As someone else already mentioned you should definitely try the beta of superdisplay. It works with sound and makes the wireless connection much easier as you will see. You may need to adjust the S8 ultra setting to use the full display (the beta uses the "hide te notch" setting by default, but this can be changed in the OneUI settings). Also, both Superdislay and Spacedesk (but especially Superdisplay) work best with ethernet (either native or via a USC C to ethernet, not USB A). On my desktop with ethernet Superdisplay is just as lag free as with a cable (it also takes advantages of my dedicated GPU). Of course ethernet is just for the PC, the tablet is wireless, but for some reason it works much better
how do u get the beta app? signed up for the beta program, but there is no beta app available or how do u connect to the beta superdisplay program on windows?
@@forsaken7161 just write superdisplay beta on windows to get the desktop app, then on Android look down to enrol in the beta (it will take a few minutes/hours)
Hey guys, does anybody knows if I can use these apps only at local network at home or can I use it from anywhere? I'm thinking of getting S8+ or Ultra and use them to control PC remotely when I work on the field (for Photoshop and Lightroom)
SuperDisplay is nice and plan on getting it whenever I get an Ultra. Just to let you and others know, SpaceDesk also has a wired mode but you have to have tethering turned on on the tablet.
I was watching this video on my tab S8 and I thought something was wrong with my screen then I realized you were either smoking or vaping however it was funny great video learned a lot
Ha ha ha, that's so awesome! Busted! Yep, I vape. I switched over from cigs about 7 years ago, hoping to quit this vaping stuff soon. It's so funny you noticed it, I was rolling when I saw your comment! Too darn funny! Thanks for stopping by and watching!
i fully agree: SuperDisplay is just awsome. I have been using it for weeks and the wired connection is just insanely quick. The interesting part is that the wireless connection is much faster than Samsung's own Second Screen, but maybe because it is not a secured connection (just a speculation). So never use the SuperDisplay wirelessly in public areas.
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your experiece with SuperDisplay! Appreciate the heads up about not using it in public places via WiFi, good idea.
Dude! Your video's are life saver 🤩🤩🤩🤩thank you so much i am struggling to make my second screen working on both of these devices, but i will try super display for now and hopefully it will work well 😊 keep up the great work man 👍❤
Great video. I tried SuperDisplay and I could not get it to work on my S8 Ultra. It was rapidly connecting and disconnecting. It did work on my S22u, so I know the cable was good. I tried all the troubleshooting tips and finally gave up. I really could have used it for work too. Maybe I'll revisit it later. Thanks for the heads up. Edit: I did download Samsung Second Screen from the Windows Store and that worked really well.
Thank you so much for watching. That's so strange that it wouldn't work with your tab S8 ultra, I'm glad Samsung second screen is working out for you though.
@@RADERTECH Today I tried second screen on the Tab S8U with my work laptop and while adjusting the display to make it more readable, I changed the resolution and it stopped working in a way I couldn't fix. I tried SuperDisplay with the same USB C to C cable. It worked and it worked well. I paid the $9.99 and I love having the code I'm writing on two screens again. It's been a very productive morning.
@@DigitalChadLife I'm sorry to hear that second screen went nuts on you, but glad superdisplay is doing the trick! That's awesome, it sure does work well. You can probably just tweek the resolution settings to get second screen back working, and maybe try adjusting windows scaling some if that doesn't work. As a fellow coder myself, I'm all about having a second screen setup as well 👍
@@RADERTECH I want to roll the resolution back, but the screen disconnects before I have a chance to change it in the display panel. I'm going to have to find where that value is saved and change it. I'm betting registry.
@@DigitalChadLife Gotcha. I think I know what's going on... So the first resolution you were on wasn't compatible with SuperDisplay, but worked with second screen. Then after you tweaked the resolution a little to be easier to read, it stopped working on second screen, but then would work on SuperDisplay? If that's what's going on, try this, but make note of your current resolution settings so you can go back. You just need to keep track of screen 2. Now while connected to Superdisplay, pick something close to 1920x1200 or 1920x1080. Once you do that, try reconnecting second screen and see if it works now. I think what's happening is that you're landing on a resolution that works for one that's not compatible with the other, and vice versa. But there will be a few "good" resolutions that will work with both. The resolution for screen 1 and 2 is stored in the registry like you mentioned, but doing it the way I just mentioned will be much easier to work with. I hope this makes sense, please let me know if you need more info. If you're here in the states, i can hope on a google duo call sometime to troubleshoot it. Oh, and when trying out different resolutions, keep the windows scaling at 150% or less, at least until you know it at least works, then mess with it from there. You'll notice you'll have fewer resolution options if you keep the scaling high, and that can cause problems when connecting to second displays with these apps as well.
SpaceDesk is good, and I'm sure it's got a lot better since this old video was posted. I'm not 100% sure, but if my memory servers me correctly, I wasn't able to get the wired connection for SpaceDesk working for some reason when I put this out. It was likely a fluke on my end though. Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks for this Man!!! I just downloaded it and gave it a try and I'm pretty happy with it, yes it still has a bit of latency problem but it is waaaayyy better than spacedesk, the interface is much nicer too.. Also, I really do appreciate that you give us comparison to 2 other apps and its compatibility with custom ROM. 👍👍
Thank you for this detailed video. Its super useful to watch before considering to buy a Samsung tab. I do have one question though. Does the inbuilt second display work only wirelessly or they work in a wired setup too? Since upload and download of data through Wifi is cumbersome in oudoor situation, having a hdmi / ubc C with DVI from a laptop to Usb C 3.2 on Tab can do the job, but I am not sure if it works. Any ideas on this ?
Hi Ajit, thanks for watching. Second screen is wireless only, so a wired connection isn't supported. There may be some hack to get it working that way, but it doesn't support it natively. I would strongly suggest you check out an app called SuperDisplay, it's on the Google Play store. It's free for a couple of days, but then cost about $10 or so for a lifetime license. It's totally worth it if you plan on using your tablet as a second screen often. If you search my video list for "SuperDisplay", you'll see it compared to Space Desk and Second Screen. SuperDisplay wins.
Samsung second screen would be perfect if it didn't have noticeable input delay. Superdisplay fixes the input delay problem but it lacks audio, unlike Samsung second screen.
