I used to shoot every single match with a P365, got B class that way shooting from appendix back when having a holster infront of your hips bumped you up to open division.
What holster are you using? Also, I am starting to believe that a heavier gun can actually be more comfortable since it isn't always trying to fight itself on the fulcrum of your belt line.

I wish I had this mentality early on. Although I still like to try things out to see if there's a better solution for me personally. But as of now, the G45 and G19x are my two primary pistol options. I'm 6'3 so the larger grip isn't an issue and is also a requirement for my hands. But the guns just work. And work very well. I did get a M9A4 recently so we'll see how that goes. I also like the ergos on the M18 quite a bit but it's hard to beat the logistics of Glock.
Running a Springfield 1911 in 45 with a Ruger sp101 in 357 as backup. EDC all day everyday. Never felt I needed to carry anything else, but a P320 or G17 has caught my eye with the 17 and 21 round mags... lots of capacity with minimal reloading.
I like them all, My go to is the 9mm GX4 By Taurus. I am on a budget that is tight I like the way it handles, I like the fit in my hand and i never had a jam or malfunction but one time. that was me not pulling the slide back and letting it go right. I is easy to conceal carry. Draw back is it only holds 12 rounds and the slide has a screw lock on the slide. when you clean it you have to urn the screw. It does not have a safety and you do not want to drop it. It will make for a bad day. My other is from law enforcement trade in. 9mm berretta. nice gun full size, this is the one I love to take to the range or when I open carry. This is a very good gun. never had any issues with it. handles nice and smooth action. defiantly can tell the difference between the two.
I just got a shadow systems MR920 foundation series the other day. Went to the range the next day and shot around 235-240 rounds. I had 1 failure to feed with Hornady american gunner 124 grain +p and the front sight post came loose. Cleaned it all up and made sure to clean the front sight post screw threads and loctited it with 243 loctite and also the rear sight. Going to the range tomorrow to put some more down range. No failure to extract, double feeds, light primer strikes. Hopefully it stays that way. I've got a good feeling. This and a Dan Wesson 1911 A2 I shot best with. That's saying something for shadow systems in my opinion. I hope they continue to evolve and keep getting better. Not kissing their ass, I just prefer american made and this company from what I've heard takes care of their customers. 🇺🇸
Not sure how you will feel about this but I edc a 19x. I deep clean the pistol after every range trip. By this I mean FULL disassembly of the slide and frame. Overkill, but the handgun looks BRAND new even tho it has well past 3k rounds through it (minus holster wear on the slide). I’m ocd with my guns lol
Big 🧠. My EDC is a G43X MOS, and SHTF/ combat sidearm is the G17. I’ve tried rebelling and have carried CZ and SIG in the past, but I shoot glock the best so I’ve finally just given in to the tactical 2x4.
Facts. My go to are a Glock 48MOS or Glock 49, depending on dress. 48 has a Holosun and 49 has a SRO. Carry both with a TRL7sub in either a Sidecar or Eclipse AIWB holster. Agonic or T1C belt.
I like my EDC, sig p365 XL with romeo zero. I also love my PSA dagger, which is a Glock clone but I like it a bit better because the handle is thicker which is good for my paws.
🧠 I always recommend people I talk to about CCW to get a glock19 or m&p2.0 compact. imo the m&p has a better grip out of the box and comes with metal sights at the same price of a g19. I'd recommend the Dagger most definitely for a first EDC gun to see if they like glock style/m&p style guns, then when they want to upgrade, to go for the latter. The Dagger is an excellent first handgun and a good pistol to train with/use as backup for whatever. smaller guns I'd recommend for people that actually want to CC and want a smaller print (365, 43x, shield). Other than some stuff I agree Trench!

Since 2006 I've only Carried 3 Pistols . G19 , P229 or XR920 . As I get older I'm not willing to go back to G19 sized . I would much rather have Full size grip . That's why I carry XR920 . I actually no longer own a pistol that has compact grip . Of course I have compacts that my dad gave to me but I'm talking about pistols I've actually bought . I only own 3 9mm pistols because they are the only pistols I actually shoot . Shadow Systems XR920 Combat is my primary EDC. My CZ / CGW Custom SP01 SAO O.R. is mydduel purpose pistol . It can be used for HD or Competition. My CZ / CGW Custom Shadow 2 SAO O.R. is my primary Competition pistol. If my CZ Shadow 2 goes down for whatever reason at a Match then my SP01 can pick up the slack . I have little over 9k thru my XR920 and only issue I've ever had was around 2.5k mark. My grip would always depress the mag RELEASE. Switched to tango down mag release and 7k rounds with 0 issues. I have little over 3k in total thru my CZs . I was using X5 LEGION but made the switch to SAO pistols . I had almost 20k on my X5 and it's an awesome pistol . I just think CZ Shadow 2 SAO O.R. is a better pistol.
🧠 I carried a Glock 43 for years and just upgraded to the Sig P365 Xmacro Comp. Similar in size when using a plus 2 base pad on the g43 but sigs 17 + 1 is insane for how well it conceals.
🧠The main consideration for pistol owning is going to be concealed carry. Every prepared citizen should own a concealed carry pistol, something they covertly carry on their body in public. So I disagree with your first assertion. I think if you don't own a dedicated CCW you should get one, get a G43x or a P365x, train with it. I just got a new 365x and had a blast breaking it in at the range. Every other type of pistol is going to be less necessary than CCW. For home defense you should have a rifle, or at least a shotgun or PCC.... for any sort of paramilitary use, again rifle is much more important than pistol. 99% of people will never need a pistol for paramilitary use. For "Duty" use, if you need one you are issued one, so not much decision making in that regard, your department will tell you what you need to have. A competition pistol is great to have and fun to shoot, but should be prioritized after you have a ccw and home defense rifle squared away, and depending on your priorities also after you have all your paramilitary gear squared away. You might say, well Trench said I need to have a pistol for CQB, I would say, before you will need a pistol for CQB you will need squared away duty rifle, plate carrier with lvl4's, ballistic helmet, medical gear and medical training, and squad that you train with. If you can check all those boxes then sure get yourself a full size striker or DA/SA for CQB. I agree revolvers and 1911's have no place outside of recreation in current year.

I get the point your making about revolvers being antiquated. The only reason I disagree with you about revolvers is you are talking about EDC carry. Some 38 special revolvers are very small and very easy to conceal compared to the options you showed on the video. Was happy about your number 1 pick though I totally agree the dagger is a great option.
I run Canik's because of the quality and value and awesome triggers. I put more money into regular FTX training because training trumps everything so that you can shoot whatever gun your given and be good with it.

The P365 is so easy to shoot for such a small gun. You can really put it to work.
