I’ve only recently begun playing the OG Halo trilogy and started Reach and CE on Heroic out of the gate. Halo 2’s difficulty took me by surprise and I was tempted to turn it down to Normal after Metropolis.
Then I heard this track while taking down the Scarab and thought ‘nah fuck that’

Mathew R The Halo 2 Theme plays on Metropolis when you're going over the bridge in the Scorpion and when you're fighting the Scarab, but it's a different version for both scenes
and a monk chant
And Gungir Mix is the best of each.

Just played through this mission on legendary. This song gave me the balls to just jump straight on-board with a BR and a Sniper. And it worked. First. Fucking. Try. This song WILL make you play like the Master Chief you see in the books

Feels so weird. I get to play Halo Infinite Flighting in a few hours, all these memories of Halo are flooding into my head, Infinite is the first Halo that i was old enough to get hyped for, from the beginning, I’ve played the series my entire life, 11 years ago, when i was 4. Since 2018, I’ve been interested in Halo Infinite, skeptical, but excited exponentially, they seem to be taking it in a direction that i enjoy, I’ll update this comment later on, to tell you if my thoughts have changed, or, to tell you if Halo is back.

@@somemexicangardener6933 its so surreal man. I feel as though they got the gameplay PERFECTLY, they didnt mess it up at all. BUUUUT, the micro transactions and lack of progression is disappointing. The story had to pick it up from Halo 5 so i wasn’t expecting it to be wonderful, although it was really entertaining and fun, after watching the Raleigh HCS tournament, ill say Halo is back.

It’s November 10th, 2004, wensday afternoon, you just got home from school, you have dinner and try and skim over your day to your parents and stuff your face as you eagerly anticipate what you plan for this evening.
Homework’s done (mostly) dishes are clean, trash is out and all that mundane chore work.
You happily skip to your room, delicately placing Halo 2 into your Xbox, that logo shows up with the familiar menu, you hear that choir come to life as you load your last save, the warthog ride through New Mombassa, you’re cornered by that scarab that’s been pursuing you since the beginning of the level.
The Sargent looks to you and tells you to take care of it, you don’t know how you can take on something that size, but then you hear it…the beat of the drum and the rip of the guitar in your ears.
A spike of excitement goes up your spine, suddenly you don’t care how you’re taking down the scarab, you just know you will.
Implying I didn't stay up all night and get my dad to take me to the midnight release and then had a sick day at school

When you board the Scarab for the first time as the Master Chief, you feel like a legend. When you board the Kraken as Locke, not as good as it should have been.

Damn thats the thing about the kraken fight in halo 5. They tried so hard to be like the halo 2 scarab fight but they just didn’t quite nail it. The scarab looked beatable. Like Johnson said “they tough but ain’t invincible stay with the master chief he’ll know what to do.” But instead there was no Johnson or master chief. Just some blank slate of card board and some random ass dinosaurs.