That is strange, at least one of the 2 methods should be working. Make sure your usb-c cable supports Display over usb-c, that the secondary device has a usb-c port that supports it as well. The wifi should definitely be working though, that's odd. I'm sorry to hear about this, that sucks.
@@RADERTECH I got there eventually! It was that I struggled to find the software that installed with the driver. In the installer there wasn’t like a “add to desktop version” and I didn’t pay attention where it installed 😭 Once I figured that out connecting over WiFi was easy. Just can’t get it to work in landscape mode for whatever reason but it’s hardly a big deal 🙃 Thank you for the reply!
Is it somehow possible to use the Touch function of the tablet? Case: Cubase -> pull a Softsynth to the S8 and turn or push the knobs on the Softsynth surface with your fingers! Is this possible? And thanks for the nice tutorial!
The one thing I wish SuperDisplay did was to mirror the image so the the Samsung Tablet could be used in a teleprompter. You can rotate it and even flip it vertically but horizontally mirror it like you can in Duet display. I emailed the Dev but it looks the the support email is no longer working. I wonder is SuperDisplay actively being developed? I heard a rumor that Duet bought the app from the Developer
Thank you so much for watching, and my apologies for the slow reply. Have you tried the beta version of Super Display? I haven't tried it yet personally, but I've been hearing good things about the additional features it has. I'm not sure about the Duet devs taking over SuperDisplay, that's interesting, thanks for sharing 👍
I know its been awhile, but in Windows you have the option of screen mirroring or not. Since SuperDisplay just makes your tablet a monitor for your PC, you can just change the Windows options to mirror one of your other monitors to it.
@@extraordinaaron when he says "mirror the image" he means actually flip it like a mirror would, where all text appears backwards. this is useful to teleprompting and the monitor needs to display backwards text, then when it's reflected for the reader to see, it's forward. he's not talking about mirror the display in the way we think of just displaying the same thing on two displays at once.
Hi Warren, thanks for watching! No, you won't be able tell any difference. The fastest firewire is rated at 6gb per second, while USB 3.0 is rated at 5gbps. Where you will tell the difference is when using the Thunderbolt port on this machine with compatible Thunderbolt devices - the speed is up to 40gbps on that port, it's blazing fast!
I'll keep this short...I love, love, LOVE this tablet. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxLNmVocUk8tnSkwWIlYSNFzWRIaFTBuzS The picture quality is amazing and there are so many features that this technodino can't wait to learn! My only (very, very minor) complaint is that I ordered this in bronze and they sent me black. Yes, it should have been corrected, but we were only in country for a short period of time and I didn't want to run the risk of not getting a new one in time. I'm such a fan of Samsung Galaxy tablets that I'd rather suck it up than lose out on having it. In the big scheme of things, this rates an irritant factor of .0000000001 out of 1000. In other words, I'm not looking at the colors when I use it, so I got over it very easily.
Thanks for stopping by! It's pretty close to being the same experience. There's little lag, and the options are pretty nice. But, nothing beats a direct connection to a monitor when it comes to stability and speed, but SuperDisplay gets you real close to it.
8:54 thanks for the demo. I think a better way of getting an idea of what the latency is to have it as "Duplicate screen" then move the cursor around to see if there's any lag.
bro Samsung second screen is not working on my desktop, and when turn on Samsung second screen on tab its just like a picture no loading , no options . can you pls help me out
That sucks, I've had this happen before. This will be a little complex, but not too bad. Open up your wireless adapter properties from Device Manager, it will be listed under Network Adapters. Go to the Advanced tab, and there will be an option called 802.11 ax/ac/n/abg. Take note of what your current value is. Now, switch this setting to be anything else, and try second screen again. When you do make this setting switch, you're likely to lose internet while you try this stuff out. Keep changing this setting and re-try Second Screen until it works. Once it works, disconnect and switch back to your original setting. You'll then have internet back again, and Second Screen should now continue to work as well. It's totally weird, but it's worked for ma and a couple others that I mentioned this to. I didn't come up with this, I remember finding it in a youtube comment long back and it sure did come in handy.
Hi, thank you so much for watching 👍 Yes, you should be able to use it still. You can either use the wireless feature, or an HDMI to usb-c adapter if your laptop has HDMI out.
getting msy tab s8 ultra today. and also thinking about buying superdisplay. however i want to use as 2nd display wirelessly-. when doing work from home, and want to chill in the sofa and do work. will this be doable? thanx
Hi, thanks for watching! It really depends on your wireless connection. I get up to around 50 to 60 feet away before things start to get choppy. You can try it out for for free for a couple days and see how it does in your house.
I think, for me SPACE DESK is the best. Super display stable version picture quality not not good it's like 480P. here in SPACE DESK it's looks like Native display.I was installed BETA version of super display but it's not connecting my Lenovo Tab i insert, and remove my usb many but it doesn't working , wifi mode also not working. I don't know why was it happening. but then I uninstalled superdisplay and enjoying space desk with keyboard and sound! I liked one thing about super desplay - it's supports stylus and 120fps😮 and it's real so smooth. By the way do you used super display stable version (1.10..something). What's your experience, did you get better picture quality ? What's differences between super display normal and Beta version?
Hi, thanks for watching and sharing your experience. Honestly, I'm pretty lazy with this screen sharing stuff, so I typically just use Samsung's Second Screen feature instead of Space Desk and Super Display. It's a one button toggle and then that's it, it just works. I'm glad Space Desk is working well for you. It's been a little too laggy for me, but it seems some folks have really good luck with. I've played around with beta version of Super Display, but it's been a while. I recall there being some additional refresh options as well some s pen adjustments, but that's all I recall.
Thanks for the video. Not sure if i miss out anything, are we able to use the tablet to control the laptop? That is, can i open a windows app in the laptop via tablet touch screen?
Thank you so much for watching Drax, appreciate you. So if you chose to duplicate the screen instead of extending it, yes, you can control the laptop apps right from the tablet. The screen you normally would see on the laptop would also in turn be displayed on the tablet, and you have touch input ability, so you can startup and work with apps right from the tablet. There's been a couple times where I've connected this way, and took my tab S8 Ultra out to the living room and continued working from there. It can be a little laggy if you get too far away, but it's not too bad, especially if you're fairly close.
