A lifetime ago after first hearing Willie I sent a letter
to Him sharing my love for his Music.
About 2 weeks later I received a box delivered
by UPS to my home. In that box included several
T - shirts , a 9x12 photo of Willie and that infamous
Red Bandana, thank you Willie for making my
life a better place.
❤love your music for 40 years keep it up as long you can!!!!!..❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The house burns down and Willie managed to save the guitar and the weed. .....a true musician for sure
+Shane P the IRS came down and Willie saved Trigger. Don't think they weren't looking for it. They probably had side bets on who would lay hands on it!
+Keri Whiteaker He gave it to his daughter to hide so that they couldn't take Trigger
+Keri Whiteaker He sent it with his daughter to Hawaii so they wouldnt find it.
+Shane P - A true pot-head
Man had his priorities in order.
I just cried watching this, I hope he lives forever 😭
When Willie's gone this will be the most expensive guitar in history. I Never tire of Blue Eyes Cryin in the Rain!!!
While working in Austin TX, I had the pleasure of serving this lovely man. After he and his boys finished their meals, he invited my boss, coworker and myself(we were the only ones there at the time) to go smoke with him on his bus before his show. I got to meet trigger. Willie is the nicest guy ever!! One of Greatest days of my life.
Now that's what I call a tip! 🇺🇸🤗❤️
I played this guitar once. As a college student at West Texas State in Canyon in about 1975 or 76, my buddies and I were helping set up for a Willie Nelson concert. The roadie was handing me instruments to unpack and set on stage. When I pulled this guitar out of the case, I immediately recognized it and asked if it would be ok to play a little bit since I played guitar. He said “NO!” But as I was about to put it in the stand, I managed a C, D, and G before he could stop me! Funny story but my only real claim to fame.
You sir have touched greatness!👍 Well done.
I was friends with Dick Dale many years ago. My wife and I (and sons) were visiting him at his Sky Ranch in 29 Palms when he brings out his 1961 Strat that Leo Fender gave him. I got my Strat out of my car .
We exchanged guitars and sat on his living room sofa and played for about an hour. He signed my guitar. I still have it.
Dick is gone now and his gear is all tied up in estate legal battles. That 61 Strat should go in the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville.
Bullshit

I remember Snoop Dogg telling at The Ellen Show that Willie Nelson is the only person who ever outsmoked him ...
hahahaa
Two legends … what Willie and Trigger gave to the music world can never be duplicated.
Years ago my husband and I went to see Willie in ATL. After the concert we went backstage and Willie handed my husband a beer and kissed me right on the lips!!!! Will never forget that moment!!
Man I love willy, But he would’ve got a punch that day.
One of the last truly beloved Americans. He has put his money and energy behind the things he believes in...music, biodiesel, weed, farmers...for decades. The voice, the guitar, the writing, the tributes to other artists...Willie is a great artist through and through. And all with very little ego. He is truly in love with life.
.
Got no fancy words to say, I just love the music Willie and Trigger make together.
Hello friend, how are you doing today
I saw Willie and Trigger I Fayetville Arkansas 1982. Best performance I have ever seen! Thank you Willie! I still love your tunes and attitude!
Willie seems like such a genuine person.
One day, when Willie is no more, Trigger will be worth millions.
It will hopefully be placed in the museum and not passed around to collectors.
You cannot name a more legendary duo than Willie and Trigger.
Maybe but Lennon-McCartney comes pretty close
my dick and my balls
Willie is the real deal. He's got heart and passion and brains and character. He's lived life on his own terms, and has inspired countless millions across several generations who needed a man like him to come along and welcome them all in regardless of whatever prejudices divided people at the time. He will always be honored and remembered for trailblazing a way forward for everyone lost and in need of a way toward the light.
Willie is the kind of guy you'd love to just sit down and chat with over a couple of beers. I can only imagine the stories he would be able to tell.
Possibly one of the most valuable guitars ever
That's not just valuable, that's priceless. In the truest sense of the term.
Can't buy the type of spirit that beautiful old relic has got.
Not one of… THE most valuable there ever was and that there ever will be.
Must be close to priceless
Probably end up in the Smithsonian buried in some vault.
Trigger is and will always be part of Nelson. It's an extension of his body.
I love this. I've started documenting local guys guitars in the same way. It will never be a star or get millions of views, but it's a story that they will be able to share with their children, grandchildren, and beyond. The wood, the metal, the plastic, and the strings are imbued with our aura and the stories play on long after we're gone.
Respect sir.
Awesome
1969 special to Willie for Trigger and Austin...

