    18:44 Let's gooo! I reported the presence of the Alstom Siemems Mix btw. I was heading back home when I noticed a strange consist of R160s on the (F) at 179th Street (Uptown). At first I thought it was a normal set but when I saw the numbers I was SHOCKED. So I had to inform everyone that the Alstom siemens mix will run on the (F) to Coney Island.

    If either the metal or softshell set is chosen, I hope to expect that the MTA does not trash/scrap the option that was not chosen. It can a be a rare prototype set running. Like if the soft-shell is chosen and the second order si exercised, then I do want to at least see the "metal" one not thrown away, but at least used! Same can be said vice versa!

  • @BrIaNMeRcY1022
    @BrIaNMeRcY1022 Год назад +2

    There have been a ton of developments in the subway since Fall 2022. A lot of the information I have provided was touched upon in this video as well as the planned assignments for the R211's. Of which I won't go any further since I'll be proven correct in two years' time. The one development I heard I am keeping it to myself since it will become known very soon. I expect the R46 retirement to begin sometime in the Fall.
    As a tie-in to this video, the MTA is slated to begin Crosstown CBTC this year. In addition to awarding Fulton Street IND CBTC in 2023. With 6th Avenue being awarded in 2024. Due to 6th Avenue CBTC and 63rd Street CBTC, it will force the (B) (D) and (Q) lines to be 100% NTT. Meaning the (N) and (W) would have no choice but to use R68/A's.

    • @Techno-ov5ss
      @Techno-ov5ss  Год назад +1

      Indeed there have. Thank you for providing all of the info, it was definitely a massive help, as well as for your additional info here. I do hope the MTA has learned from the past, and doesn’t get too scrap-happy. Although Broadway will be stuck with the OTTs, I realize that it won’t be as bad as people make it out to be, since it’ll be a 50/50 split (Q/R Vs N/W). Astoria may be the most vocal about it however

    • @BrIaNMeRcY1022
      @BrIaNMeRcY1022 Год назад

      @@Techno-ov5ss The final say will come down to operational needs when 6th Avenue CBTC comes online. Astoria residents will just have to put up with the R68/A's till the mid-2030's. The MTA will be severely handicapped having SMEE's continue to run on the (Q) line. I'll keep my eyes peeled when 6th Avenue CBTC is awarded.

    Here are my calculations on what the rough R211 Car Assignments may be
    -A/C and Rockaway Park Shuttle (Pitkin+207): 740 R211's (up from 680 in (5-car) equivalents; only =630 needed to run the (C) every 5 minutes and both (A) branches and shuttle every 10).
    -E/F/R (Jamaica): 765 R211's, 355 R160's (1120 total with 40 spares each, down from 1290).
    -D (Concourse): 335 R160 Alstom sets
    -B/Q/G (Coney Island Yard):
    600 R160's/130 (5-car) R179's of which 560 would be in service (MTA may want to do something about Jamaica Yard being over capacity, which is why I have the G back here, and the reduction above)
    -N/W (Coney Island) 416 R68's + 200 R68A's, of which ... 264 would be in service. Yes, that's 352 spares, or 44 trains...
    -J/Z: 188 (4-car) R179's, 40 Borrowed R160A-1's (23+5 trains; J/Z currently use 20 during AM Rush hours)
    -L: 212 R143's, 64 R160A-1's (34 trains; L currently uses 24)
    -M: 268 R160A-1's, 32 R211's (33+4 trains; M currently uses 24)

      Interesting. The (A/C) could receive more R211s than anticipated. 74 consists would be wild. Would also be crazy seeing Jamaica have more R211s than R160s as well. Whatever occurs, I'm merely on a wait-and-see basis

    • @jonathancho8807

      A and C Train will probably get 57 or 59 consists. While Jamaica receives up to 91 to 93 consists. It will increase to 1290 cars to 1455 to 1475 cars and makes the G Train full length trains at 10 cars each

    The MTA has excluded the 90th Street - Elmhurst Avenue Station as part of the 7 Line Renovations. They must realize that the station is also old and ugly like the ones that are slated to be renovated. Why would they not include the 90th Street Station? I go there once in a while but what I’ve been noticing is that there is peeling paint present inside the station and one of the street exits are in dire need of repairs. May I know if the MTA will or will not include the 90th Street Station. We should inform the MTA about this before the renovations begins for the stations that are slated to be worked on. 😊

    Aside from spare fleet and general fleet expansion, I don’t see 4 car sets making sense, I was doing the math and most all ‘4 car set lines’ don’t need R211s, there already NTT equipped, the C will run 10 car R211s bc the 8 car R46s it runs now need 10 car R211s to replace capacity, so the C will be half&half being 8 car R179s and 10 car R211s.