@@RADERTECH Thanks for sharing. When u mention "a little laggy", i presume u are using superDisplay. Whatever u mention in the video, can i say that it also apply to samsung s8 tab wifi (not ultra , not s8+ model), as well?
@@drax432 Sorry for the slow reply back, got busy at work. No, I was referring to Samsung's Second Screen, sorry for clarifying. I tend to use SuperDisplay wired via usb-c, and it's rock solid, I don't notice any latency at all. Yes, you are correct. The same applies to all of the tablets, not just the tab s8 ultra shown in the video.
@@RADERTECH Thanks. For the SuperDisplay, have u tried wireless option, and use touch input to control the laptop apps. Is it as responsive as that of Samsung's second screen? Another query, for the wired option, what kind of cable is needed? cable with both ends being usb type c head?
@@drax432 Hey Drax, sorry for the slow reply, been crazy busy at work. Yeah, I've tried SuperDisplay wired as well, it performs about the same as second screen, but I wouldn't say it's any better. It's when it's wired is when it shines really, there's basically zero lag. To use a wired connection, you just need a usb-c male to usb-c male cable, the same one that comes with most phones and tablets these days.
I experimenting with those apps mirroring the screen of a windows mini pc to galaxy s6. It is working but there is lag connecting wiressly in a adsl wifi router (300Mbit max). If i make it work without lag, I'll buy galaxy tab s8 ultra to use this.. Will it work faster if i connect the mini pc with ethernet to rooter ethernet, and then wirelessly the router with galaxy tab? I'm not sure if it's even possible what im thinking.. Or can i buy something to connect them wiressly fast? Thanks anyway.
Thanks for stopping by! So the fastest connection you'll get is if your PC has a good NIC, and you run a direct connection (peer to peer) from it to the S8 ultra, but then you lose internet because you're bypassing the router. The only real way for sure to get low lag and use a regular connection is to have a solid router. I'm at 1GB speeds at home and it works great, but if I'm on a slower network things start to get choppy fast.
I'm using the beta version of superdisplay, It's much more feature-rich than the stable version, It has some extra features like "keep-connected in the background" (absent in the stable version), Play audio, Turning the screen to pitch black when the computer is locked (may help by turning off OLEDs to conserve battery) Presently it has the same performance/image quality for both USB 2 and USB 3 connections, Samsung S series tablets being USB 3.2, it could improve the image quality much more by using the higher bandwidth of USB 3.2 standard, I use it frequently for taking engineering classes. Prefer it over the graphic tablets because of its touch support.
@@RADERTECH I was actually looking for a video of the beta version and then connected wireless. When I click on your video is was hoping that you covered that
Is there any way to use one of those programs without lag WIRELESSLY? I now i can connect through usb without lag. Is there a wireless usb to buy or something? Thanks,
Thanks for watching! It really comes down to the wifi speeds your achieving. I'm on 1GB/wifi 6e at home and both SuperDisplay and Second Screen work great. But if I use it anywhere else that has less speed, things get laggy and choppy fast.
Thank you, SuperDisplay is awesome! Connected my Kindle Fire HD via micro USB as an additional monitor in Win10, everything is super smooth and no lag whatsoever! Also what I really like as well is that you can set the resolution on your connected device above the actual native one and have more screen space, if needed. For example I can set it to 4K on my Fire tablet, even so it's screen resolution is 1080p.
Thank you so much for watching! Yes indeed, SuperDisplay really is awesome, a lot of folks are using it and loving it. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Nice review... im interested in superdisplay app. Already used it for 2 years in my tab s6 (t860). i curious is that SuperDisplay would work if the tab only has usb type c 2.0? For example on galaxy tab s9 fe plus series... if that so.. it will be a great affordable solution for second big screen
Any USB-C port that supports Diplay over USB should work fine with SuperDisplay, even if it's not the latest greatest. It's been out for years like you mentioned, it pretty much supports it all at this point. Thanks for stopping by.
The xbox app on Android is locked at 720p but is 1080 on wimdows. My laptop is wifi 6 and so is my s7 plus tablet. Would the latemcy be low enough wireless with super display to use my oled screen for remote playing my xbox on the oled screen?
Hi Roger, thank you so much for watching. No, I doubt it will work well for gaming, sadly. The latency is low, but not gaming low I'm afraid. Doing it with a wired connection would be fine, but that little bit of lag when using it wirelessly will probably drive you nuts.
@@RADERTECH I think I will do the trial so i can see how much better looks on oled vs laptop. I will prolly go ahead and buy it after cause will be handy for other stuff too. Thanks for the reply btw!
Hi, thanks for watching! You sure can! You just need a USB-C to HDMI adapter. If you want to keep the tablet charged while casting to your TV or monitor, you can use a multi-port adapter that has charging pass-thru.
hey, im running my pc into an s8 with superdisplay. im using onenote, but im unable to get the pen button to work as an eraser. everything else works just fine. have you been able to figure this out?
Hi, thanks for watching! Oh, I don't think that's possible without doing a bunch of crazy hacks. OneNote completely supports the S Pen on the tablet side, but I know it's a little janky on the PC side because it's designed to support all types of pens. I know you can do a quick Alt+E to pull up the eraser real quick, but I don't know of a clever way for it to recognize the button press on the PC side without the tablet picking up the button click first. I'll try to remember to try out a couple things after I get off work. If you don't hear back from me by say tomorrow, please shoot me another comment and I'll reply back with what I found out.
Hi, thanks for watching! So it wouldn't work like that. If that's what you're after, you'd just want to use the tablet's built in S Notes, or whatever you prefer. However, if you're using a drawing app on the PC and want to use the tablet as to do the drawing, you can always take a quick screenshot by pressing the Power+Vol Down buttons at the same time, and then it will get saved to your Screenshots folder in the Gallery app. I'm sure there's a few other workaround too, but those are the first I can think of.
@@RADERTECH What is the use of second screen on the tablet if I cannot write or draw with tablet's S-pen. I also cannot use Windows pc's keyboard and mouse when I mirror my tablet screen on pc via Smart View.
@@sumitghoshal1792 You can use the tablet screen and s pen when using second screen, just you'll be using apps ran on the PC and not directly on the tablet. Both Second Screen and Super Display give you the option for pen and touch input. You can't use the keyboard from your PC on the tablet when using Smart View, because Smart View is for purely viewing content, not interacting with it. You'd want to use one of these screen sharing apps to accomplish that. You can do everything you're having issues with, it's all possible.

