This video has been by far the biggest production on the channel so massive thanks to Andrew and Jake for helping to make it happen! Who would you like me to face off against in upcoming episodes?
I really love how this mirrors an actual client experience, but with great humor and curveballs thrown in -- even down to the project manager telling the client "no problem!" right near the end!
Great idea, Ben! The feedback was hilarious and over-the-top and very close to reality. Favorite client feedback: 'Not what I had in mind' 'I don't know, but I'll know it when I see it' Precisely!
GAH! The stress was incredible. I imagine this is how people feel watching cooking shows. I'm sure a ton of work goes into these but YOU BOTH DID SO WELL! I would love to see more of these.
OMG Ben, loving this content! Motion designers are tired of watching the same old motion design tutorials, we need more content like this. The next opponent could be Joey from the School of Motion or Andrew Kramer from Video Copilot just a thought or ;) Looking forward to more content like this :)
My favourite two RUclipsr's battling it out! Amazing video Ben and Jake! If you need a challenger that hasn't touched AE for about two years to give you a chance Ben, you know who to come to. 😂
I really enjoyed the video and had my had my absolute favorite out of two. I also loved the wheat idea it really started looking rural to me right after the wheat appeared even though I didn’t know the word itself before:) I laughed out loud on each client’s comment, that was beautiful thank you guys, I had great time
I enjoyed watching this and felt the stress haha, for 30 minutes these are awesome, also idk about the client but from an artistic standpoint I personally prefer Ben's animation
I thought the same too. I am not a professional designer. I just do that as a hobby, but I definitely believe Ben's version is better and more aesthetically pleasing, but I guess the project wasn't to appeal for a young modern client, rather an old-style client.. which sometimes can be hard especially if you are a young designer influenced by modern styles.
Ariel Costa aka blink my brain please!!!!! you nailed it with the feedback and the brief, it's as if clients get together or have tutorials of their own at being clients
a brief of a movie title sequence, or ident, theyre always predictable and cheesy would be good to see something more artist-led - fantastic video was a real pleasure to watch :)
I can't wait for more, this video was the best surprise! Thank you so much for all the hard work you put into your content. Currently working through MMD :)
Loved the video! ❤ Sometimes the deadline doesn't allow us to make mind-blowing stuff, so it was nice seeing two pros dealing with this situation. I'd be great to see you go against ECAbrams in the future.
I think is amazing the fact you took time to add gradient shadows inside the pit you created to make it look deep. Amazing work both you guys! (You and Jake are absolutely essential people in teaching animation) Greetings from Brazil!
Oh guys, that was so funny and I felt a kind of relief. It was great to see that the masters of motion go through the same problems with client requires, struggle moments and rush time. Great content, cheers!
OMG guys!!!! This was soo much fun to watch!!! I would definitely want to see more of this! Very well thought through and it was a pleasant surprise to see Andrew as well :D. Congrats to all of you for this great production!👏👏👏
This was amazing!!! So much fun. Although I did have to take a second and third look to find where Jake used turquoise... so maybe his score was a little high? :D Awesome video.
Seeing how creative blocks are easily managed by simply thinking outside the problem. Watching random pictures and video could give you the solutions to the problems. Thanks Ben for this video. I love it.
I never expected to see you both competing! I was so stressed to see you both trying to do an animation in 30 minutes. I did sweat badly! This video is a real example of even the best animator has struggled with a brief like that. Looking at your works, I always thought that with your magnificent creativity, animation skills, tools, and experience, you guys wouldn't have the issue of being that frustrated. Still, you felt it, telling me to myself: man, even the masters, have those issues. Thank you, thank you, thank you so much! FIV: I liked both ideas ;-)
This is so good and funny!!! Thank you for putting this together what a great concept and great team to start off! entertaining and insightful :) I am looking forward to the next episodes!
This video has been by far the biggest production on the channel so massive thanks to Andrew and Jake for helping to make it happen! Who would you like me to face off against in upcoming episodes?
Maybe Gareso?
Motion by nick
This was so great! Manon Louart is a great motion designer, especially with typograhpy.
with Sander
van Dijk @Regulus
Why not a woman, this time? Bee Grandinetti, Linn Fritz or Lana Simanenkova...
A legendary battle for the ages! This was a lot of fun.
It was an honor to compete under your perfectly reasonable brief :D
Andrew, I was laughing out loud when I heard the client's feedbacks 🤣 I can kinda relate to all of them :d hahaha. Great job!
The whiteboard in your background 🤣
That was extremely entertaining - great job!
I really love how this mirrors an actual client experience, but with great humor and curveballs thrown in -- even down to the project manager telling the client "no problem!" right near the end!
I cried of laughter with every client interaction, amazing and incredible relatable
This should become a Netflix series!
You listening Netflix? XD
Only if Henry Cavill plays me....
thank you i agree😂😂😂
I can already see the title animation in my head for the the “mograph wars” 😁👍
Haha. Yes and yes. Universe make it happen. 🤓 This was very enjoyable and Ben cracks me up.
Ben spent 25 of the 30 production minutes working on the morph 😂 He's definitely my spirit animal
Sharpening the axe before he made the cut ***
the names Ben Marriott and Jake Bartlet go so well together, idk why
THIS IS FU**ING AWESOME! I love how involved everyone in this video is. Treat to watch!
Designers usually don't like working under pressure, but this kind of game is really a show that people like to watch
Great idea, Ben! The feedback was hilarious and over-the-top and very close to reality.
Favorite client feedback:
'Not what I had in mind'
'I don't know, but I'll know it when I see it'
Precisely!
We need more like this Ben ❤️ you great!
Thanks Shotiko! Hopefully we can push this to 8 seasons before I get recast by a younger actor
@@BenMarriott naaahh... I won't watch it if your role get recasted in the last season
The client feedback was spot on 😂
This is SUCH a damn good idea for a reality show. The way it's spliced together, the random changes, ugh, someone needs to pick this idea up.
This format was excellent! Super repeatable too. Andrew did a great job coming up with realistic client scenarios too 😅
They were inspired by real life events. 😅😣
GAH! The stress was incredible. I imagine this is how people feel watching cooking shows. I'm sure a ton of work goes into these but YOU BOTH DID SO WELL! I would love to see more of these.
That client slides and the way it got presented was incredible
This is gold! Great competition and loved all the hilarious client feedback/wishes
i challenge you ben marriott (unless you’re scared)
I had so much fun and you were awesome guys! Very cool and I can't wait to see what you will do next! THX!

