John from Birds Boro, Pa. Very good channel for me. After hip replacements, a knee replacement, and back fusions caused by arthritis, my game certainly went downhill. I always try your tips and I thank you for the channel.
I need this lesson! At 68 yrs old it’s harder to get a full back swing and I know if I can manage to get higher with my backswing surely it will result in more yardage. I will work on this as I practice this week. Thanks again! Kentucky mountains
Lake Stevens, WA - 70 years old, but slim and pretty limber - play rarely, but like to be prepared for opportunities to play - thanks for the easy to understand and apply.
My opinion as a retired engineer. Your arms are heavy, your club is light in comparison. When you raise your arms during the back swing you take a heavy mass and lift it against gravity creating stored energy proportional to the mass and the distance you raised the mass above your starting position which is normally quite a bit below the highest point of the backswing. As you move the arms back towards the ground you obtain velocity from the force of gravity and velocity from your muscles trying to pull the club as fast as possible. I see good senior golfers that insist on taking the club behind them instead of above their shoulders because they trained themselves to hit draws their whole life. They lose the benefit of the force of gravity on their clubhead speed.
London Ontario..got fitted for a lovely new Calloway and have lost my drive 😢…I am going to try this and hopefully it helps…practice, practice, practice 😊
Nearing 36, body not in the greatest condition. I’ve just barely been getting into the sport, and have been using your videos along with the Trackman at my work to practice and improve my swing. My Trackman HCP started at 48, and is now down to 23.5 after a week and a half. I still have a ways to go, especially without a personal coach or trainer, but I’m making progress. Watching from Utah (West of Salt Lake City). Thanks!!
I’ll try it today at the range, I’ve lost a lot of distance since I stop playing regularly. Your tips have help me a lot since I’ve committed to practicing and playing a lot more. My game got very ugly and I didn’t enjoy it, but that’s what you get when you don’t practice or play much for 15 years. DC suburbs

Pittsburgh Pennsylvania here, right handed, left shoulder replacement, stiff lower back, obviously limited rotation, I’m lucky to get 150 in the air, can I get better? Turning 70 soon! 😢😢😢
All good, but what if you can’t lift your arms up that far? The further up, the sooner the arms will start to bend and the more inconsistent the swing will be.
Our pleasure! If you want more in-depth instruction on increasing clubhead speed, check out our Lost Chapter of the Bad Lie: vlsgolf.com/pages/youtube Thanks for watching, let us know how the range session goes!

I like how you state this, makes sense. We have found the high hands allows for more clubhead speed for our students.

My opinion as a retired golf pro is that you don't need such a strong cable on that suspension bridge that you're designing.
