James Cameron Has Had Enough Of 4K Reviews

- Опубликовано: 11 сен 2024
- In this video, I dive into James Cameron's recent comments about 4K Blu-ray reviewers and his rather blunt suggestion that they need to "move out of their mom's basement".
While Cameron's choice of words might be a bit harsh, there's an interesting conversation to be had about the state of physical media, film criticism, and the value that reviewers bring to the table. I’ll be sharing my thoughts on both sides of the argument-why Cameron might have a point, but also why his comments could be seen as dismissive of a passionate community.

I won’t move just because James Cameron tells me to
Ha ha. Brilliant.

Message to Mr Cameron, I'm a well educated, professional who owns his own basement and a house that sits a top it, too. But I'm also a film fan who loves, among other things, beautiful restorations and pours a lot of money into his hobby. He might want to get to know his audience a little better.
Yeah, when a professional critic gets paid to evaluate this release and he says “move out of your mom’s basement,” that frankly comes across as petty, IMO.
I, too, fall into this camp. I haven't lived with my parents since I was twenty. Also, I own my own home (with a basement). Cameron is a strange fellow in his old age. A curmudgeon? I think so.
@@jeffcarlin5866 A petty curmudgeon who doesn't want to believe that he makes mistakes.
"Move out of those houses your mom bought you!" - also James Cameron.
No one who lives on the internet is educated period!
You should get what you pay for. If you pay for premium priced 4K you should get a premium experience.
Yes, and we should also have with the 4K a physical Blu-ray as well and digital. Like it’s been for years and for some reason, the industry has decided that for some reason you don’t get a Blu-ray anymore. But yet you pay the same price.
@@Swiftrabbit87 nah, the added bluray is unnecessary most of the time, unless the price of the 4K is still unchanged
@@Swiftrabbit87the reason they were doing that is for people who hadn’t yet adopted the format. 4k discs have been out since 2016, so how long do you do on producing two formats in one package? Maybe they can charge less, but that’s not how capitalism works unfortunately. Also, the world needs less plastic.
The same goes for a James Cameron storyline.
@@Swiftrabbit87 I agree 100%
It's also mocking the people who restore and master film professionally, do it well, and are praised for it.
They must be union workers who do the restorations. Just like they make American cars.
So true.
I don't live in my mom's basement, my mom lives in my attic.
Now that sounds like a Horror movie.
She is ALIVE!
RIGHT???
😂😂
😂
Cameron approved the worst 4k of all time T2. Enough said.
True Lies surely takes the cake now, though.
Also, there was supposed to be a remaster for T2 coming soon, but hearing that, I lost a lot of hope.. :/ Still hope there will be some studio who goes back in the pipeline and gets rid/weakens the DNR and delivers from a proper native 4K 2D master as well (I very much doubt we got native 4K there, looks like a 2K upscale).
The extended cut is still not remastered, so that's the reason I hope when working on that at some point, they'll go through the whole thing and hopefully improve upon what we got now.
@@dennisjungbauer4467 With all the CGI at that time, there definitely is no 4K master existing. Will always be a 2K blow-up. Just like Lord of the Rings or the Star Wars Prequels.
@@mercatorjubio3804 What? While they may not be actual optical effects, the CGI work was composited onto film and they have done a 4K scan of the 35mm film (negative?). It wasn't just a 2K DI upscale.
That said, the UHD BD surely looks like upscaled 2K, but I think it's because sth. went wrong and they used a 2K master for 3D. There is more detail though, despite the DNR, and they _have_ done a new scan..
@@dennisjungbauer4467 Okay, if you say so. However from what I have learned no company goes the extra mile to do a fresh scan of the 35mm film and then once more adds in the CGI over that, as if it were for the original release. Didn't happen with the films I mentioned. I wish it would have.
Cameron absolutely did not "approve" a 4K. He approved a 3D theatrical re-release. Hence all the CGI touchups to a 2K DI. Now from there Lightstorm gave Studio Canal a 4K package upscaled. Lightstorm creative dept. is responsible more than Cameron for that who only approved work done for a theatrical presentation. And for that to be delivered to home video
Is it more simple than that. Billionaires do not want to be criticised. Period.
God help their family.
Cameron has proved himself to be a real jerk to his fans and crew for as long as I can remember.
And his wives.
@@wesleyhill7721 Yeah they keep making him sleep in the basement.
