BE BAD AND GET OVER IT.

- The only way over it is through it! I'm still learning this lesson, which is why I might sound like a broken record player, repeating myself... I'm trying to burn it into my brain!
Also - thank you for allowing me the space to make some goofy stuff and try some video experiments that might not always work out "properly." I truly appreciate the encouragement - it means the world, really.
And hopefully I'll actually be able to keep improving (slowly) and provide you guys with better stuff to watch! It's a big ol' win-win.
DAY 23 of daily videos! :)
"I can't keep making something over and over again, that's not art; that's manufacturing" 👌🔥
Yeah, that's definitely one that's going in the journal quotes page.
🙃
I appreciate your content, the thoughtfulness and efficiency. I've always looked forward to your videos, but these small bite sized pieces of your thoughts are a fine addition to my morning routine. Thank you!
"Tiny evolutions" and allowing yourself to 'be bad' first is a timely reminder. Thanks for creating and sharing, Lefie!
This is an important point. I love creating but I'm also a perfectionist. It's really hard for me to let myself get lost in my work and not think about how well it will turn out but when I do, that's the best feeling.
Thank you Lefie for letting us in on your thoughts!
I am a manufacturer and I LOVE the creative act of continuous improvement in the 'machine' system. It's the same thing you do in your life: eliminate waste, automate processes to make them easier, tweak to try and get the best possible outcome. It's FUN! And, funny how we all have a different perspective in our creativity. To me, well executed manufacturing .
"That's not art - that's manufacturing." Exactly!
Thank you for sharing this goofy and experimental stuff with us. Your channel is really unique and it means something to us too. You post refreshing, realistic, relatable, inspirational, creative and positive content in a world where negativity is unfortunately everywhere. It's a reminder that good stuff is still here in the world and we can still enjoy life in many ways. So thank you and keep being you.
Have a good day.
Thanks, Aadi! You too!
Thank you! Hearing this makes me feel like it's okay for me to start my own!
Honestly I'm glad you're willing to change things up and do what you want to. I see other channels and you can kinda see they are bored even if they don't come right out and say it. I wish I could tell them they can and should change things up whenever and however they want and I'd still watch.
Creative from Germany here. I feel you!
I love her videos
It's cool, short , she is very
Thoughtful. She doesn't
Stealing viewers time!
Thanks!!💯
Hi Lefie,
I kept stumbling upon your content before. But never really got hooked. The latest videos that you're sharing though, are really itching the right spot for me. I don't know what it is, but they feel kind of nostalgic to me. I really love those bite sized videos and the way you stitch them together. Your thoughts really resonate with me and I love your aestetic.
Thanks for your work. And please continue trying new things. :)
Thanks, Mariannae! Planning on it. 🙂
I love the art you produce - thank you for sharing it with the world!
Well done, queen 👑
Progress over perfection!
My ADHD brain is loving these short bitesized vids. And I love the variety of topics and styles you’re experimenting with in your content. And this video itself, was something that was very relevant to me as an artist, and definitely words that I needed to hear.
Love the every day series. Thank you for making them, you inspire me.
The handwriting spreading across the screen is so evocative, I love it!
"People get attached to your work, but just can't keep making the same thing over and over again. That's not art. That manufacturing". I related to it so much, specially because my art page suffered greatly after I started trying new techniques.
I absolutely love your experiment!
Love love love your candor and creativity expressed in the experiments!!!
I never comment but I'm very grateful to your videos. I really appreciate what you communicate here and it's helpful for me. Very very helpful.
DAmn, this is exactly what i needed to hear. Thanks dude! LOVE your art!
Love the simplicity and effectiveness of this!
I needed this, thank you.
Yes! Ive been bingeing on Bob Proctor (as well as Lefie) and its like you're bringing it to life in short bursts of vibrancy. Cheers for that Lefie. I always love a good blast of synchronicity. 😊
I love seeing the experimentation and exploration of new visual concepts! I am finding out what hard work it is and really appreciate seeing how you do your thing. 💟
Woaw !! That was great. Bravo
Its the surprise of what you are going to do next that I really enjoy!
Brilliant video!
SOoooo creative! Yes, totally agree: start from where you are. Love the writing!!!
Keep changing and growing. The people that matter will understand.
LOVED IT
This title is what I needed today :)) sometimes perfectionism is hell
Hehehe this was cool. I would have spent whole day probably trying to do this in after effects it never occurred to me it could be a screen recording... All good points though. I am a filmmaker and I struggle with being bad at something way too much. But on a much more complicated level. I work in europe, in "art film" for last ten years and the way quality is estimated in this world is quite shitty. it is not about any particular skill one can acquire, but rather about your innovative and new ideas. if whatever you come up with is judged by the critics or peers or festivals or even audience as novel enough, your lack of skill is not important anymore. once Jean Luc Godard said "Film has to have a beginning, a middle and an end, but not necessarily in that order." And herein lays our problem. Skill becomes unimportant, while "talent" and novelty is all that matters. Even political message of your film that aligns with current political atmosphere of a certain country's cultural circles and opinions of film critics, can be enough for storytelling skills to become unimportant when they write about your film. It has become increasingly hard for me to even judge my own, skill, talent or capabilities when I feel standards depend on so many other things, and not objective quality of something. But that is art I guess... I chose it so now I have to figure it out.
On another note if you haven't check out Kraig Adams' hiking videos. I feel like you could be venturing in that direction at some point. Love your videos, keep working and being bad at things :)
I love this Lefie! I started a new job with new responsibility as a leader and I am “leaning in” to all the newness. I’m a perfectionist but after adapting this mindset I’m growing! Have a great weekend!
You too, Phil!
Loved this one. U r awesome
I'm glad I found your channel.
Gosh, I can totally relate to this! Esp to "all or nothing" type of person. I can't even describe how many times I've completely burned out because I feel I have to give everything 100%. "Live and learn" I guess...
id love to learn how to do this!! all or nothing is toxic anyways, good job being human. :)
👌👌👌
Clever video. Don’t be so hard on yourself😆
yup for me, creativeness is something when i think about nothing! (meant to say when i do not think too hard!) ✨
thanks I'm going to get the phrase ''BE BAD AND GET OVER IT'' tattooed on my body
Ohhh no 😂
Effing epic.
you are definitely NO manufacturing machine . . . keep experimenting . . . keep exploring . . . keep learning . . . and keep cherishing and celebrating the small steps . . . love your videos and the sharing of your insights and inner thought reflections!
Thanks, Erwin! Will do. 😁
Very cool video. 😎😎😎🔥🔥🔥
😎👍
I love that you’re releasing videos every day and I like them, but I do miss the wink 😉
Hey Lefie, you're always good enough, at it. Cus it's the best you can do. Ain't ever gonna get better than that.
Nice handwriting btw 😜
Thanks, Rob!