Hi, thanks for watching! Start by making sure you have the Samsung Second Screen app on your Lenovo, it's free in the Microsoft store. Then if that doesn't help at all, go into Device Manager, and find your wireless adapter. Open up the Properties window for it, and change the wireless network band. If you're on 802.11\b, try switching to g. Once it does finally connect, you should be able to go back to your original setting. This happened on my desktop PC, it took a bit to get it working.
@@RADERTECH Great Thanks! I have second screen working now, switched from 5g to 2.4G in the wireless properties on the Laptop and it started! I plan on using Super Display! Thanks for watching! It connects to external displays the same way the GB pro 360 does that you were asking about. I'll have the Short posted tomorrow that'll walk you through it. Basically you just need a USB-C to USB-C cable with an HDMI to USB-C adapter, or use a multiport usb-c hub that has HDMI out.
Can i use SuperDisplay with my tablet to bypass nvidia optimus from my laptop? My laptop doesn't have a MUX switch and I don't want to buy a monitor so this could be a great alternative if it works. Anyway, nice content 👍.
As long as your usb-c ports on both your laptop and tablet support Display over USB, you should be good. A quick way to test for this is to use a usb-c to hdmi cable, and run that from your laptop to a monitor then from your tablet to a monitor, that will tell you for sure. Thanks for stopping by.
Hi, thanks for watching! Yes, you'll always have a better connection going wired vs wireless. The latency is always less and it just works better. But, you'll want to make sure you're using the right cable. If you want to go HDMI Out, then make sure to get a HDMI to USB-C adapter to run to the tablet. Or just go USB-C to USB-C if your laptop/desktop has one that supports Display Over USB.
@@RADERTECH I tried both already but for the HDMI USB- doesnt make any connect and usb c to usb c just charge so do you think that they already got better connection by just plug a wire in and using the seccond screen connection by the same wifi ? thanks
@@Whatnexttttt Sorry for the slow reply, been super busy this holiday weekend. So what devices are you trying to use this with? What's the PC and what phone?
@@Whatnexttttt Sometimes second screen can be a little tricky. If you want to use a wired connection, I would suggest trying SuperDisplay, as it suppots both wired and wireless and the wired adapters can be varied. You can use usb-c to usb-c or even a usb-a on your PC to usb-c on your tablet. It's free for a couple days, then it costs around $10 if you end up keeping it. If you're really wanting to get Second screen working, you'll be using wireless only, it doesn't support wired connections. I have a couple other videos explaining how to force a connection with second screen, please search my videos for "second screen", and couple other matches should come up. If you get to a point where the Tab S8 Ultra shows as being available, but the connection just fails to establish, try this: Open up Device Manager from the Start menu, then find your wireless network adapter in the list of devices. Right-click on it and chose Properties. On there, one of tabs will have several connections options. Try switching from whatever band/channel your on now to something else, then try second screen again. By band/channel, I'm referring to 5.4ghz/8011.1, options like that. Once you establish the connection, you can revert back to the original setting and it will still usually work from there on out. This worked for my main PC and a few other folks that tried it as well.
Thank you so much for watching! It works totally fine with super display and second screen, both work well. Don't worry, the s pen experience on both of those devices is simply awesome, it works amazingly well.
I have a question, does it matter if the tablet I want to use is old and bad? Basically I just want a second touchscreen display that I can use to open programs or apply basic settings while keeping my mouse on my main display. Ty in advance
Hi John, thanks for watching! So yeah, you should be totally fine with an older tablet. It likely won't perform well if you try to use a wireless connection, since the latest tablets use wifi 6 and the performance with that is really good. But if you use a USB-C cable instead, you'll have no lag at all, even on an older tablet.
@@John-wv9iw Awesome, that sounds like a good use for it. I'm pretty sure SuperDisplay is still free for the first couple of days, so you'll be able to try it out before committing to it.
Yes, you sure can, you have a few options. First up, is you can enable DEX mode and it will cast your entire screen to your desktop computer. The cool thing is, is that you can continue to use other apps on the tablet in android mode, and only show the apps you want on the desktop in DEX mode. You can turn that off if you want the entire screen with all apps to show too. You can also sideload the Phone Companion app on your tablet, then turn on the Your Phone app on your PC, and that gives you the option the mirror your tablet screen to it as well. You can also use Smart View on the tablet and press Win+K keys at the same time. You should have a checkbox that allows you to cast the other way, from tablet to PC. There's a few other options as well.
Hi, thanks for watching! Yes, as long as they don't have mirracast screensharing disabled. Second Screen doesn't require anything to be installed to work, you just press Win+K on the PC. There is a small "helper" app called Second Screen that helps stretch the screen on the tablet some, but it's not needed.
Hi, thanks for watching, and sorry for the slow reply. I've been pretty sick this past week. Just like JiRA mentioned, SuperDisplay does indeed support the higher 120hz refresh rate.
if superdisplay doesnt work wired for whatever reason try enabling usb tethering on the tablet, then disable the wifi on the tablet and connect to wifi. dont know if the non beta Version works with that though. you will need the beta.
That's a really good question actually! Yes, you sure can, but I would suggest looking into Duet Display for Mac's. It's very similar to SuperDisplay, but is designed for MacOS. Thanks for stopping by and watching!
Please help, How to enter full screen mode on my Android phone running spacedesk viewer. There are always black sidebars, one left and one right of the viewer app I want to get full screen
Hi, thanks for watching! Your phone likely has a much wider aspect ratio than your computer, so it's going to have black bars I'm afraid. There might be a workaround, but the images and text would be stretched and distorted.
@@فتىالعرب-غ9غ Check the resolution of your phone, then adjust your computer resolution to match it as close as possible. You'll have to switch back when done though.
Hi, thanks for watching! Yes, no issues at all. All of the heavy lifting gets done on the primary device, in this case a machine that's using a RTX gpu. It won't play a factor at all really, except that on the second screen you may not the frame rates you're used to seeing out of your primary display, but that's to be expected.
I don't think it will work. You should be able to give it a try for a few days before you have to pay though, at least that's how it was when I first installed it, which was quite a while ago. Then you can test it first before committing to it. Thanks for stopping by.
hey, I have a question, when i connect my computer with super display, all tab and apps went to the tablet i connected (samsung tab s8) it seems that the tablet become the main screen automatically and I don't know how to fix this any suggestions?
Thanks for stopping by. It's an easy fix, don't worry. Just righ-click on your PC's desktop and open up Display Properties. There you'll se both displays (PC and tablet) when you have Super Display active. Then you can pick which display is the primary and which is secondary, and you can also pick if you want the screen to stretch over the 2 monitors, or have it be duplicated.
Thank you so much for watching! Yeah, I know, I'm sorry. I didn't even consider the Beta version when making this video, but found out more about once it got released. So I learned new stuff from you guys, which is awesome! A few others have mentioned that it works great, so I sure do need to give it a try.
I have a Windows laptop and want to use my Samsung tab s5e as a second screen, do i have to download "second screen" from Samsung to make it work natively?
Hi, thanks for stopping by. No, you sure don't, at least not in most cases. The app mostly just rescales the screen on your tablet so it fills up the entire screen, otherwise you'll have black bars, depending on the aspect ratio of your window machine. But occasionally on some non-Samsung Windows PC's, the second screen feature will fail to start. If that happens, try again with the app installed. If that doesn't work, shoot me another comment (a new one, you can drop it on any video, I'll see it), and I'll walk you through making a few network settings changes that will get it working.
Hey, thanks for watching! No, not at all. I very rarely do "screen sharing" these days, and usually just default to using Samsung's Second Screen out of convenience. Super Display is great though, def the most featured offering of the bunch. They all work pretty good though.
Sorry for the slow reply. I don't have chromebook to test with, but it should work fine it supports the typical mirrorcast standard. On windows, that's just a press of Win+K, but I'm not sure on chromebooks.
Great info, thanks! I agree that SuperDisplay is, by far, the best option of the three. Even over WiFi there is MUCH less latency than the built in Second Screen.
Superdisplay rocks. I sent an email and a tweet kindly asking for help. The app is amazing and works flawlessly with my Galaxy Z fold 4 with S pen when I am using Windows 10. However when I am using windows 11 the button on the S pen doesn't work in photoshop or capture one or chrome hardly anywhere. It right clicks if I right click on a blank space on the windows desktop, but not on any icons. On Windows 10 it does the right click function everyehere, but on windows 11 it doesn't function most of the time.. Can you please help me? Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I installed the drivers and have the same settings in both versions of windows and the android app, I can't figure out what's going on. Thank you for your time and help.
