    I think a series would be really interesting, but I'd wish calories weren't the main focus - although I get that that probably brings in the views. I liked it when you talked about how the leg workout sculpted your legs. The fitness culture for women where we learn to diet/burn calories instead of working out to get strong and use weights is really detrimental. I'd love to see surfing, yoga, etc. but with perhaps more mental benefits, physical benefits, social benefits - where calories are the least important.

    • @offtothirty4755
      @offtothirty4755 3 года назад +1

      I hear ya but she needed quantitative DATA for comparison, so I think it's rational for her to track her heart rate, calories, and MEPs for the workouts to be able to compare. That was the point of the video. Especially since these are one-off comparisons... You can't "measure" mental benefits per workout, etc.
      I think what you're asking for has to be another video on having a healthy and balanced lifestyle. as all the benefits usually would come from having/following the lifestyle, not by comparing different workouts.

    • @sarahogvall
      @sarahogvall 3 года назад

      @@offtothirty4755 I see what you mean, but I do believe that even though MEPs and heart rate were "better" factors I still believe the fitness culture pushes a mentality of "the higher the better", which is not always the case. We think we need to work to burn out to reach success, but the body can't always handle that type of stress. And even though it is a good idea for a series, and the word calories probably brings more views, I'd personally think it would be more interesting with other aspects. Aspects that didn't perpetuate the need to always burn calories. You're right, I am asking for a series that shows different activities in another light. Even if she can't measure the mental benefits from the activities, there is probably science that shows why the different sports is good for you. I wasn't saying "don't do this series", I was trying to say what I'd be more interested in. I'm sorry if it didn't come across right!

      I think you are talking about the increased bmr you get after building new muscles, because muscles burn more calories than fat, even if they’re not being used. I also guess, that when your muscles feel “pumped” after a workout, they are still being used and that’s why more calories get burned even after the workout. That’s why you’re right in that point. What you also have to take into consideration is what Sarah said in the beginning of the video: if you’re not as “fit” and your heart rate takes some time to lower after your cardio session, you still burn calories up until that point when your heart rate is stabilized again. I could be wrong, but that’s as far as I know and the explanation makes sense to me

    Would love to see a run workout ! Try intervals
    1k ish jog warm up
    2x800m fast
    4x400m fast
    8x200m fast
    It’s a killer - aim for a speed that’s sustainable but you wanna stop about 1/2 way through the interval! X

    I hesitated to watch a a video about calories burned during workouts because I previously had an unhealthy relationship with exercise and burning calories. I am so glad I watched because you talked about it in such a positive way, and actually encouraged me to focus less on the calories sometimes and not worry if I am burning less calories during my weight sessions than my cardio sessions, or less calories than someone else doing the same workout. Thank you for sharing 💛

    I can’t remember if Sarah mentions, so ignore this if she does... but it’s worth mentioning that she has a heart monitor rather than a Fitbit or fitness watch to measure Calories... if you’re someone who might get fixated on the numbers please remember that Sarah’s using a high tech bit of kit and your average Fitbit isn’t 100% accurate. Plus as mentioned a metabolism that would put a race horse to shame 😂. Fitbits estimates the total calories you’ll burn when your heart rate returns to normal rather than what you’ve actually burnt off at full steam.
    Please don’t get dishearted or fixated if you don’t burn off lots our metabolisms are all different! 🧡xx

    Hey Sezzy, Love your content. A gentle reminder this kind of video should have a clear trigger warning. Speaking about calories like this can be triggering and damaging for people with an eating disorder or in recovery. Xx

      @Reneemou whilst I hear what you're saying, surely a video entitled "What workout burns the most calories" is a clear enough trigger earning for anyone to avoid watching the video if they feel triggered? People do need to take responsibility for themselves and I don't think Sezzy needs a reminder.

    You're the first person EVER to make me WANT to exercise! I want to feel like you! I want to feel like your friends excited to workout and be sweaty. I've been trying to start working out for years and I watched and followed a lot of people but you are the VERY FIRST one that makes me actually do it not to JUST loose weight but to become happier and healthier me.
    Thank you for that.
    Sending love ❤️ from freezing Czech Republic (it's -6C now!) 🥶

    Love this video! Would love to see this as a series! I think your fitness level and experience with different styles of training makes you the perfect candidate for a series like this! Could you please try bodybuilder (hypertrophy) vs powerlifter (strength) training? :) for example bodybuilder: 8-12 reps, smaller rest time between 3-4sets each and a lot of accessories movements VERSUS powerlifter: focus on compounds at heavier sets and 3rm, 2rm - between 1 - 3 reps of heavy weight with longer rest time and the followed by some accessory movements.

    I’ve watched this video like 4 times haha. It’s so informative, I love it! I’m really excited to get my heart rate monitor just because I have the tendency to over do it. Like I’ll train hard for a hour or two but still feel like I’ve not done enough. Getting this heart rate monitor will definitely help me to focus and relax more. Thank you so much, this video was very helpful 💕

    I honestly LOOOVED IT! like I really wanted to see this video. Well first, I do feel like you could have enjoyed more the team circuit and the pilates session, like as you said, maybe working with timing (not reps) and having your class would have completely changed the results. Second, I would looove to see (although that would take you too much time) you trying this experiment with some HIIT workouts (e.g: 3 sets of 4 combo exercises, 50x10/40x20/30x30 each +2 min fat burner bonus after each set, that´s my resistance workout, I do that a lot, so would like to see a real measure of it because I don´t track them at all), and a fire jump rope workout!
    Last but not least hehe, much love from Colombia..definitely love your videos!!! ❤️❤️❤️

    I'd love to see a "at home workout with Fox". Sometimes they have a bad day and toddlers wont give you a break but for mental health it's great to move your body. So how could you incorporate Fox into a workout to get some bonding time PLUS a workout for you :)