Yet people get upset every time as if this is news. Stop idolizing famous people!
Problem is the fans feel like Cameron owes them something, and Cameron feels like fans should be grateful for what he sells them.
I don't take anything he says seriously after he said testosterone was a poison.
He says a lot of crazy shit, don't take it personally. The man is a visionary and one of a kind when it comes to film. That's where that relationship should end. People taking his weird BS seriously gets old tiresome
He said testosterone is a poison?! I gotta find that.
A visionary? All he did was rip off an episodeof outer limits and then remake alien then remake is outer limits ripoff. And those are his best movies@@jsc315
he hasnt had a good movie since 1994
It's simple, Cameron isn't a film restoration expert, he's a director first and foremost. While I would generally love for the OG director to work on getting these films restored, maybe they are not the best judge of what to and what not to correct in the restoration process.
I don't agree with your assessment about this matter. The directors should be the best judge on what to or not correct in the restoration process of their movies as they are the main anchor on making of films. That bieng said, in this particular case, it's more of james Cameron not giving two shits about presenting his movies how they originally looked. He doesn't care and it's a terrible shame that he wants his movies to look like avatar.
@@marlonrobalino Sometimes directors are too close AKA George Lucas. The funny thing about art is once its released in some ways it no longer belongs to the artist.
He builds submarines
No I think the director has some pretty important input as to what a 4K transfer should be, They can either come out like a really low effort basic crap like what Disney puts out for its 4K discs, or it can just be a terrible transfer alike too much blue saturation or some s*** like that... So with the director you have a more clear vision as to what this transfer should be like
I’ve always felt James Cameron was a narcissistic asshole. You see that in the way he has treated fans over the years, like when he refused to sign any autographs during the premiere of Avatar 2. I understand him wanting to defend his hard work, but getting personal and nasty was uncalled for. It shows a lack of maturity in him.
and wives , been divorced 3 times 😅
im not in the basement i got my own wing 😂
Nice
Luck 🍀
James Cameron doesn't do what James Cameron does, for James Cameron. James Cameron does what James Cameron does because James Cameron is... James Cameron.
His name is JAAAAAAAAAAAAMES CAMERON,
THE GREATEST PIONEER!
NO BUDGET TOO STEEP
NO SEA TOO DEEP
WHO'S THAT? IT'S HIM!
JAMES CAMEROOOON
Take the comma out, makes no sense.
People like him seem to forget if it wasent for us so called losers, he wouldnt be a billionaire. We the fans made him who he is, you can make the best films in the world but if no one buys a ticket or a physical copy, you wont get anywhere. He likes to change history, and thinks we should agree with him and gets a shitty on if you dont.
Actually he’s a billionaire for everyone else buying a ticket not the sub-sub-sub niche.
He doesn’t owe you anything, but you also don’t owe him anything either.
🙄 This guy is selling 4K blue rays, and the only people who buy these things-at a premium, mind you-are folks that really care about image quality. The whole point of upgrading to 4K is to achieve a superior image quality. So to act like people should stop complaining about that is insane. It’s a visual art form. The way things look is important. When people spend their hard-earned money on a premium product and it doesn’t deliver, they have a right to complain. Cameron is a jerk.
100% Agree!
While collectors can be too critical about grain scrubbing, Cameron's recent 4K releases are a whole other issue with their AI upscaling and grain removal. With some releases we are too touchy about this topic but the True Lies release especially deserves to get publicly trashed. Cameron's recent "restorations" are not the right direction for the medium.
I’d say the big problem is the AI upscaling. The grain scrubbing is generally fine, but it can be taken too far.
We shouldn’t be charged $30 or more when True Lies looks like shit.
It doesn't look like shit. Looks amazing on my OLED.
But it's still better than anything else available, so suck it up
Will stick with my old releases where the cast don’t look like rubber.
4k uhd shouldn't be charged more when the product is guaranteed to be degraded in this case, i mean seeing Jamie lee Curtis in anything other than blurry 720p is pure torture in my book.
@greaseball9537 it's not degraded. You're still getting a serious bump in detail, DNR or not.
I’ve NEVER seen James Cameron taking criticism like an artist should. NEVER!
Living proof that being a talented and arguably even groundbreaking doesn’t prevent an artist from being a total dick.
Which is hilarious considering how much of a demanding hardass he is to everyone. No wonder the dude was married 5 times.