Hi, thank you so much for watching! I notice the same thing as well when using the s pen with Windows 11, it's very unfortunate. Another viewer mentioned this a while back, and we spent some time troubleshooting it. I still haven't found a solution :( If I come across something that works, I'll post a short video explaining how to fix it. It works fine in Windows 10 for me as well.
@@RADERTECH thank you so much for taking the time to reply, it means a lot to me. You have no idea how much I love this app! It literally changed my life. For the first time in over 10 years just bought a non 2in1 PC. I got the 17 inch LG Gram, and was so pumped to use super display on it, and tried all kinds of things, installing the beta and even reinstalled windows 11 thinking maybe I did something wrong in the setup stages. I'm glad you have heard about this too so I know I'm not crazy. I sent a tweet to the company, and email but no response. If you know any other strategies to draw this issue to thier attention please let me know. For now I'm just happy that I'm not crazy. I'll learn to work without the right click for now.
@@Imwphotography That's awesome that you like it too, it really is a nice and polished experience. The only way I know how to get a in touch with them is via their support email address on their site. Hopefully they get back to you soon.
Gracias por pasar. Por lo que estoy viendo en reddit, parece que la pantalla a través de USB no es compatible con la pestaña s9FE, lo cual realmente apesta. Sin embargo, funciona en la pestaña normal s9, lo acabo de probar.
Hi, thank you so much for watching! Nah, it doesn't hurt it at all. You will get a little bit more battery drain since the screen will be on all of the time while using it, and because of the constant data flow over wifi for projecting the screen to it, but it doesn't impact battery life much at all. Actually, I'm surprised at how little it does impact battery life. No harm.
Are you able to use touch input using Super display? The pen and pen pressure works fine but i'm not able to use touch which kinda makes it annoying when I want to move things around the screen. Other then that it's definitely great though!
Thank you so much for watching, and my apologies for the slow reply. You sure can! When you have it up and running you should have toolbar visible on the tablet. If you don't see it, enable it in the settings. The left most command button in the toolbar will switch the mode that you're in, I think there's like 3 in total. Pick the one that looks like a finger touching a screen and you'll be all set, touch input should work.
When I have the finger icon showing, no touch input works, the move and pen input works fine and if I go into the settings and do simulater touch input as pen input then that works. Thought maybe there might have been a setting I was missing.
@@xultix Interesting, it's definitely working on mine, I tested it out just before I replied to you earlier. I duplicated the desktop to my tab S8 ultra, picked the touch mode icon, and then was able to use touch input straight away. No other settings had to be adjusted. You should be able to open the start menu, close out of apps, etc.. right on the tablet. I didn't try extended display mode though.
I have multiple monitors so did only extend, I did try duplicating it to see if it would work but no luck. I'll try emailing the guy in hopes there's a way to get it working but if not I can live without it lol
I have galaxy tab s7 plus and as explained in this video, it mostly does not work. But its mentioned in the video that you need to change certain WiFi setting to make it work. Can somebody please tell me what setting to change to make it work?
I have windows 10 and one ui 5.1. It almost never works for me. When i connect it, it connects, the screen flickers on my tab s7 plus and then immediately disconnects with in a second. I have tried installing second screen on my laptop too, But its the same issue
Thank you so much for watching! You're like the 10th person to ask about GTA 5, so I'm downloading it now and will be releasing a quick video about it later today. I have no clue how well it will perform, but we'll find out soon enough. I see it can be ran via Epic Games and Steam, I'm going with the Steam version since most of my games are there already.
So I was going to put out a video tonight about it, but I spent that past 3 hours playing GTA V instead! It plays great, no issues at all. I'm averaging 55 to 70 FPS, with no noticeable dips in frame rates. I'll get a video out tomorrow about it, but wanted to give you a heads up in the meantime.
Try this - Go into the advanced settings in SuperDisplay on the tab and adjust the resolution to 1750x1050, then try connecting again. Thanks for watching 👍
Do you mean use a Samsung tablet of phone with your desktop? If so, yes, you sure can. You can install the Second Screen app from the Microsoft store, and that will fix the resolution difference that will be there if you don't have the app installed. If you face any issues with it, just let me know and I can assist. It can be a little finicky to setup the first time if not run from a Samsung laptop, but I'll walk you right through it if you face an issues.
Thanks for mentioning this. A couple other folks have recently mentioned it as well. You're totally right, I didn't see the option when recording this. It might have been there all along, I just don't think I noticed it most likely.
How is the typing and touch pad experience on book 2 pro 360??? Is it comparable to macbook ,?? As a student who relays on ms office will there a problem for typing for a long periode??,,I have 2 option either go for ,m1pro macbook Pro 14 inch, which cost around 3000$ in India ,or should I go for 1200$ galaxy book 2 pro 360?? To make a cheap purchase
Thank you so much for watching 👍I personally prefer the keyboard on the galaxy book pro, but prefer the trackpad on the MacBook pro. That's a huge price difference in your area. If money isn't an issue for you, I'd probably lean slightly towards the MB Pro if you're used to MacOS, primarily for its higher resolution panel.
@@akshay5569 Oh, in that case, I'd probably go with the galaxy book then. $3,000 is a ton of money for a device running an OS you're not familiar with yet.
@@RADERTECH the think is my classes starts in 3 months ,so I was thinking about getting to understand the machine within that period,I have another option ,xps 15 ,do you know about it??
@@akshay5569 That's awesome, wishing you the best of luck with your studies👍 You can't go wrong with the XPS, I have one and like it a lot. I think any of the machines you mentioned so far will work very well for you. I'd go with the one that resonates with you the most, as they're all great options.
I do an experiment connecting my windows machine to tab s8 (non ultra) using second screen and superdisplay (trial, and beta that support audio streaming). Connection is wireless (not wired). Interestingly second screen audio stream smoothly, superdisplay 's audio streaming jerky. Maybe cos superdisplay app is still beta in terms of audio streaming. So far now, i keep to second screen.
Thank you so much for watching and for sharing your results of using both of them. The beta version of SuperDisplay still needs some fine tuning, so I'm not too surprised with your findings. Thanks for sharing with everyone 👍
Hi Mike, thanks for stopping by. Super Display, and the others mentioned here won't work for that, they're designed to be used with a PC. You have other options though, such as AirDrop Cast, here's a link to it. It's designed for exactly what you're after, one android device being cast to another, including tablets - www.airdroid.com/screen-mirror/mirror-a-phone-to-another-phone/#:~:text=Connect%20both%20Android%20devices%20to,to%20begin%20the%20mirroring%20process.
Hi Ben, thanks for stopping by and watching! You sure can, there's quite a few apps that allow for this. Here's a subreddit with a bunch of suggestions from folks doing the same exact thing you're wanting - www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyTab/comments/tr7phd/s8_ultra_tab_as_secondary_mac_display/
I’m having a problem myself if anyone can help out, when I connect my superdisplay on my tablet (tab s9 fe+) It’s default to a low resolution that is not great (960X600) when I go to change this in my display settings it just turns my tablet into a black screen that I’m unable to display or work anything on.
A couple things to try. It could be your USB-C cable facing a limitation with the bandwidth it can handle, or there's enough of a mismatch between the source resolution (your PC or laptop) and the tablet itself. Perhaps try changing the resolution of your PC to see that rules this out. Thanks for stopping by.
If you're using SuperDisplay, yes to both. It supports 120hz and is compatable with any android tablet that supports display over usb-c. I'm pretty sure xiaomi supports display over usb-c, but you might want to double check it to be 100% sure. Thanks for watching!
That can happen if you're quite aways away from your wifi router, or if you're on a congested wifi channel. Changing the channel in your wifi router settings might help some, it has for me personally in the past. Thanks for stopping by.
Hi, thanks for watching! Make sure the audio output device is set to the tab s8 ultra on the master device, the one your sharing the screen of. Also, make sure your tab s8 ultra isn't trying to connect to wireless earbuds, though that's likely not the cause. If audio is what you're really after, I recommend the beta version of SuperDisplay. It just works.
@@RADERTECH thanks for answering, I made it happen with the beta version. This rocks! Was looking for something like this. The audio output isn't shown under windows but it just takes the tab's output. To be able to switch back and forth would be a dream! Super program tho! Thanks!
SuperDisplay is the best way to connect your tablet as a second monitor without using wifi thank you for the video!!!
It sure does work great, thank you much for watching!
This is what I need. Wired solution.
Thank you.
No, screen size is smaller for ultra version
i tried to use it but my screen on tablet is black with only cursor visible
Not great unless it can display Android on the laptop as well?
So glad I found the video. Have been using for all of 10 Minutes and could not be more pleased.
That's so awesome, thank you so much for watching!
Broooo i tried spacedesk and never heard of superdisplay
SO MUCH BETTER, thank you dude
You're welcome, thank you so much for watching!
Thanks for all of this great info, very much appreciated!! 👍
how do u get the beta app?

