Im 16 so I don't have to much money to spend plus Im saving up for a truck. I made my own decoys out of old water bottles i just cut it some what in the shape of a dove and spry painted the color of a dove and I put them out to see if it would work and the came in so they did work but if you got the money I would just get the decoys.
Hey man, I’m 16 too, only one in my house who hunts. To get money I just work hard during the summer. If you can you should work all year part time. Don’t spend too much money on a truck, they only lose value. Have a good one.
great idea I personally don't use decoys in South texas I just walk my 10 ac for a stalk and hunt I hunt all day to limit out and its great work out for me I'm 35 and fat so I could use all the exercise i can get I always carry a water container and take brakes. in south texas special season is 12 to night fall so I get a good 6 hrs of walking unless I limit out then that's a great day
I hunt in my land so I don't bring much tan pants work boots brown or green shirt a camo cap and a dove vest with bags for ammo and birds 100 rounds no decoys since I walk and stalk next to the trees I get cover from the trees and I spook them if they are hiding a semi auto with modified cil choke and a black water container to keep hydrated.
$1000 for some hearing protection?! You got me FFFFFFFFFUCKED UP!! Unless some one is shooting a 10 gauge magnum load literally next to your ear it’s completely unnecessary and even then it’s STILL unnecessary.
Its necessary if you want to go to sleep without your ears ringing or having to say what??? Or huhh??? Every time someone asks you something I’m 17 and never wore hearing protection growing up because it was always “be a man” or “you don’t need it” now i go to sleep every night with ringing in my ears and it makes it hard to sleep and really aggravates me tinnitus is real and it sucks bro you do you but trust me it’s necessary
Yea I agree with the hearing protection at 53 yo. I never wore anything ever, not even running saws on a job, never, always was “be a man,” or “what are you,..a fairy?”,…. So yea boys protect those ears. It will make your wife and kids like you a lot better in the future, and you can hear a TV without blasting out the room. (Don’t even get me started on these id*ots destroying their ears with this boom boom boom “music” in the vehicle. Gotta learn the hard way.
What all do you need to hunt public dove fields? Do you have to call and say you’ll be there or have permission? I don’t have any where to hunt and been seeing stuff about public dove fields not too far from me
Have you lost your razor, son? The most heart-warming thing about hunting doves and other game with a gun is having a well-trained, loyal and loving K9 companion afield. The hunting dog is important for the conservation of game and the dog can even let you know if birds are coming in case you did not see them of hear them yourself. I am troubled by all these dove hunting videos I see this day and age without the employment or retrieving dogs afield. About 33% of shot doves are never recovered. Humans do not have a dog's keen senses to find birds in cover. There is a serious waste problem. Dogs solve this problem for the most part. I like the notion of hunting with dogs for just old-fashioned charm. No, I don't want to spend time and energy combing through a sunflower or corn field for one or more dropped birds. There might be snakes hiding out there. The only "boy" I might have is a male Lab or golden. A retriever, K9 type, can also swim. Doves popped on the wing can and do fall into watering holes. Poison ivy....another good reason for a K9 in the dove field!
Never put your doves on the ground, No one ever talks about the fire ants that will get to them if you leave them on the ground sittin next to your chair. Bring a bucket to put them in!
Is it irish coffee? I'm joking people don't rail me. I know he ain't gonna be hitting the snoot while shooting guns. It just struck me funny. I know I know I'm a weirdo and not funny.
The DOVE SALE is going on right now at Rogers Sporting Goods: www.rogerssportinggoods.com/rogers-sales-flyer

@@ShortStackLarps I still wouldn’t spend more than $10-$20 on some hearing protection. For $1000 I’d rather buy me a new gun

Found a company that makes a sweet sleeve that goes over a 5 gallon bucket and it carries everything a hunter would need to kill doves.
What’s the link bro
In my back field all season long all we kill is doves decoying into the mojos
Hey josh just a tip you can use 9 volt batteries in those dove mojos to
I've done that, but it seems like the wings spin way too fast
@@OutdoorLimitsi run 4 or 5 mojos we will put 9 volts in like 2 of them makes it look diffrent
Do you use rechargeable batteries?
@@TheMathews00man no i have but i quit using them