Willie your a national treasure, Trigger is too. I've jammed for years & never seen a guitar that showed
its usage like, Trigger does. If only Trigger could talk, I imagine it would tell some interesting tales.
Love your music Willie & I just love everything about you. Thanks for a lot of memories. Have one for me.

Trigger tells and plays the great story of Willie Nelson and its written all over the vision of that magnificent guitar. Trigger will probably become one of the most sought after and expensive guitar in the world when Willie passes on God bless him and the instrument that is him.
That is if they don’t just bury Trigger with Willie

Love this one, great new song Willie, The Border, brings tears
That guitar is unmistakable
I love how much he loves his guitar.
What a great little documentary - and profile of America at it's best. A must see for guitar aficionados. The Willie Nelson story is inspiring. He created music that has entertained and influenced generations. And he did it playing a Martin guitar. This story & Willie's journey is as much about "Trigger" - as he called his guitar - as it is Willie. Trigger was made at the Martin Guitar factory in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. It's been making guitars there since 1833. It made Willie's Martin N-20, his "Trigger." And it's still making guitars. Americans making musical instruments and Americans making music: America at its' best. As a music lover and an aspiring guitarist I've been singing along to "Whiskey River" since I was a teenager. As an old man now I love to strum my Martin guitar along with Willie and Trigger.

What a great man our Willie is. He is a brilliant songwriter, performer, guitar player, singer and I'd venture to say an all round really decent guy. I've only been to one concert by Willie, but his music plays in my house and in my car frequently. Willie is one of God's very special people.
❤Amen to this!
Every day that Wiilie , Trigger can continue to put a smile on my face & the faces of so many others are very good days
Hello friend, how are you doing today
Willie and Trigger are national treasures
Thank you Willie for all your great songs. You made a lot of great singers famous from the songs you wrote. Thanks again.
Meet willie in a concert in Australia he wore my bandana on stage and we shook hands I been listening to will since The mid sixties I love him
Grew up in TEXAS and everyone in the late 70s wore boots and danced on the sandy cornmeal floors to the Western poetry of Willy, Waylon and the Boys, I held and spun so many pretty girls as Willy and Trigger filled our ears with music and rhymes, that let us escape the pressures of life - THANKS Willy and Trigger.
People don't give Willie near enough credit for his approach to guitar. Who else in country is inspired by Django Reinhart and plays in that style, let alone with a nylon-string guitar?
I'm also glad Willie eventually rebelled against the clean-shaven homogenized country image that was so inherent with Nashville artists during his time. Shotgun Willie is one of the best examples of music ever recorded, period.
Willies sound is totally iconic, the sound of trigger is totally unique, the nylon strings and buzz of the worn down frets the pickup on the guitar, the second sound hole. Willies voice like his guitar carries all his experiences.
Thank you for this video. The story of Trigger and Willie is a musical love story. His loyalty to that instrument, when he could have any guitar in the world, is a thing of beauty. It makes me look at my own instruments differently. Peace Willie.

This guitar definitely has a unique sound. When I hear just the first note I will know that is “trigger “. I love the sound of this guitar 💕💕
Thank you so much I really really enjoyed watching you Willie and Trigger telling us all about your story that’s both sad and joyful too. You are both legendary, for lots of reason, all of which make you the one and only partnership in history’s. Please stay safe and well too
I met Willie a few times after concerts I attended. Very humble and generous. He signed my guitar..Eventually I got Johnny Cash Waylon Jennings and Kris Kritofferson to sign. A great story for each autograph. lot.
I knew Poodie. He gave out the back stage passes. He was a good guy.
Wow! What a musical genius! and Willie's pretty good to! 🎸

Priceless guitar. It has a sound like no other. A song you have never heard before, and you hear that guitar, you know it's Willie Nelson before he sings a single word. Pure magic! I have seen Willie, Waylon and Trigger in concert......none better! It will be a sad day when this man dies.
You just said what the dude in the video said. But i agree 100% with you and him.
I wonder if old willy really makes moonshine and if so, would he actually drink that fire water?