Do you know if it works on USB A to USB C?
i fully agree: SuperDisplay is just awsome.
Appreciate the heads up about not using it in public places via WiFi, good idea.
may i know , for wired connection, what kind of cable is needed?
Did u paid for it?

Super review. Liked. The best video I've found.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate your kindness and you stopping by 👍
if you are use spacedesk with a wired connection it works pretty well. idk why everyone hates it so much
SpaceDesk is good, and I'm sure it's got a lot better since this old video was posted. I'm not 100% sure, but if my memory servers me correctly, I wasn't able to get the wired connection for SpaceDesk working for some reason when I put this out. It was likely a fluke on my end though. Thanks for stopping by.
@@RADERTECHits doing just fine

I just downloaded it and gave it a try and I'm pretty happy with it, yes it still has a bit of latency problem but it is waaaayyy better than spacedesk, the interface is much nicer too..
Also, I really do appreciate that you give us comparison to 2 other apps and its compatibility with custom ROM. 👍👍
Thank you so much, I'm glad this was helpful.
@@RADERTECH Great.. Ill look it up.. Superdisplay was interesting though.. thanks for answering back.. Keep the tech videos coming !!!
Did u pay for it? Or it's free
Samsung second screen would be perfect if it didn't have noticeable input delay. Superdisplay fixes the input delay problem but it lacks audio, unlike Samsung second screen.
Yeah, all of these solutions seem to have some pluses and minuses. Thanks for stopping by.
I've installed the superdisplay installer on my laptop but it just isn't working rather wired or wireless. Weird
In the installer there wasn’t like a “add to desktop version” and I didn’t pay attention where it installed 😭
Once I figured that out connecting over WiFi was easy. Just can’t get it to work in landscape mode for whatever reason but it’s hardly a big deal 🙃

