He didn't even get an entire year? That's not a proper sentence for conning people into committing international felonies.
@@kristinefletcherwode4640 I agree - but to be fair, he may have lost his job and trucker's license when the employer was notified. So there may have been more penalties other than legal ones. At least one can hope.
This series is from early 2000's and laws have changed. He might of been investigated more for at a later time to be prosecuted with higher fines and costs and longer prison time lock up. I wish that both men and women would stop pushing drugs and trafficking these dangerous drugs all over the world. Criminals are acting like they are the victims when they get caught and they never take responsibility for their wrong doings. Judges and prosecutor's need to be held responsible for allowing so many criminals free on the streets some while waiting for their court cases to be heard are committing my ore deadly crimes still to be free acting like victims instead of the hard core thugs they chose to be on the streets while committing crimes instead of being law abiding citizens with 9 to 5 real jobs to provide for themselves and their families. Just foul and disgusting. Judges and DA's from all 50 states are partially to blame for the amount of crimes going on right now. I wish times would go back to before the 70's when children did everything they were told to do to better themselves and be set up in their lives. They were taught NOT to break the law NOT to disobey their Elders ( an elder is anyone older than themselves). To call people by their names with auntie and uncle in front of the names. Gosh the things I mentioned here in my comment need to be taught in grade school, junior highschool and highschool.
This is a killer drug and he barely gets a year in jail… the stupidity in saying he was caught cheating is laughable just to chest beat a manhood no longer there.
He should be charged more
Committing international felonies! Who is the biggest Con Man Tries To Fool the whole wide world?
Answer: The British., through centuries-long Slavery, Colonialism and Colonization.
I love how the conman stares at the phone not at the interviewer avoiding eye contact at all costs xD
Different cultures! In Asian culture, mostly they don't make eye contact.

That is normal, people tends to look at the translator when speaking a different language.
They think that they'll get away with it or be more believable. I wouldn't trust anyone that won't look me dead in the eyes!!

That’s sad… they are meant to translate accurately
fk hahahha this is bad
Agreed, terrible translation
I wondered why he would admit this. Turns out he didn't 😂
I think that is not the full conversation 😂
"Birthday" on driver License is hilarious...🤣
that passport is fake, his accent obviously tells he is from some part of southern China, but his passport mentioned he was born in Beijing, northern China
It was only recently updated to "Date of Birth", and "Birthday" was actually used before. Driver's licenses are quite shoddy....
@@Ibrahim86373 I’m from southern China but when I speak mandarin I sound nothing like that😂
Pre-2011 Chinese driver licences actually used "birthday" instead of "date of birth"

I can't imagine the legel of betrayal that elderly couple must have felt.
"The man admitted to persuading the elderly couple to carry 4.2 kilograms of ephedrine...". How is this a betrayal? It's indicates the complicity of the elderly couple in a crime.
They knew.
@@ImperrfectStranger As the episode showed, he persuaded them to carry back the packets which appeared to be food. They didn't know they really contained drugs. So yes, betrayal is the perfect word.
@@ivaneames4354 The woman said "I've never done this before" in the previous episode as if she were admitting to the crime. Unless the couple were mentally incompetent, I don't see how betrayal is applicable. Since they were not convicted (as far as we know), I'll admit there is more to this than meets the eye (or ears).
@@ImperrfectStrangerShe also said she had never traveled outside of the country. That's what I took it as ... the whole scenario, wedding, Vietnam, friend buying tickets and all, canceled wedding, etc was all new to her. Definitely a betrayal in my view. She seemed horrified and upset.
237 Days for drug smuggling it should be 20 years for anything over 1K!
237 days in gaol
I think because it's only ephedrine, a pre-curser to a drug... must not be that serious
@@oliviahope3728 Its no difference its the same thing same class! the laws are too lapse if they are going to continue this pointless making drugs illegal so criminals can be rich and people can suffer crime!

its absurd not to deal with the problem in the logical way!
It's 237 days you Aussie taxpayers have to feed and keep him. Why bother, just send him home and bar him forever from Oz.
Drugs have destroyed so many lives that 237 days is not enough. In some countries its capital punishment.

I saw an episode of British border security,a. Man about 30 claimed he was 15,he was allowed into the country even the officers could see he was a liar😂😂😂😂
You cannot have a life sentence for that level of crime.
These agents are super sharp - they're so clever in figuring out what's really happening with people.
They deal with scumbags from around the world
What's a joke to go to prison 237 days for carrying 4 kg of methamphetamine worth of $700k.
You guys do realise the prison sentence is essentially irrelevant? He's still got a criminal record, his life is fked either way
The look on that Chinese guys face is written GUILT in big bold letters. He knows exactly what's going on.
He also never looks at the interviewer until the end which is strange
going to australia without documents , US or europe will be much better thru land
In Chinese he says that it's not fake, the translator sucks haha
He said my passport and driver's license is not fake, and then the interpreter's translation was so wrong! For the date of birth, some will say date of birth some will say birthday on the driver‘s license. it couldn't be an evidence😓

The amount of work involved in border force is truly amazing
Only 237 days for smuggling illegal drugs and making his innocent friends carry the drugs?
Allows others to do it. Years back but that’s nothin
Innocent friends? The woman didn't sound innocent in the previous Border Force video. Also, "The man admitted to persuading the elderly couple to carry 4.2 kilograms of ephedrine...".

Same as China. You can’t get anything without physically present. He was told what to say if caught by the organization who faked the documents for him.
I agree! It's a legal, secure document it should be treated w importance like a credit card
they mail you the passport in the USA...lol
They mail you your passport in the USA. How secure is that?

237 days in jail for that crime? Should have been at least 2370.
Should be mandatory life ban for fake documents! at least 15 years for working on tourist visa!
Is it really that much of a problem that a 20 something year old backpacker does some chores in exchange for a roof over her head. It's literally a win win for all involved.
Agreed!!!
A three-year exclusion for attempting to enter Australia with fake documents is a de facto lifetime exclusion. This information is shared with other countries such as Canada, the UK, USA, New Zealand and Schengen countries are also given access to this information. Future visa applications require an explanation for why someone tried to enter Australia on a fake passport. As there is no compelling reason to let someone enter, there are only grounds for rejection.
Who are you to say that 15 years is ridiculous too long
Funny enough that my initial Chinese driver license actually does say birthday instead of Date of Birth but when I had to replace it when it has expired the new license has changed to date of birth as new translation😂
Not sure why they would bring the preserved duck eggs when they could just go to an asian supermarket and buy it. Also, century eggs are free of mold and bacteria.