@@fonkenful Linda Hamilton said so after his "I'm The King Of The World" shout at The Oscars. "He's always been a Dick".
@@fonkenful absolutely, mate. James Cameron is one of the greatest visionaries in history, but he’s also a complete dick. No wonder why most people who have worked with him ,don’t want to repeat.
@@davidjames579 Yeahhh, most people who have worked with him. Even two of his daughters said that he was a terrible father, which is obviously a shame.
It's a classic narcissist response to criticism. James should just shut up and make pretty pictures and sounds, that's all his audience wants. He's forgetting the people who made him.
Sorcerer Q&A with William Friedkin. Audience member: "the greens are too bright" Bill (laughing) "F**k off" ;)
I wish I lived in my mothers basement. Imagine the collection! Turns out that now she's living in mine because, ya know, circle of life. Fuck James Cameron.
No Bidenomics is why your mom is living with you now and vice versa.
Tell us how you REALLY feel about James "In his feelings" Cameron.
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
He should be more respectful with such answers, since we are the ones that are buying it and keep making him money. It’s simply disrespectful. People are fed up with celebreties these days for a reason I think.
First off, the arrangement I have with my mother is between her and I. Second, it's a sweet ass basement.
Lol all jokes aside, my home theater is in the basement. Just one key difference.. it's MY basement. MY house. MY 4k player, TV and more than anything else MY money that paid for YOUR product.
This is why I'm not paying a cent for them, not even a rental. Fs up his own movies then blames his fans and calls them basement dwelling losers.. nicely done.
James, sorry its your job to make 4k movies look the best they should!
I still have my 1988 vhs copy of The Terminator. The gunshot sounds in the new streaming versions, for example, are totally different from the original. Its clearly been tampered with.
I won’t move Because James Cameron tells me to
His response just confirmed he's out of touch. Especially from someone who hasn't made a good movie since the 90's.
And to him I say, "Cry about it, Grandpa."
Jokes on him, she lives in MY basement.
Cameron has not had a good idea since Terminator 2. His comments are nothing more than an old man using decades old schoolyard insults that have no bearing in today's society.
I have to say i like true lies and titanic, its really okay, but your words are so true
That's just a silly statement
@@jsc315Nah, it's a true statement.
Honestly though. Most of his stuff is either based on recycled ideas or something that already exists. He's been riding on that Titanic success ever since it came out.
Did James Cameron just "raise the bar"? 🤣🤣 (CUE THE MUSIC!)
I think your take that we should calm down about things like grain structure is the wrong way of looking at this. What's the point of making something on 4K if not for the minute details that can't be seen on a 1080p disc? What's even the point of the format if not for enthusiast nerds who like staring at pixels? If creators want us to pay 4K prices, they need to give us a 4K experience, and the fact of the matter is that these releases from Cameron are lazy AI-upscales of what seems to be the Blu-Rays.
It’s way more about color consistency and HDR for me than pixels and minute details. That’s the real benefit. It’s very hard to tell the difference between a 4K scan on a Blu-ray Disc and a 4K disc if neither had HDR.
@@JeffRauseothis^^^^ It's not ever about the grain for me. It's about the overall picture quality.
I agree. When I purchase a 4k, throw it on, and see a mess visually, but in 4k: I wonder what the point of the purchase is ? Menus? More clear subtitles?
Keep in mind: I can probably stream in ultra HD for either free or cheaply. A purchase should be superior.
@@JeffRauseo What a bogus statement
The "mom's basement" insult is so old and unoriginal. We don't even have basements where I live.
You don't see Peter Jackson saying things like that 😂😂😂😂
Maybe not, but the treatment of his films is far worse than Camerons.
If you watch Titanic James Cameron was extremely biased against English characters. Irish, Scottish, American and whoever were superior in every way, it was really appalling.
I will move back into my mom's proverbial basement in spite of James Cameron!
James Cameron needs to stop releasing the Avatar's every 10 years!
James Cameron: I spent my entire career caring about the details and grain structure.
Not James Cameron: ::Reviews the grain structure::
James Cameron: You’re a looser.
EDIT: But yea I get the sentament that you covered. People are very jaded these days, no patience and everyone has a multimedia broadcast station.
I don't live in my mom's basement, but like, who cares if someone does? A lot of people are struggling - the world could use a bit more empathy.