Best video for this subject on youtube!!!!!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate this nice comment!
You can use spacedesk via wirwd mode though. I have tried it since my laptop screen has lines all over.
Any difference between usb-c vs firewire? Will you be able to tell a difference in latency?
Indeed, it's a very nice machine! Thanks for stopping by!

Is Super Display seamless if compared to a small monitor? i.e., frequency, everything works as a monitor would?? Many thanks for the vid!
Thanks for stopping by! It's pretty close to being the same experience. There's little lag, and the options are pretty nice. But, nothing beats a direct connection to a monitor when it comes to stability and speed, but SuperDisplay gets you real close to it.
9:00 How does the usb-c connection work? Do you have to set up a virtual network (tethering), enable usb debugging or just plug it in and that's it?
Just plug it in and go, no setup required. Thanks for watching!
8:54 thanks for the demo. I think a better way of getting an idea of what the latency is to have it as "Duplicate screen" then move the cursor around to see if there's any lag.
That's actually a REALLY clever idea! Wow, I sure I hope I remember this next time I do a video like this. I appreciate you.
bro Samsung second screen is not working on my desktop, and when turn on Samsung second screen on tab its just like a picture no loading , no options . can you pls help me out
That sucks, I've had this happen before.
What is the best s8 ultra case with a kickstand for the second monitor use?