Nice.
Dope fresh lefie
I for one look forward to the day I see a Lefie video titled "SEANCE WENT WRONG AT 3AM!!! YOU GOTTA SEE THIS!!!"
Ahaha, honestly... kinda accurate...
"Was that a ghost? Or just the cat?" - every cat owner ever, at some point
@@sonipitts Or worse: when the cat suddenly sees or hears something that gets its hackles up. This is extra fantastic late at night binge watching Investigation Discovery.
@@joshuamoore8560 Or they do the thing where they walk cautiously over to a random empty spot in the room and just stare at it intently. For minutes on end.
@@sonipitts I remember looking that up once and the website pretty much said they do that because they hear something that we can't. But I just can't help but think "what could they possibly be hearing RIGHT THERE that I can't?!"
Your voice reminds me of the voice of 22 in Soul
Ah a new formmat! I sort of heard your voice anotating this as it scrolled by... Did you use quicktime to record this, some paint product? I noticed there was no cat in this one? It's great work as always - Who was it who said, Keep on swimming keep on swimming! :-)
I used a program called OBS! And drew it in Photoshop. 😊
THIS WAY is how I want to make MY VIDEOS!
Ah! Well, I used OBS to screen record me drawing on a Wacom in Photoshop. But another option is to plug your phone into your computer, use Quicktime to screen record, and draw on your phone in Procreate. Best of luck!

So, what role does this audience play in this? You are not creating at home. You are creating, and choosing to share it, and leave it available for subscriptions and likes and comments. How does the audience, and reliance on an audience, fit into that?
My audience pushes me to want to improve, provides encouragement, and provides new ideas to try. I like how you said creators "leave it available" for an audience; this is a great way to describe it. The power in the creator is to make what they want/need to make, while the power in the audience is to choose to engage or not. I keep making things either way.
@@Lefie Cool. But that is not the case for the majority of creators it seems, which is why an entire industry built on targeting content for eyeballs exists. There was a time when a painter painted alone, in a room, and was on a solo journey. Now I wonder if that solo journey exists. I know for me, I used to be a writer, but I think social media has broken me. I do not know though.
