Is the arrows placement an issue when typing? I do a lot of typing and it looks so awkward to me.
@@Aveirah I type a lot on mine & it's never bothered me. The keyboards are particularly nice on a lot of Lenovo laptops & that applies to their Legion lineup as well.
I just recently changed from macbook to legion 7i (black). I’m an IT guy and coding is one of my job. Finally, I can play steam games again… 😅
Is the arrows placement an issue when typing?
@@Aveirah nope
Nice Video
❤❤❤❤❤
Funny enough, I've replaced the 230w brick with a more portable C170W from Lenovo which still can boost legion laptop 100% power. God I love that charger so much. Thank you lenovo
no frickin way. can you send me a link to that?!!?!
@@elacodes youtube doesnt allow me to add any links and I'm also not certain about which region you live in so you can try with "ali express" or "vop tronics" with C170w legion.
@@longhoang8328 and what legion laptop do you use it for?
@@elacodes mine is a R7000 with Ryzen 7 7840H and a 4060. the C170w supports all ranges of Legion laptops so probably yours is supported. However, the thing is, mine needs to be updated with latest bios for the C170 to enable the performance mode (red power button), if not it only runs balance mode. So once you find a retailer selling that charger just ask them whether your laptop is supported ( just in case). BTW, I love your legion white model, it's gorgeous but it's double the price of my legion in Vietnam . I'm quite jealous with you though
From theOverwatch and the office enjoyer like :)
I probably re-watched the office a million times
Hi ElaCodesi want ask a question. There is two screen options for this model. I am also a junior web developer and designer so most important things is color accuracy and i will be prefer 3k resolutions i guess. Whats your opinion about screen?
i am interested in this laptop but how is the battery life? ive only heard bad things about it
Good video
i got the 5i recently like month and a half ago its so far good i switched it on yesterday its pretty good i did a 3 hours of gaming it worked smoothly to decent i guess i'll push it harder tmr so if there are any troubles with the laptop my warranty can cover it anyway great laptop
nice! I found the same with mine (~3 hours of battery life after having applied optimized settings). for gaming though, I definitely recommend keeping it plugged in.
@@elacodes ur right on optimised settings get an approx of 4 hours and 20 minutes of charge without being plugged though for gaming the most preferable is to be plugged in its the more logical and prolonging choice anyway hope u enjoy ur legion spec I'll enjoy mine 😊
im literally going to cry
here, take some tissue
What tools that use to edit this video with background of keyboard reely nice
Nice vlog, cozy background music, enjoyed it,😊
I have a few questions....
i) how is your project related to hayden planetarium,(i lave astronomy and this one of my favourite place. :)
ii)which university you study at.
hello and thank you!
1) it's simply a mock up website. if the hayden planetarium does exist, the assignment is purely for educational learning & not used by them :D
2) it's a local college (in Canada, university and college are two different institutions and different graduate levels)
@@elacodesoh, it's a dummy website.
Please upload more videos about this laptop
hii! what kind of content would you recommend?
@@elacodes the ways you optimize, customize your laptop, gaming test,.... and chill vlog with this laptop
Nice laptop, I am deciding between this one and the G16 but I do really like this white colour and it seems a bit cheaper where I am than the G16
I recommend you the Yoga Pro 9i. It has 32 gigs of ram instead of the 16 of the g16. Also has touchscreen and a higher 3.2k mini-led display (165 hz, better color accuracy), Longer battery life and it is cooler and silent than the g16 and legion 7i. It's also cheaper. (the only downside is that here in the usa it only max up to a 4060)
@@esjaimecotai was considering that laptop too but for where Im from, they offer free monitor, headphones, mouse, backpack and onsite warrantt for the education offer. The price is the same with all the same specs except the screen
How’s the battery life on this model as I am planning to get one for uni. Nice video btw:)
With optimized settings and light usage, I get around 3-3.5 hours. Using heavier loads will reduce it, depending on what youre doing of course, because this laptop has a powerful cpu & gpu (ie. they eat up battery life).
I’m planning on buying this laptop too. How long does the battery last when using VS Code or IntelliJ? Thanks!
With VSC, I think around 2.5 hours give or take. It was along with a couple of other things like chrome, images, spotify, & notion (iirc), but that is a rough estimate.
@@elacodes oh lower than expected. are you using any powerbanks with it?
Battery is thicc
Hey just wondering, where do you keep all your study books and stuff?
Luckily this term, I didnt need any physical textbooks so they're digital. But I do have other books in general (fiction/non-fiction) which I keep in a bookcase
PLS UPLORD MORE PRODUCTIVITY VLOGS
what do you do for a living ?
Nice car
What’s the planing app called? Great video 😉
it's Notion :)
How's the heating on this while gaming?
the fan gets loud (i cant say how much louder or quieter than other gaming laptops but maybe you could search this up) but the max temps I got were around 75
The battery get’s quite hot (38 degrees Celsius according to Lenovo Vantage) even in office workloads. You can costomize the fan curve and ramp them up earlier. This leads to lower CPU and battery temps. What I do not like about the big boi 😅 are the chassis temps in the area near the screen, even in light tasks. But again: you can choose between a quiet device or a cool device. When you want that much power in a portable package you cannot expect both. I chose the RTX 4060, because i do not game, but even with this one on heavy loads power consumption is arround 200 Watts so either it sips on the battery under heavy loads when used with the 170 Watt charger (I love this one, too, because it has half the weight of the 230 watt brick 🧱) or it has to reduce performance. I love the display (3K 165 Hz, again I do not game) and the keyboard, the touchpad could have better palm rejection, but you quickly turn it off or on with a function key, so it is not a deal breaker. The touchpad itself is the best I used with e Windows Laptop. Battery in light to middleweight tasks is about 3, maybe 3 and a half hour, I do not know how other users or youtubers get much more or measure longer runtimes in real world usage scenarios? In general the Legion 7i is a beautiful and very powerful device and my daily driver for about a month. Wouldn’t change it😊
does it have good performance for use in software development?
well to have an efficient system for software dev, you need a capable cpu and lots of ram, so naturally my answer to your question will be yes. have you taken a look at the specs?
@@elacodes I haven't seen the details but the road test often counts more than the numbers
I love this video , not much than your nails color :3
haha thanks :D
Was that task dashboad obsidian?
it was notion :)
Which software can work easily on this?
Well I mean if you looked at the specs, it's got an extremely capable CPU and GPU. Paired with 32gb of ram, you can pretty much run any software..
when u playing valorant, the charger plugged in or not??... if not that's laptop was incredible
In the video, when I played valorant, I think I played 2-3 deathmatch games & yes it was unplugged
@@elacodes wooowww 🤯🤯...
What kind of monitor Mount you are using??

Hi 🤍 Is the arrow placement an issue when typing?
I really like this laptop but I do a LOT typing and the ergonomics of this scare me quite a bit. Would love to hear an option from another girl 🤍
Hi! I type quite a lot since I do a lot of coding and note-taking. For some context, my old laptop was dell inspiron 5510 and it had arrow keys that were aligned to the rest of the keys. It felt natural to move from the main keyboard into the arrow keys since my hand could follow & expect it to be on the same alignment. Only issue was that they were incredibly small so I always mistyped (like pressing left instead of up). For the lenovo laptop, it was strange (at first) that it's offset but it's kinda funny because while it took me some getting used to, it eventually started to feel natural again (specially when I have to move my hand to press the arrow keys after clicking the mouse). The arrow keys are all the same size and on the bottom arrow key, there is a small "bump" so I knew exactly what I was pressing instead of having to look down to see what it was *edit some typos
