as a lebanese, i'm humbled by you visiting and appreciating our country, thank you for coming here despite these tough times and i hope everyone was as accomodating as we generally are.
Was invited to visit your country several years ago, as an European i was slightly anxious but was proved completely wrong. Travelled around and was completely overwhelmed by the warm welcome I was afforded, I stayed with friends and learnt so much about your culture. One of my special memories for a beautiful country and people’s, thank you Lebanon.
Indonesian here, and we have friends under the UN peacekeepers right now in the borders of Lebanon and Israel, and we have been getting disheartening stories. Wishing you and your family are safe Alif , and also for everyone in the region for that matter.
I'm loving the Lebanese series. It's such a beautiful place with people like no other place. There's just such a strong sense of love for their families, neighbors, and country. Even through a massive economic crisis, they are still living their lives with hope.

@soccergirl20k I would love to, but unfortunately, I have a serious disease called Vasculitis stage Churg-strauss syndrome that I'm on chemo for, so travel is not an option for me at the moment. Maybe someday, though, I'll get to see it through my own eyes.

Yes, it would be nice if he talked about other countries he hasn't covered. Like the country of Israel. But since he previously labeled that country Palestine and has wiped that country and their peoples from his more recent maps, it seems doubtful he would go there in person and be respectful at the same time.
Seriously Sonny I love your posts. You have a huge talent for narrating your videos. Giving us a great teaching of other cultures. You bring humor into it and your guides and restaurant owners laugh with you. You bring something special to the table. I am engrossed in the cultures of others and in your engagement with so many of the people and countries you visit. You found your nitch and you represent it well. I look forward to more videos.
The Restaurateurs in this episode were wildly welcoming. I mean you're going to their home and restaurant so they are like professional hosts but man made me want to visit.
It is! Beautiful sights, great variety, delicious food, wonderful people. Unfortunately, it's destroyed by a corrupt political class keen on keeping the people divided.
My mouth was watering at the snails. I LOVE snails in garlic butter sauce. Here in NZ we are utterly spoiled for seafood. We are going out in the boat this weekend. Schnapper, terakihi, kahawai,…. Yum.yum. Sonny you saw the area just “ before”. Aren’t the local, ordinary, everyday ( for lack of a better nicer word) folk so lovely and friendly? Just kind and funny, open and welcoming. Hardworking, going about their everyday business. It’s the actions of a small percentage that cause SO much bloodshed & misery. As usual. Thank you for another great video. Xxxx I’m such a fan.❤❤❤

9:20 To be clear for those who don't know these drinks, it's in the same "family" as ouzo, which is why it turns milky-white when mixed with water (or melting ice): it's a pomace brandy (i.e. a spirit made by distilling the wine-making left-overs - the _pomace_ - such as the fermented grape-skins and all the detritus from the crushed grapes settling down in the fermentation tanks, and which are rich in alcohol) that is flavoured with aniseed; what distinguished the various pomace brandies is how the flavouring happens, and what flavourings are allowed to be used, but that's kind of beside the point. The main topic of interest is that, if you hate anise, these are not drinks for you.
P.S.: You *_ALWAYS_* get more-readily drunk when sniffing spirits, not unlike people huffing paint: the inner lining of your nose is coated with a mucous membrane that is full of blood vessels - and in close proximity to your brain. Long story short, it's like snorting alcohol straight into your skull.

I remember when we used to visit the seaside and take home a shopping bags worth of the things from the stalls and all sitting round our white round formica coffee table, with a bowl for the shells, one for the lids and one for the vinegar. We used to then re boil the shells to make decorative stuff, such as a jewellery box from a cigar box to necklaces. Living in London, we don't all go around wearing badges with where we are from and our pronouns. There is a restaurant, takeaway, butchers and grocers in a small strip of shops near where i live, pretty much are all Lebanese owned. They seem very friendly and welcoming and the food at the restaurant/ takeaway is nice and might see if they do some of this dishes. I like the grocer shop as they have lots of spices that supermarkets no longer stock, so it was such a great find but they do love to push those dates! Don't get me wrong as i love dates but only at Christmas when i have eaten too much and then need help with that pushing! lol It is very sad to continuously see so much hate and anger in the world these days, brought on from greedy uncaring governments. #WorldPeace 💚✌(inside fingers showing that we are not swearing, like the outside fingers showing)