This is sad because the recent 4K AI releases actually damaged these historically important and beloved films with serious artifacts. They could’ve just rescanned them with new color correction and that would’ve been enough
We all need to stand our ground
Cameron hasn't made a good movie since 1997's Titanic. He's only annoyed because he's destroyed his own legacy.
no matter what Cameron says, all I see is the waxfaces in his 4k's...nuff said.
You would think that the man himself who created probably one of the highest film tech of the entire industry would understand the importance of film tranfers but apparently not.
Cameron said people were stupid for getting upset that he basically wiped out grain. Cameron either doesnt realise or doesnt care that people are generally way more upset that he used AI to add fake details, fake HDR, and people look more like synthetic beings than humans.
Im not insulted or surprised by his attitude. He seems like a deeply unpleasant person to deal with. Thankfully there are HD versions of these movies still available.
Cameron can now return to the sea to continue ripping off Ferngully the Last Rainforest. Ill keep enjoying his older movies, made in collaboration with thousands of artists, and mastered so everything looks theatrical rather than a high frame rate video game.
There is _no_ standard Blu-ray for The Abyss available, but then again, from what I've seen, that one looks pretty good. And while there is _some_ HD version available for True Lies, it's a bootleg and a spanish one at that, which might be hard or expensive to get (haven't personally checked). So it isn't easy to just ignore these releases..
@@dennisjungbauer4467 i got the Spanish bootleg for about €16 and it's very good quality. I forgot the Abyss has no physical release though there is a HDTV master out there (1080i or 1080p).
All I wanted was a Blu-Ray of The Abbys. I don't even have a 4K set-up and I don't care too much about film grain or whatever else people talk about, I just want one of my favorite movies looking better than a 20 year old non anamorphic DVD, and I got that, even if I had to pay the 4K price to get the Blu-Ray.
As a 24-year-old, I personally say the film grain should have been intact because the AI slop just looks horrible. As much as I respect his work, James Cameron is just an asshole. And while I don't live in my parents' basement, I'd love to move out, but moving up is kind of hard for my generation. So, I'm glad JC has volunteered to help me move out of my parents house, in exchanged for me not complaining about his remasters.
Nerrel made a great video about these remasters and mentioned how with True Liea, he didn't have to pixel peep to spot problems. Which in my mind makes it a bad remaster and far from perfect like JC wanted. Also the fact that the HDR grade is barely there. I can respect your opinion But I think they should not have AI smoothed it, the grian should have stayed. 4k is the last physical media format that we're going to have. These things should have been gotten right. But unfortunately now it's up to fans that find end scan 35 millimeter prints of these movies to get it right
@@chrisfratz yes u are right about HDR. His films are SDR upconverted. Too lazy to add real HDR mastering. Too lazy to make a new scan. Too lazy gotta use AI. No respect for film as a medium so he tries to make film look like digital.
Alternatively, other directors are trying to make digital look like film, as with dune and the batman where they transferred the digital captured footage to real 35mm film then scanned the film for the final master.
Camerons been in an ego trip lately. I don't want to like his movies anymore, nor do I want to pay admission for any future films of his.
Second movie reviewer that I've seen that has responded to Cameron with, " I'm an adult and I don't live in my mother's basement". I like that the other guy said that, yes, he was recording in a basement but it was his basement not his mother's.
In any case, Jeff's response is good enough and that should be the end of that.
Billionaires are entitled and feel they are beyond criticism.
100% JC could’ve worded it better however as you mentioned, something that we as enthusiasts need to consider is we still are a small group and JC is only interested in two things… what his vision of the films to be and secondly, how much money it will make by attracting a larger audience.
The enthusiasts group is a small but very vocal group. The typical movie watcher doesn’t care and won’t even be bothered to respond to enthusiasts and their screenshots.
Thanks for a well-balanced review.
This reminds me of William Shatner's performance on SNL when he told his ST convention followers to get a life. I don't recall it hurting Shatner's or the ST franchise's reputation.
I still enjoy any version of Star Wars as a movie and I mostly agree with you on everything you said in this video, but saying the changes to the Star Wars Trilogy are "minor" hurt my soul. I get it's the same movie, but some of those changes are huge.
My mother would LOVE for me to live in her basement. Are you kidding me?
