Great show of your bag. Nice to see what others bring. Hope you ha e a banger season and you know we love your videos and content!! Appreciate all the work it takes to share with us. 👍🏼🦆🦆
I absolutely love your videos. I am a new hunter that is learning so much from you and the videos that you put up and I want to thank you! I would love it if you posted links to the items that you purchase so I can have a quick reference to look up to purchase something that you’re showing. Like your blind bag. Thank you again!
Thanks Adam! I’m really glad to hear it, a big part of my mission with this channel is to help introduce new hunters to waterfowling. I’ll leave a link to the bag in the comment below this and if you’d like me to link anything else in specific I certainly can too
Coffee, gloves, shells, calls, extra batteries (mojo),knife, branch clippers, black zip ties, bug spray, all this gear goes into a camo hard shell dry box. Most mornings I sit on the dry box. Good video thanks Thomas.
Thanks Sly! I haven't got on the coffee train yet but every season it's getting harder to resist. Zip ties and branch clippers are ones I definitely need to add. Glad to hear other use a dry box as well!
What’s going on brother! How’s everything going for u in 2020? Man so I fish ALOT, Lake Anna, Chickahominy, Potomac and everywhere I can get my boat in! One thing I am dieing to do is waterfowl hunt. I own a Rem 1100 and have never been. Was wondering if you do any guides? Would love to head out one year. But great video, u got a new subb brother!
Heck yeah man, always glad to see new guys getting into it. 2020 has been all over the place for me but I’m looking forward to getting into fall and winter here soon. I don’t do any guiding but I do post on my Instagram and Facebook pages whenever I have open spots to bring people along on hunts. I typically post them on my stories so just keep and eye out come season. I’d recommend joining the “Virginia Duck Hunters” Facebook page since its got a bunch of guys from all over the state and typically some people post in there when they have open spots too. All those places you fish can hold birds but you’ve got to be careful on our rivers east of I95 cause of blind laws which make it illegal to hunt 95% of the areas on those river systems. If you’ve got any questions you can always shoot me a message and I’ll do my best to answer them.
Got an update on your thoughts of the bag and how it's holding up? Tired of all my stuff getting wet when I have to wade into the blind but haven't found a bag that looks like it'd be worth the money.
My go to drink/snacks are redbull and jerky. Our bag contents are pretty similar. I keep a game strap and my licenses in my bag. What’s the story behind the merg mount?
I gotta get a new game strap, lost mine somewhere last season. That was the first merg I ever shot. It was only my second duck hunt, I think I was 13, and for some reason on the drive there I told my dad I wanted to shoot a merganser. I probably hadn't ever seen a merganser before in person but come 9 oclock that one pitched right into the flooded corn impoundment we were hunting. I forgot whose idea it was to get it mounted but it's probably my favorite one I got. That's still the only red-breasted merg I've seen in VA.
Virginia Outdoors Unlimited that’s pretty cool. I’ve seen red breasted mergs hunting eastern side of the state. I’ve only seen commons and hooded here in the valley. Heck I got a banded hooded merg back in 2006.
That's awesome, where was it banded? I've heard the rb mergs are mainly salt and brackish water birds. I don't know what it was doing in an impoundment in central VA.
@@HokeOutdoors I burn a old cork plug from wine and use the ash as face paint burn and apply as needed work great store it in a old pill case in my pocket while out hunting.
What's your go to drink and snacks to bring to the duck blind?
Sweet tea, peach rings and a can of snuff
Some coffee or Redbull with some tasty DOTS Pretzels🔥
Honey buns and peach nehi
Coffee on cold winter hunts... Just water the rest of season, when the hunts over and guns are put up I add Scotch to it...
Chocolate milk on the way there mid morning Cheezetz and drpepper or water

Thanks this video helps because I have only been duck hunting for about 5 years and I’m 13 so yea
Glad to hear it!
Can’t wait for the fist day 🦆
What part of va I’m in Mathews
I go to school in Farmville but I'm from Richmond. Hunted out in matthews some last season

Virginia Outdoors Unlimited it was banded in Ontario Ca in 2002. Got him hunting public land around Farmville.
Good reminder to get packed up. Lol
Won't be long now! Is y'alls goose open Sept 1?
If you're looking for a smaller first aid kit... I use an old altoids can!
Thanks for the idea Ty! I've wanted something a little lighter and that sounds like it would fit the bill
Where in Virginia are you at?
You should do one about dove hunting
I will once we get a little closer to season
Mtn dew, red bull, jerky, and granola bars
Redbull and jerky is the breakfast of champions 👌🏻
@@HokeOutdoorsyes sir.
Nice mantel background.
Thanks guys!!
Do you guide hunts in VA?
I don’t do any guiding
I use a thermocell bug spray with deer can eat the finish of a synthetic gun stock......
I need to get a thermocell before season. A whole bottle of bug spray won't last some of our teal and goose hunts
Face paint game strap for your duck and geese
Yeah I need to get a new strap and a new thing of face paint for this season
@@HokeOutdoors I burn a old cork plug from wine and use the ash as face paint burn and apply as needed work great store it in a old pill case in my pocket while out hunting.
i don’t leave the house without tp because as soon as i get cold you know....
Lol yup, every time
Switch to baby wipes. They are a lot more versatile than Tp
Replace the TP with dude wipes save space and affective
PLG Outdoors bet they are cold during the winter. It’s cold enough as it is. Don’t need nothing else freezing up.
sam wilkes don’t really haft to worry bout the cold here in Texas
I don’t hunt much so I don’t have all the equipment but I’m a Pepsi guy
Link for dry bag?
I don't have a link for it. You can find that type of dry bag on amazon or any outdoor retail store though
@@HokeOutdoors what size is it?
@@HokeOutdoors large or extra large bag?
@@jonathanhall7328 large I think, not 100% sure and it doesn’t say on the bag
Need a duck strap bud
I had one but I must've lost it. I'll have to get a new one before September
Upland bird hunting gear
I wish VA had more upland bird hunting opportunities, what specific gear do you keep in your bag for upland hunts?
Leather man.
1st
Take a pack of dude wipe instead of the toilet paper
