As a Rocker, is there a band that I'm unlikely to have heard of? Or is there a song that's under the radar from a big band??
You're not into rock? - no problem give me a group from Hip/Hop, RnB, Rap , pop etc.
I love learning about new bands and different types of music. I Cant wait to hear from you all.
Join me on this musical journey! Much love,
Michael Azimov 🎶

wife and I see them every year at the CNE in Toronto in the summer- a real Canadian tradition! love them so much!
I actually love the organ solo, I think it gives BR a unique sound, but then I’m bias as I love every thing Blue Rodeo!
Jim of the perfect pitch Cuddy. Don't underestimate Greg Keelor either. They're both amazing vocalists and that organ was a signature of this song and set it apart from everything else on the radio at that time. I thought it made the tune very haunting.
There is such a song, its called "Child in Time" by Deep Purple
one of my fav bands. they arent really country...they are a mix of country, folk.... i've heard someone say they are their own genre lol. Jim Cuddy, the lead singer of this song, has one of the best male voices in my opinion. some of my fav songs of theirs is Hasn't hit me yet, Bad Timing, 5 days in May, Lost Together. Awesome Canadian band, but, not too many people outside of Canada know of them, unfortunately. and, the organ sounded fine to me 😁
Great Canadian band with a truckload of fantastic songs - great live band as well - here are a few of their songs- Bad timing, Hasn't Hit Me Yet, Lost Together, 'Til I Am Myself, Head Over Heals, 5 Days in May, Rose Coloured Glasses, After The Rain - to name but a few - cheers.
Love this band and have seen them live a couple of times. Jim and Greg are both amazing vocalists. My favourite by them is not one of their huge hits, try Falling Down Blue from the album Tremelo.
Jim Cuddy is an amazing singer. I would say Blue Rodeo is on the country edge of rock.Their other lead singer Greg Keillor is also great, I love Lost Together and Til I am Myself Again.
Diamond Mine and Five Days In May are, IMO, their greatest songs
It's weird, I didn't used to like the organ sound, I always thought it was a bit cheesy, but I guess it depends on the song, but I sure do love Jim Cuddy's voice ! I highly recommend you check out House of dreams, and Bulletproof, and Bad timing from this band, all awesome songs
Chest Fever by the Band and Firth of Fifth Genesis, also Thick as a Brick Tull
All require organ 👍
Agreed, the organ can feel a bit out of place as in a song like this, and esp. where they sometmies overdo it live, but this is still a great band. Love the organ in Charlatans songs like Weirdo, Over Rising, The Only One I know... Inspiral Carpets (Commercial Reign, Draggin me Down...) and other Manchester sound bands.
Check out Blue Rodeo live (Hasn't hit me yet on Leno and Trust Yourself on Letterman though this is an example where the organ player was overzealous), and the video for Diamond Mine.
My Dad intriduced me to a band called Beetles.
Could you play some of that.
Dad says they stole their music from American blacks
Thank you! Not country though 😊 ….. on the Organ have you done “Whiter Shade of Pale” by Procul Harem (the live version in Denmark)
A few more notable songs with Organ solos - House of the Rising Sun -Animals, With a Little Help from My Friends - Joe Cocker, Child in Time - Deep Purple, Light My Fire - Doors, Like a Rolling Stone - Bob Dylan (with Al Kooper), In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida - Iron Butterfly, Soul Sacrifice - Santana, Runaway - Del Shannon,
When a Man Loves a Woman - Percy Sledge, Magic Carpet Ride - Steppenwolf, Time of the Season - Zombies, Sugar, Sugar - Archies, Hush - Deep Purple, Break on Through (To the Other Side)- Doors, You’re a Strange Animal - Gowan, I'm a Believer - Monkees,A World Without Love - Peter & Gordon, Money - Pink Floyd, Time Is on My Side - Rolling Stones, Oye Como Va - Santana, Fly Like an Eagle - Steve Miller Band, Baba O'Riley - Who, Good Lovin' - Young Rascals, She's Not There - Zombies
These are the ones I personally know I’m sure there are others …. The Hammond organ was big especially in the 60’s and 70’s but did continue to the 80’s and 90’s but less frequently as gave way to the synth sound.
Dont even know who you are.
