- In this video I am continuing rebuilding my Honda CB 400 to a cafe racer - hybrid brat-scrambler styled motorcycle. Yes. I know. It makes no sense. Watch this video and you will probably understand. Or not.

Bigger fender looks better. Those shock mount brackets what you made are insane. So cool. Can't wait to see next video.
Thanks, glad u liked them 😊
Bulky one looks best
Thanks for your vote 👍
awesome fabrication! those shock mounts are brilliant...2nd mudguard for the win.
Thanks for your vote 👍 happy to hear that you like the rebuild 😊
Bulky fender 😎
Aiai, noted! 😊
I like the bulky one. Very cool progress so far.
Noted! 😊 I do hope it will turn out decently finally 🤞
Your videos are great! I’m hooked! Amazing job my friend. I like the bulky fender.
Thanks 🙏 I agree, the bulky is best 😊
Hahaha, would be much cooler to see you moonwalk into frame 😂 Another really enjoyable video to watch. I'm really learning stuff for every video. Almost make me want to try something like this my self. 👏🏻 High quality and really nice to see you so comfortable in front of the camera. Keep it up mate 🙌🏻
Moonwalk, great idea 💡😁 Thanks for the positive feedback Thomas! I'm trying my best to learn and improve for each video. Very glad to hear your thoughts, makes me even more motivated for the next 😊🙏
Definitely the chunky fender. It gives more aesthetic balance to the bulky tank at the front end.
The small one looks all the wrong proportions from front to rear
You're right 👍😊
Yep, bulky looks best to me as well🙂
Seems to be what most people think, thanks a lot for your comment 😊
I also vote for the bulky fender. Oh, and I noticed the 80's themed background music to go with your 80's Honda / tank design
Thanks for the vote! Very cool you noticed the 80s themed music, it was selected on purpose 😁
@@kihestad of course it was!. Is this build still going to be for your son? Or now for you?
Well, since the build has taken so long time I bought him a Honda XL500S to use until the cafe racer is done. Now he says that he might just want to keep the XL500 instead because it is so fun to ride 😝 Not sure yet how this is going to end...
yep Bulky fender looks best to me too
Thanks! Seems like the bulky one is what most like 😊
Bulky one looks best to me 😀
Thanks 👍
Looks great and yeah the bulky one looks best
Thanks, glad to hear that 🤩 seems like we agree 💯
I'd go with the chunky fender to match the bikes existing aesthetics. Coming along nicely
Thanks 🙏😊
Bulky 👍👍
Thanks for your vote 👍👍
Bulky fender looks best and the new bent hoop is just right.
Glad to hear that 🤩
Bulky one looks best!
Thanks for your vote! 😊
Another good video....Thanks!... My 10 cents worth: Seat hoop up just a bit more so that is is parallel to the angle at the rear of the tank. Bulky fender trimmed at the front....Now where can I find an old bike to modify?...
Be careful with thoughts like that!
I innocently thought that once...
Now my garage contains 5 wheels, 2 sets of forks, 3 seats, 2 fuel tanks, several crank cases, 4 carbs, and I don't know how many gasket sets!
It was supposed to be a lock-down project, but so far all I've achieved is having the largest Suzuki GS250T spare parts collection in the South East of England!
I think you're right. I just noticed it myself: perhaps the oddly shaped tank is a bit less odd if it goes in parallel to the tilted rear seat hoop. Glad to hear you noticed the same 🤩🤩🤩 One more vote for the bulky fender! And yeas: it definitely needs to be modified/ trimmed at the front.
Haha, becoming a motorcycle hoarder is dangerously easy 😂 I currently have 5 motorcycles 🤣
@@kihestad On paper I have 3... Although the amount of GS250 parts might make the count close to 3.5.
To me the slim one is a bit too slim, but the bulky one is also too bulky. I guess it is possible to trim it, but it is an incredibly difficult task to get it done right. Just go for bulky then.
My dad has has a piece of railway track for as long as I remember, and now I see you using one. It just crossed my mind, that maybe I am grown up enough to have my own.
Aha, exactly what I have been thinking. I might try to trim the bulky fender a bit. I am afraid it can be difficult to recreate the bend that goes along the edge if I chop it off, but it might be worth the try 😬
The piece of the railway track I use as an anvil is perhaps the oldest 'tool' I have. My father used it in his workshop, and I got to keep it when he passed away many years ago. A piece of a railway track can be so much more than a piece of a railway track 😔😊
Kul att följa ditt bygge. Syns att du är en duktig ”fabricator”, kommer bli bra det här. Bra tempo i videon också 👍
Tack! 🙏 Snart klar med ny video hvor jeg gjør ferdig seat hoop'en 😊
Amazing so far, bulky one looks better.
Thanks! It seems like it's gonna be the bulky one 😊
go scrambler, you'll. have a much more balanced bike, just use the long mudguard, fit higher handlebars, a higher front mudguard. and it will look great
Thanks for the tips! 😊 I have already bought a new handlebar, it's a bit higher than the current one!
I think the small one looks more in keeping with the front mudguard, at least matching the profile.
Is the bulky one for a Suzuki? It looks like a GN250 or GS250 one too me...
(Or maybe I just spent too long looking for a rear mudguard for my own GS250, and now everything looks like them!).
Are you going to be adding any splash guard in front of the rear wheel to save the back of your legs if you get caught in the rain?
BTW, fuel tank capacity, be careful with gallons, the US managed to mess that up and got a smaller gallon than the UK imperial gallon (they have 16 fluid ounce pints instead of 20)... Yeah, I know, litres is much easier 🤣
Sorry to confuse the vote! Currently the bulky (Suzuki?) mudguard is winning.
First vote for the slim one 😬 seen from the side profile the slim one makes sense, but from behind it seems a bit tiny. Perhaps. Not sure 😆 so there are UK and US gallons, I did not know that. I am somehow not surprised 😂
It seems like it. Regarding splash guard: I have not thought about it. It have plenty of motorcycles, and this one will probably not be the one I pick for the most rainy days 😊
Bulky one for sure. I have the same bike i bought a couple of years ago but haven´t had the knowledge or time to fix it. Planning to build a cafe/brat as well. The thing is that it´s a CB250 on paper and with a 250cc engine. I have read that these engines are really weak though, so I got hold of a 400cc (which looks exactly the same - same frame). Do you know if it´s possible to reg. the bike as a 400cc when it´s on paper a 250? I know the 400 had dual breaks, which I have aquired as well. I´m from Sweden by the way. Hallå från Sverige! :D
Hey, it looks like the bulky fender is the way to go 😊 I am not sure about the regulations in Sweden, here in Norway it's pretty difficult to upgrade the existing engine or swap to a bigger one than what is standard. You have to document with papers from the manufacturer to get it approved. That can be a big challenge for old vehicles 😔 I think maybe the regulations in Sweden is not as strict as here in Norway, but I am not sure 🤔
Do not install any fender, just avoid riding in the rain. As for me, both fenders look out of place.
Well you see, I live in Norway. It's more or less raining all the time here 😝
@@kihestad Oh in this case it makes a whole lot of sense to install fender. Use bulk one :)
