Im from Arkansas so a tree hook would be added to the list being we hunt timber. Them sleds suck until you get them in the water or on frozen grass. We actually put ours on a wagon and pull in. We normally walk 2.5 one way though
I have something to add to your list that not too many may know about. At least I haven't seen it when I googled it. It is an A-Frame for your decoy sled. I made my decoy sled into one and in the X-Large ones from Cabelas you can rig a simple CPVC frame that is detachable and you can connect it to the cover you have or just buy some canvas and glue it on the frame. You can fit two slim hunters in it or a perfect fit for both you and the dog. It works great on somewhat solid/ semi-solid ground. Not too great in boggy areas though. I can email you some pictures if you'd like. You can even convert it into a layout blind. It is very versatile.
I will say that the motion ducks 100% makes all the difference. It was kinda insane how many more birds I was able to sit in my decoys. Duck oven jacket is definitely the goat.
I like the marsh stool idea. I have spots in Southern Nebraska that could come in handy in the reeds. I also agree with the decoy sled. It's a savior in the water when loading and unloading in my kayak.
Good list Josh! Can't believe you went all this time without a marsh seat and sled... But, then again you kinda did in the yak. One more item you will need is a dog stand. I got a great one (Alps) from Roger's on sale last year and I that's my "I can't believe I went so long w/o one" item. I used my sled before that and it works but not like a stand. This year is going to be a game changer for you (Boat & Dog) and I can't wait to see how it goes. Thanks for sharing.
Last year was my first season with a sled. I'll never hunt without one again. Even just picking up decoys from the water is so much easier with a sled.
@@ejcked if you put your time in and know where to go, free roam a lot of times will shoot better than the blinds. He’s hunting out of Kansas and have never seen him hunt out of a refuge blind.
Josh Cora is getting so big . Well you did a good job at the things you need . But I haven`t learned how to Kill them without a Gun and Shells yet . Just kidding Josh Enjoyed it .
1. A psycho dog that you tell people is a good dog. 2. A RUclips channel so you have someone to talk to. 3. A $800 jacket, if it costs any less money you won’t kill ducks 4. Flat bill Sitka hat. 5. Last but not least you need a lifted half ton truck, not a real truck just one that looks like it can go off road.

I'm really looking forward to this season
You made a lot of good points but I’d say the number one thing is that motion in the spread!
Agreed, got keep a ripple on the water
Hey, I just bought a dog while having school 7am-11am and then work from 12pm-5pm, how did you manage a puppy while also having a full time job
Just ordered a motion ducks spreader thanks for making a code!
Hope you enjoy it!
What is that cover on your sled?
Do you bring your dog hunting while on a kayak
Where did you get the cover for the sled???
Last year was my first season with a sled. I'll never hunt without one again. Even just picking up decoys from the water is so much easier with a sled.
They are a game changer!
Hunting in arkansas I never use a decoy with out it being on some sort of motion
What’s going on drought wise in KS? Any info on a good guide up in that area that’s reasonable? Thanks and keep up the great content.
Hey man do u ever deer hunt?
You hunting Iowa this year?
You are right Josh a stool and a sled are nice!!
If I'm walking in to a marsh they are both coming with me!
Piece of hose on the rope makes it much more comfortable for long pulls. Cant wait to see how kora does this season
What kind of sled is that?
I feel bad for anyone who doesn't have a sled! Total game changer. We throw literally everything in there!
Might want a small First Ade Kit
#1 should be a wife who loves to hunt with ya... Makes getting all the goodies easier 😉.
Do you remember where you got your decoy sled?
I went to Rogers Sporting Goods and got it
Bro we’re so I buy a decoy sled?
I can’t believe how long you went without a marsh seat. Granted a lot of your early hunts I watched were out of a kayak
lots of norcal refuges have blinds, therefore I don't have a marsh seat yet
@@ejcked if you put your time in and know where to go, free roam a lot of times will shoot better than the blinds. He’s hunting out of Kansas and have never seen him hunt out of a refuge blind.
Hunting off the rivers in Wyoming I've never had the need or desire for one. We don't have a whole lot of marshy areas though.
That is one cute puppy 🐕
Thank you!
Shotgun, shells, decoys, dog, and TP. That’ll git r done
I would start her on teal ......if you can ... smaller duck. If you don’t have one ( a dog platform) in the water! Get one!!
You need to have “wet ones” game changer in the field 🤟🏻💩
Absolutely. I've had to cut a square out of my underwear to wipe before. Wet ones or even just a chunk of TP is an essential blind bag item.
Josh Cora is getting so big . Well you did a good job at the things you need . But I haven`t learned how to Kill them without a Gun and Shells yet . Just kidding Josh Enjoyed it .
Jerk rigs, marsh stool, jet sled, dog, mtn dew. I can't count how many time I've turned and killed ducks on jerk rigs alone no calling
#1 license # 2 gun # 3 bullets #4 waders # 5 boat
Yes. That goes without saying. These were just extras
Are you worried about Kora getting tangled up in the decoy spreader?
Come out to Washington and I’ll teach you how to use the spreaders the right way
As soon as you said buy an expensive jacket I was out…. Absolutely unnecessary Walmart does the trick
Anyone else eat the duck brains ?
Man you should see if shooting tutorials do anything for you’re view and like problem
A sled expensive??? Not for all the things you can drag in the water. Not expensive..... a necessity!!!!!

That dogs not a psycho. She’s coming along very well. If you want a youtube channel start one. Doubt anyone would wanna watch all your griping
@@dndaughtery I meant in general bud. RUclips hunters are all strange. And yes that dog is most definitely a psycho.
How is it a psycho?
You’d make Walter White jealous with that good looking lab!
Do a pole on RUclips to see what everybody is ready for most
Jacket waterproof, Some sort of boots or waders, Gloves waterproof and a Hat waterproof. These at the 5 things you really need.
Huntin with heikks on RUclips