What about a link to the interview article? You're mentioning and showing it briefly, but there is no link to be seen in the description for the ones who want to actually read it. :D
Glad you’re standing up for the community. Though the 4K is not the best these films have looked; that would be the 35mm theatrical prints. The fact that they have the ability to recreate that quality and choose not to is the source of discontentment.
James Cameron, at one point, was my favorite director, but he hasn't done a movie I've been interested in since true lies in 1994. 30 years ago.
Same. Titanic...I just never understood the hype. It was technically proficient, but your bog standard period piece that was already a dime a dozen at release. Yet, it made more money than god for some reason.
I’m just gonna say, I love T1/T2/Aliens, but aside from those James Cameron is one of the most overrated directors in history. If people are paying money for something they’re allowed to critique it
Mostly agree. I also liked True Lies and The Abyss, but my "Cameron" fandom starts with The Terminator and ends with True Lies.
He puts the ass in class. He is such an unpleasant person.
buying 4ks was the reason im in this basement mr cameron !
If there is no more room in basement, physical media will walk the earth.
Ultimately, James Cameron has the final say on how the movies look, everyone else has the final say on if they belong in their library.
hi, im not an expert about this topic, but if he said that he has a "team" working for those remasters, i guess that "team" is not very professional about it, because when you begin to modify certain things with "enhancer AI" (and to say something true: the WORST AI) you have to look up for your team and fire them...
You can watch Netflix on a quite large 4K smartphone and have a 1000 times better experience than what I had back in the day. I had to watch movies on crappy cable over a 15 inch 4:3 CRT TV. The image was blurry. The movie transfer was horrible. You had to sit through commercials and the runtime was different because movies had to be altered for time, and content like nudity and violence.
At least hes honest and doesn’t just say fake P.R stuff.
I appreciate your approach to this, Jeff. I will disagree with you on one point: no one has ever "earned" the right to be an asshole. Cameron is well known for not just being demanding and confrontational, but also more than willing to put his actors in mortal danger (especially underwater) just to make his vision a reality. I'd argue he could have achieved all he has WITHOUT verbally abusing or nearly drowning the people who worked for him.
I think what James Cameron is saying is” stop spending all your money and time on Blu rays and go outside and live life”
As a 50 year old cinephile who could care less about Cameron’s films …. I have no problem with what he said , it’s just his delivery wasn’t professional but the message is clear and I agree.
Dude, you have to give credit where credit is due. Titanic is the greatest epic romance since Casablanca.
I recently watched Aliens 4k then for the hell of watched the bluray a week later and actually liked the bluray more. I did like the color more on the 4k though
Right on spot. One of the main issues is that there all of a sudden many people are professional reviewers and uneducated graduated from Internet University. Yes, he was off and disrespectful, but you don't freeze frames and compare resolutions, grain structures or color saturation when going to the theater. I included myself.
I heard that Cameron held a meeting on whether to transfer his movies to 4K. So he just wrote "4$" on a blackboard and walked out.
Classic example of dodging legit criticism and answering with a personal insult.
Move out of mom's basement, those are some big words coming out from a dude who ripped off Ferngully to do Avatar.
I love 4k movie reviews: it helps me make informed decision on what discs to buy, and I do care about the quality of the 4K movie I am upgrading to. If I didn’t care about the quality, then I’d just watch every movie on VHS if the format was still alive. So, thanks to all 4K movie reviews out there.
I'm with you. I enjoy movies and having them in the best format, looking the best they have, then I'm happy.
It's easy to be critic, but we, as viewers, do not know what condition the source material was in when it's remastered for 4K.
James Cameron made such a really terrible take, as much I love his movies, he should respect quality and especially his fans who support his work! Because fans spend good money on these 4K Blu Ray movies, and if he attacks fair criticism, he’s going to lose our respect, and won’t buy his movies anymore!
This is like the 500th bad take of his. At a certain point it's on the people for continuing to take him seriously.
@@jsc315 yeah, I stopped liking him when he decided to keep making Avatar sequels, when he should be doing more original thrillers!
Star Wars obsession is mindboggling. That series is of 5 year old children. Never understood the appeal of that garbage.
I'll have you know Mr Cameron that my mother allows me to live upstairs now like a big boy!
I just movies from the 80s and 90s to look and sound like it. Revisionist transfers that make giant changes to color grading, editing, sound design, and beyond in the interest of making them feel more “modern” just do nothing for me. Movies are a time-capsule of their respective era and when it doesn’t properly represent that technical limitations and quirks of it’s time I’m just taken out of it.
