    I’ve dreaded making the NCW, let alone any wallet because I’ve never made card slots before. But I really believe I can do it now because of your great tutorial. It is brilliant! Thank you so much!

    Thanks for this
    I did use cotton and put bias tape on back with heat n bond before top stitching edges, and these are MUCH better...I knew there was probably a way! Thanks for coming up with the math! Happy creating

    If you sewed a zipper in each end when you put the lining on, you could make a coin pocket in between the two banks of card slots. Not the NCW pattern I know, but looking at the method and how it could be adapted for other bags

    I like the shape of your flap. Did you just modify it? I found another video with the card slots measurements, but she did it differently than you did. I now have to figure a way to fix it. 😩Your method is smashing or else the card slots are all the same size. So thank you. 🥰

    Thanks for the video - I am going to try with cotton fabric (that's what I cut already and backed with SF101 - shouldn't be to different). Only thing I need to see is when you are stitching the zipper bag to the center how that works with the stitch line you have for the last card slot - I realize you have done it can you tell me if its very thick? I have a semi-industrial so I can go through most things. Thanks will be trying this out today as I have 16 wallets in production and I have only cut out 5 of the CC slots and backed them - I do have WPC but I like the pattens on cotton lol

    • @snwgifts
      @snwgifts  2 года назад +2

      It can be thick right there. It doesn't affect the card slot though. What you could do it keep the interfacing out of that spot

      Too bad she didn’t answer you, but I’m guessing this is going to apply to any wallet that you’re making because she said to follow the instructions from the pattern for the back pieces

    • @dcwatashi
      @dcwatashi 11 месяцев назад +1

      NCW by Emmaline she answered somebody else always best to scroll through the comments. Chances are someone has already asked the same question.
      Stitch length is 4.5. I’m not sure what thread she used, though in the description under the word “more” she does name a particular thread. I don’t know if it’s what she used in this product.

    LOVED THIS!! I have made a few of these and want to make more but the card slots stop me because I just don't like doing them!! Wonder how these would work out with something other than canvas. Also what stitch length are you using here? Is it because it's canvas or do you just like the look? I like the look!!

    Very clever way of making the card slots. Do you think this could be done with cork?

    • @snwgifts
      @snwgifts  2 года назад +1

      I've never worked with cork but I think of its not too thick? I would start by using some scrap pieces of cork and sew through the same amount of layers as it is where the flaps fold over the card slots.

    Hi there, thanks so much for this tutorial, however, your backing for the card slots look larger then what the pattern calls for which is 5 by 8 1/2, also the pattern doesn't say "card slot backing", just liner piece, is this the backing? I'm so confused 😕.

    I tried it with muslin and the 8×8 became 7x7 when it was all done. The measurements in the instructions state it should be 81/2 H by 8 W. I will try it again with 9 1/2 by 8 so after I fold down the edges it will be the right measurements.
