Yamaha are using an ageing technique using ultrasonic sound beams to help improve the sweetness of the tonewoods. They never mentioned which wood or on a finished product and for how long. But I figure it’s just a selling technique. I would suggest you find your guitar and if it feels right, looks right and sounds right you would keep it for life anyway. Period.
Its looks beautiful and sounds good when unplugged l dont like the sound of the E2 system it sounds like a cheap microphone and no treble The E1-system sounds better .replace the E2 system to LR Baggs Elements and l cant believe how nice is the no quack carboard sounds it very natural acoustic sound:)
I agree, as an acoustic guitar its one of the best I have heard - lovely warm, full bodied, great sustain and finished to the highest of standards. Not so sure of the E2 system myself. I played one in our local store and I was just captivated by the overall tone. I know people are saying its expensive, but high end Taylor guitars are works of art.
+Dev9172 I was going to say . I played this and then the Dean Exotica Series Acoustic Electric Guitar with Aphex I picked the DEAN . saved enough to buy 2.
This guitar has a very nice sound. The koa looks are great but the real attraction for me is the unique sound. I am a huge koa fan.
To each his own I suppose, but I think it has a cool mellowed sound. I’d be curious to hear what a well played one sounds like in about 5 years.
Bump…
5 years later! :-
I have 7 year old Koa guitar and it’s crazy how much better it got after the years. Best guitar I have other than my Gibson Heritage 1970
Iv got the koa gs mini it's absolutely awesome guitar my favorite acoustic to play

whats the Name of the Piece hes playing at the beginning?
That is really quite something to look at
Saw this guitar on a tV commercial - looks great but was disappointed it was Koa - owned a Taylor Koa guitar before - rosewood sounds so much better
MISTY HOPP I’ve heard that koa guitars sound better as they age.
with what tuner do you tune the guitars with? sweet tuner strobo?
Don't agree with you dude, I have owned a KOA Alverez for years..and I would put it up to any silka top mid to upper range..Martin or taylor..
I held one and gave it a strum
Lesson here, always shake the guitar after each riff.
Shaking the guitar like that is slightly bending the neck almost like very slightly bending the whammy bar on an electric
Just do it

The good ole days before V-Class 😂
I love the way they look . BUT . I played a few of them . It does not sound as good as my 314 or my GS Mini . And wow . how much they cost .

It's very cheap! around 6 to 7k $ I think! 😲
Sounded like floor 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Koas nice but very very very very very bright lolll
The looks are to die for, but the sound is not so great.
Not so great? Lol okay bud.
Agreed.
Maybe because he’s got the mic in a horrible spot for guitar demoing. Should be around the 12th fret I bet it would sound a world different.
Lacking bass.