Omg, please please please make this a series!! Amazing job to everyone involved!
such pleasure. lot of fun. thanks, guys
OMG Ben, loving this content! Motion designers are tired of watching the same old motion design tutorials, we need more content like this.

yeah I agree as well
@Parth Dake agreed! Love his work! His movie nothing was soooo good!
My favourite two RUclipsr's battling it out! Amazing video Ben and Jake! If you need a challenger that hasn't touched AE for about two years to give you a chance Ben, you know who to come to. 😂
Haha, thanks Hayley! hopefully we get greenlit for a full season :D
@@BenMarriott Do it!
The UPSET. Well done you two, those were some speedy keyframes!
I really love seeing motion graphic designers compete, it motivates me so much
I really enjoyed the video and had my had my absolute favorite out of two. What a trio. I didn’t know I wanted this, but I knew when I saw it
this is so fun to watch, i think i'll need more like this in the future
Exciting challenge 😊. I learnt a great deal here with the effects used and thinking ability.
I'll be anticipating the next challenge 😁❤️.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! It pushed my thinking to it's limits not having days to think of ideas and nights to sleep on it.
I enjoyed watching this and felt the stress haha, for 30 minutes these are awesome, also idk about the client but from an artistic standpoint I personally prefer Ben's animation
Glad the stress came through the lens! Thanks for supporting the right team. Your cheque is in the mail ;)

Two of my favorite channels. Worlds are colliding!
Please, more of that. Wonderful video idea. A competition against James Curren would be the highlight of my life.
Looking forward to seeing more of these videos!
That was so much fun! And what an amazing job both Jake and Ben have done with such a small amount of time 😯

This is how challenging some clients can be. I love this. Thanks for sharing.
Please make more of these! So good!
This was so so good!
That forgetting to the trim your work area had me in stitches 😂 happens all the time
My anxiety went up at every absurd client feedback 🥶
This is so fun to watch amazing people, not only fun watching, but it makes us understand how you guys think while making something.
Those client feedback cuts sooo deep
the idea is so great and inspiring! The next quest could be Sander van Dujk :)
a brief of a movie title sequence, or ident, theyre always predictable and cheesy would be good to see something more artist-led - fantastic video was a real pleasure to watch :)
