Hey guys. I've just changed timing chains, and rest of parts. Two of them on top of engine were in good condition, but chain of oil punp was a little bit longer than new one. The bigger trouble was clutch and dual-mass wheel. I replaced everything, now engine sounds better. Total cost with Ivis chains, all gaskets and filters from BMW, , some parts from Febi, New swirling flaps and cleanig intake manifold , and LUK clutch and dual mass wheel - about 1800€
2 questions if the engine is cold you hear it check when its worm you still hear it if so its about 99% sure its the chain or guide for it to chain just strecht to much but when the car is work and its gone then no wurries its probly valve lifters they work on oil pressure and can knock when its cold and the oil preasure is still low
Mam pytanko, właściwie to jestem po wymianie rozrządu no juz z 30kkm, temu wyminiełem. I teraz włąsnie coś cyka, tak jakby własnie z pod kolektora wydechowego. Też włąsnie tak suzkam i sie zastanawiam czy może to dwumas stukać , albo sprzęgło czy coś ?
Hey Karol, I have the exact same noise in my bmw x1 2011 N52. For me the noise get louder when i accelerate or decelerate suddenly or climb uphill. I changed flywheel and converter but it didn't fix the issue. What else did you change? I can also hear this noise (sort of grinding noise) while cold start and it doesn't stay for long if i reduce acceleration the noise also stops. Any idea what it could be?
Hey, I changed timing chains, tensioners and all all the parts that came with the service kit. Later i found that i Lost one bolt of exhaust manifold cover. Maybe you have to check condition of timing chain.
Hey. Did you find out what was the issue? Because at the moment I have the same problem. While accelerating the noise is getting louder. Is it really timing chain?
two bolts securing the exhaust manifold heat shield fell out. The shield didn't move and I didn't notice it. After starting the engine, there were small vibrations on it that were difficult to notice. I noticed it quite by accident while cleaning the engine compartment.

Mine has 480.000 km and stil kicking without any slight problem , just changed the timing chain
When did you changed the timing Belt/chain? How much km?
Hey, what year and model is yours?
@@Paddelo i changed it at 460.000 , I had the car since it had 370.000 , there wasn't any sign that it will break
Sounds like chain, you should be able to hear it very clearly at 1500 rpm
I think the oil pump chain you tight too much or loose
change the wheel that drive alternator belt from the crankshaft in front. then the noise wil go away
yes mine is just changed cost my 1400euro changed at 158000km f25 2011
Yes
