  • Walking the full length of the Malverns (end-to-end) is an achievable ambition for many hill walkers. This video will make you appreciate the scale of the challenge and after watching it a couple of times you will have the visualisation and mindset to begin studying an OS Explorer #190 map in detail.
Once you reach British Camp, the task of following the ridge-line becomes easy, but between Chase End Hill and British Camp there are several places where you can go very wrong. During these early stages, you're often low-down in dense woodland, without a clear view of the hills, and at several places you'll have multiple paths to chose from.
Avoiding getting lost (at the start) is only one problem. Ensuring that you truly know where lesser known hill-tops are (e.g. Hollybush Hill, Hangman's Hill and End Hill) is important too, otherwise you risk expending 10+ walking miles of precious time and calories without actually completing the challenge properly. All of this knowledge will help you to successfully achieve your objective of walking The Malverns end-to-end and touching all 19 of the high points.
A couple of drone shots were incorporated into this film, but the drone took off and landed from outside of the land controlled by The Malvern Hill Conservators, and at all times complied with CAA requirements.

I did this walk on 30th December when the hills were covered in snow. It was a great day out.

I did the 3D map with 'Viewranger'. It's quite tricky to produce the video though.

The hardest thing to achieve was putting moving titles above the hills in the initial pan shot. So frustrating, but worth it in the end.

Hi I have a question. I really want to do end to end walk. But the problem is I don’t have anybody to go with. Is it possible to start from North hill end and walk back from the mid way? In that case could you suggest any car park?

To do what you're doing, i.e. looping back via flattish side footpaths, you MUST have OS Explorer Map 190 with you, as there are a surprising number of minor paths that will take you through (beautiful) areas you wouldn't otherwise explore that will at times be confusing and disorientating. That way (with a map), you can pick and choose what paths to take depending on how steep & muddy they are, and how tired you are.
Most people wanting to park at the north end would use 'North Quarry Car Park', 32 N Malvern Rd, Malvern WR14 4LT. For that reason, nearly everyone treats the most northerly hill in the range as 'North Hill'. I wouldn't do this though... for me (a purist), I would want to include 'End Hill', Table Hill and Sugarloaf Hill and personally, because I think the best, most peaceful flat-walk for your return trip is on the western side of the hills, I would park roadside in West Malvern, as close to 'Lamb Bank', WR14 4NN as I could. That way you've got the most pleasant walk back and you include the actual most northerly hill. If you check out my RUclips film that covers North Hill, Table Hill and End Hill, and reverse my route, you can get a pretty good idea of the start of your walk.
If you want to split it truly 50:50, then the turnaround point is British Camp car-park, and I would return north along the road 'Jubilee Drive'. That will get you to the Wyche Cutting, and from there you can pick paths that run just to the right of West Malvern Road. This round trip is a 10 mile walk (I just calculated it on some mapping software).
If you are tired on your actual walk on the actual day, you could then be flexible and decide to stop earlier (The Wyche Cutting?) and return to your car via paths to the side of West Malvern Road. That would be a 5 mile round-trip.