Great contents. Hello, I just wonder whether superdisplay can work with the old laptop without USB-C?
Super useful presentation. Thank you so much. Thumbs up.

What cable should i use with superdiplay to my stationary desktop pc. Will a usb-c to normal usb work? For 120hz 1848x2960 resolution.
You could better compare lag if you duplicated the screen and moved your mouse cursor in circle or dragging something left/right.
Great suggestion, thank you!
Lol yeah i was gonna say the same thing 😂 this guy must be bright

So the fastest connection you'll get is if your PC has a good NIC, and you run a direct connection (peer to peer) from it to the S8 ultra, but then you lose internet because you're bypassing the router. The only real way for sure to get low lag and use a regular connection is to have a solid router. I'm at 1GB speeds at home and it works great, but if I'm on a slower network things start to get choppy fast.
I'm using the beta version of superdisplay,
It's much more feature-rich than the stable version,
It has some extra features like "keep-connected in the background" (absent in the stable version),
Play audio,
Turning the screen to pitch black when the computer is locked (may help by turning off OLEDs to conserve battery)
Presently it has the same performance/image quality for both USB 2 and USB 3 connections,
Samsung S series tablets being USB 3.2, it could improve the image quality much more by using the higher bandwidth of USB 3.2 standard,
I use it frequently for taking engineering classes.
Prefer it over the graphic tablets because of its touch support.
Thank you so much for sharing this great info, and my apologies for the slow reply. I'll have to check out the beta version, sounds pretty awesome 👍

Hi, can i use hdmi on the samsung tab as direct output monitor?

hey, im running my pc into an s8 with superdisplay.
im using onenote, but im unable to get the pen button to work as an eraser. everything else works just fine. have you been able to figure this out?
Can I write on the Tablet's second screen with S-pen and draw a picture on the second screen and save it in the tablet's gallery app?
@@RADERTECH I don't have any pen support for my laptop. I wanted to extend or duplicate the screenshots via second screen from laptop to tablet and write & draw on those screenshots on the tablet screen by S-pen. I cannot do so with the tablet's s-pen.
wow incredible, so my second screen doesn't work with my Lenovo laptop, what do i need to change in the network settings?
@@chucksw1 I'm glad that worked, so awesome! Yeah, Super Display definitely earns it's name, lol!
Thanks a lot. How to connect to external monitor via HDMI?
Thanks for watching! It connects to external displays the same way the GB pro 360 does that you were asking about. I'll have the Short posted tomorrow that'll walk you through it. Basically you just need a USB-C to USB-C cable with an HDMI to USB-C adapter, or use a multiport usb-c hub that has HDMI out.
will all s pen feature work when i connect it with 22 ultra?
Can i use SuperDisplay with my tablet to bypass nvidia optimus from my laptop? My laptop doesn't have a MUX switch and I don't want to buy a monitor so this could be a great alternative if it works. Anyway, nice content 👍.
As long as your usb-c ports on both your laptop and tablet support Display over USB, you should be good. A quick way to test for this is to use a usb-c to hdmi cable, and run that from your laptop to a monitor then from your tablet to a monitor, that will tell you for sure. Thanks for stopping by.
do you think i could get better connection by using hdmi wire?
Hi, thanks for watching! Yes, you'll always have a better connection going wired vs wireless. The latency is always less and it just works better. But, you'll want to make sure you're using the right cable. If you want to go HDMI Out, then make sure to get a HDMI to USB-C adapter to run to the tablet. Or just go USB-C to USB-C if your laptop/desktop has one that supports Display Over USB.
@@RADERTECH I tried both already but for the HDMI USB- doesnt make any connect

@@Whatnexttttt Sorry for the slow reply, been super busy this holiday weekend. So what devices are you trying to use this with? What's the PC and what phone?
@@RADERTECH i use my pc to connect with my ultra 8s
Bro Can you test the pen in Super Display, I need to know its performance before I spend 1500 dollars on this device.
@@RADERTECH ty for the quick answer. I literally dont use that tablet at all so I will just use it as a permanent display
@@John-wv9iw Awesome, that sounds like a good use for it. I'm pretty sure SuperDisplay is still free for the first couple of days, so you'll be able to try it out before committing to it.
Can you play a program on TABLET and see it on the Desktop ?
Is there anyway to do this without installing anything on my PC? My company has my laptop on lockdown...

Is it damaging the tab battery or not?
Hi, thank you so much for watching! Nah, it doesn't hurt it at all. You will get a little bit more battery drain since the screen will be on all of the time while using it, and because of the constant data flow over wifi for projecting the screen to it, but it doesn't impact battery life much at all. Actually, I'm surprised at how little it does impact battery life. No harm.
Are you able to use touch input using Super display? The pen and pen pressure works fine but i'm not able to use touch which kinda makes it annoying when I want to move things around the screen. Other then that it's definitely great though!

If your usb-a port is USB 3.1 Gen 1, you should be fine. Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks for stopping by.

why my tablet (s8 ultra) disconects every few seconds?, it didnt used to do that but now i cant even use it
That can happen if you're quite aways away from your wifi router, or if you're on a congested wifi channel. Changing the channel in your wifi router settings might help some, it has for me personally in the past. Thanks for stopping by.
best video. very helpful
Thank you so much, I appreciate you!
Spacedesk does allow wired connection
Thanks! I may not have noticed the option back when this was recorded. It's more obvious now when you first connect, it wasn't back then.
Anyone else got issues with the sound though? Can't get my output from the tab ultra
Thanks!
does superdisplay support 120hz refresh rate?
I'm pretty sure it's capped at 60hz. Thanks for stopping by!
Super display setup
Hi, thanks for watching. It's pretty straightforward, I just use defaults most of the time. Happy to help with any specific questions you might have.