If grain structure is so unimportant then why do they bother digitally removing it?? 🤔
I don't blame James Cameron, I've seen some reviewers go way too far in analyzing every single frame and details.
It's not about 'analyzing every single frame' which Cameron actually does himself. It's about providing a film for in home viewing, in the 4K format, in a way that best utilizes the current technology to present the film as accurately to what was originally seen in the theater.
Revisionist, AI-manipulated trash is NOT what original movie goers experienced. It's fine if he wants to put out that type of product but it is not what most collectors/preservationists are looking for.
No Cameron 4K's for me.
I once loved James Cameron and his movies. But it turns out that he is some kind of crazy, not nice, an idiot and he gives a f*** about his fans. He seems to be one of those "I'm always right, you're wrong" guys.
Definitely...and what a pathetic 'put down' for a grown-ass man.
He should be happy people are reviewing them. They're keeping physical media alive which does nothing but help him
Everybody who’s ever met Jim Cameron has had enough of him.
Thank you Jeff. You put it much more politely than my first instinct.
I was at two words myself. One starts with F and the other starts with O
This isn't just him it's the entire industry honestly. There's a huge disconnect between collectors and the people making the content the collectors buy.
No one in this world has the right to be an asshole! No matter how wealthy or successful you are, you will never have that right! There should be a level of respect between people, and if you don’t understand that, you’re simply weak minded and not raised properly.
On the other hand, James Cameron has all the right to do whatever he desires with his movies, but that doesn’t excuses him from lacking respect for his fans that were responsible for his success. If he wishes to alter his movies, that’s his right. Even though I’m against that idea, it’s still his right. I just simply can’t stand his arrogance and it’s unacceptable. It’s like he’s ignoring the people that lead him in the position where he’s at.
Jokes on him, my mom doesn't have a basement! But i do wish i could move back in with my parents. Image the money i would have to buy 4ks!
he is just mad because people are makin fun of his awfull dances with smurfs movies.
Worked for Cameron about 20 years ago at Lightstorm. He was a prick then and he is still a massive bell-end, but the death of Landau means Cameron has lost the one true gentleman in his organization, and the "good cop" who produced three of the biggest films of all time. Oh, and by the way, the 4ks are dogshit and that's been proven on the internet beyond any doubt.
Um. . .James. . .weren't YOU worried about "Grain" when making these 4k releases?! lmfao!
Aliens has never looked so good. First Class Upgrade. Maybe people should switch off Dolby Vision and set the picture themselves.
If it isn't for movie buffs like us, James Cameron wouldn't even have a career in the first place
When T2 came out on 4k by STUDIOCANAL, there was this story going around that there where 2 internal 4k masters for this film. One was with DNR, meant to use for the 3D Blu-Ray version because grain doesn't look good in 3D. And the other was the "regular" 4k master with grain intact, meant for the 4k UHD disc. The story was that they made a mistake and used the grain-free DNR version meant for the 3D version of the movie for the regular 4k and that it wasn't intended to be released like that. With the 4k releases of True Lies + Aliens it's safe to say that this story was never true.
I'm a person who always want to see my media content as intended by the content creator and adjust my TV screen calibration accordingly. Since it's now clear that Cameron intended these movies to look like that, I'll finally bite and will buy these movies on 4k, instead waiting for a revision that will never come, because that was based on a false narrative. Thanks for clearing this up!
"hey everybody - stop calling out my lazy, shoddy work and just give me your money!"
I didn’t even pixel peep but for me it was the fact that ripleys skin just seemed so unnaturally sharp in the 4K release compared to prior releases. It made her seem like her skin was aged way more than how it looked originally
James needs to go his own my mom's basement after saying the dangers of AI while using AI for his 4K films 🤦♂️
The James Cameron of 30 - hell even 15 - years ago would never have said something like that.
It’s no coincidence Avatar 2 sucked. Dude has gone soft.
Guy has lost the Plot ..... obsession with lil blu CGI aliien people in forest speaks volumes. Reflection of his mental health.
Just wait till I go upstairs and tell mom what he said...
To be clear: The people who think his 4K releases are a disaster aren't just "collectors". I have worked in the industry for 30 years. My friends and colleagues are professional DPs, editors and directors. Go ask a DP who has made feature films. They think this is an abomination.
