I've studied astrology for 30 years, and I have never heard a better or more detailed explanation of aspecrs! I always enjoy when the two of you get together for these question and answer sessions, but today you knocked it out of the park. Acyuta-bhava, Thanks for covering these basic intricacies. I, too, love your Balanced, Soulful approach to astrology. (I wonder if I'll ever "grok" the Houses! If only they stayed put!!) I under-stand that Saturn has to do with polarization and opposition, but I thot squares were more about discord than bold conflict; and therefore, there might be more conflict in oppositions, the way opposit(e) signs in Chinese Astrology are in a "Circle of Conflict". So much to learn !
Just realised how much I was limiting the myself in interpretation by focusing too much on degree based aspects. Truly grateful. Thank you.

Excellent! From an astrologer 👏. So honest and realistic! And I thought it was just me. Some thing are just bad, and eventually we will learn what we need to about the situation: or what action to take.
My husband is sun in Cancer and I am sun in Capricorn. We are within 2 degrees opposition. He is like the inside of my sock. We don't argue other than have creative debates. I am sure there are plenty of other aspects in our chart that keep us in soulful harmony with each other. Great lesson. Thanks!

The ancients where the inovators of what we know and are learning today. We haven't evolved much since.
Hmmm.... so, within each angular triad, the angle doesn't "see" the succedent house. Does this refer to the experience of not having control over the outcomes of our actions? Sure, we have influence over what we do and how we do it, but the outcomes themselves we are not able to control. Great thought provoking post!!
It would be great if some future Q&A could address closing aspects (squares and trines for example) versus opening aspects---how do they vary in interpretation?

I wonder why oppositions are seen as difficult if they have the potential to accomplish so much, as opposed to trines which are seen as lazy. I have a grand fire trine in my chart and I dont like it. It feels like an incredible amount of passion which I can't unleash.
I wish I knew when my Uranus opposition ends and my Neptune square Neptune ends. I'm 41 yrs old going through the mid-life. Radical changes
Now 3 years later, how have things been going for you? I turn 42 in 3 days and will have finished up my Neptune Square. Uranus opposition will not happen until Uranus' ingress into Gemini.
I have mercury sextile Jupiter, mercury is in Sagittarius and Jupiter is in Scorpio. I thought that would be a square but the apps are saying it’s a sextile. Can you help me understand this?
Hi Both, thank you very much, this is the first time I comment. I am just very curious, cause I am cancer rising and have Capricorn in 7th house, sun in 11th (Taurus), and I am quite opposite than, because 1st. Cat has a square ASC to Sun, which means missing self-estime and lack of self-confidence, sorry to say, this is correct. Satun in the 7th house means the influence of others or spouse. So, we have now Saturn return again to our 7th house, wherein Aquarius is our 8th house, so nobody died at this point, BUT Saturn's return will clean up your partnership and relationship (divorse or separation). I am new to this all, so excuse me, but I needed to tell because it was everything so positive, which actually, referencing to my problems, and is NOT.
Thank you Adam. However by the virtue of this way of seeing my chart İ would have most my plants squaring mars neptune and opposite venus mercury sun under the ecliptic chart... Well thank you lol

Wonderful! I have a point of confusion!!!!! I have the professional time passages app on my cell phone and It is set on whole sign Houses with ascendant in 1st house and it is coming up with different aspects. Ex: sun 4th house & Jupiter in 8th house and it says sun is trining Jupiter but I calculated sun squaring Jupiter 🤔🤔🤔 from what I understood in this presentation???? Thoughts ✨🙏😌 Vv
Some astrology apps/software use quite wide orbs, and cross sign boundaries. Another reason it can be helpful to take the aspect lines out altogether, especially if you want to follow the traditional approach!