I grew up in San Antonio ,tx where Willie was already a legend jn the early seventies. I remember he used to play in Floore's country store and in the beginning I had never heard of him when a musician friend told me excitedly "Let's go see Willie Nelson!" I said "Who's Willie Nelson?"
Well needless to say, I soon did. Unique music and a one of a kind is Willie, like Elvis or Ray Charles.
My GOD i LOVE this!!! thank you very much....and thank you Trigger.....for all the good times and music.....

Trigger is a great guitar for sure. But lets not forget the master who made Trigger sound so iconic Willie Nelson the red headed stranger. Both have aged very well with as few repairs as needed to keep on going if just for one last go around. He is with out a doubt one of the greatest lyricists of our times. His words cut through racial boundries, ethnic boundries, socioeconomic boundries, this man is listened by all he has no absolute set style he does all music genres better than any other musician. Thank you Willie from the top to the bottom of my heart just an old fan, Don Freebird Gregg
Trigger will be for sale at Sothebys sometime in the 30s
It’s amazing how at his age, he is still able to play the guitar so well. Usually a lot of these guys develop arthritis and are unable to even form proper chords anymore(Keith Richards, Bob Dylan and etc) but Willie can still play as well as he did when he was younger.
Smk wed evrryday
My Uncle loves Willie, and cried when Arthur took his guitar..
My Grandmother gave it back.
100%welches pure grape juice with Fruit peckin packet dumped in...MUST BE WELCHES and it takes a few weeks to build up in ones system and when normal again, people forget the reason, stop and must start all over again...I forget if ,6 or 8 ounces a day over ice...You drink that to beat Arthur...
Works!!!!

It really is a beautiful thing. As a guitarist myself I have a worn down acoustic and a worn down Epiphone SG that have been through hell and back with me. If you are lucky enough to have that kind of connection with an instrument it really does show through in the sound.
I love you Willie....just a poor boy I am.
Hi David, how are you doing today
The stories that guitar must have....wow, just wow.
Long live Trigger and Willie
WoW~ I knew trigger was his guitar but this video made me aware of something. Ive aleays treasured the accomplishment of learning my 1st solo on guitar. It just happened naturally back in 1981. NOW I REALIZE THAT TRIGGER GAVE ME THAT 1ST MIGHTY SPARK OF ENCOURAGEMENT TO GET GOOD ON GUITAR. JUST A BEGINNER, A FEW MONTHS INTO PLAYING A GUITAR THAT MY DAD MARSHALL HAD GIVEN ME AT 10 YRS OLD, I DIDNT PLAY MUCH BUT AT THE AGE OF 13, I HEARD THAT GUITAR SOLO ON THE 45RPM OF "YOU WERE ALWAYS ON MY MIND". I HAD 3 STRINGS ON THE GUITAR, CAUSE MY BIG BROTHER JEFF HAD BROKE A FEW PLAYING AIR GUITAR TO LYNARD SKYNYRD, BUT THE 6TH 5TH and 3rd/G string was on there, but i learned THAT SOLO on that one string, note for note. It taught me the major scale pattern. From there, i exoloded. THANK YOU WILLIE & TRIGGER ! YOU ARE THE INSPIRATION THAT HAS HELPED ME TO GET THROUGH THE TOUGHEST TIMES, & LIVED THROUGH GREAT TIMES TOO. ALL BECAUSE THE AWESOME TONE & SOUND OF THAT GUITAR, CAUGHT MY EARS ATTENTION. I'M GOING TO OFFER WILLY 50 DOLLARS CASH FOR IT. HECK ITS ALL BEAT UP🤣😅😂😉😆
Hi Patrick, how are you doing today
The story about his house house burning down is awesome and sort of personifies the essense of Country music.
I saw one of Willie's last concerts before the pandemic. Before the show started the roadies brought out and set up Trigger on the stage and suddenly there was a crowd of people up front taking pictures. When you have people taking pictures of your guitar before you even hit the stage...I mean that is pretty cool. It was a great show too (January 2020 Redding CA). We'd heard he was frail, etc. but he sure didn't show it...soloed on every song and generally kicked ass. My buddy sprang for front row center tickets...he caught Willie's hat when he threw it into the crowd...and I caught a bandana a few minutes later. Great great show. ;~)
Front row centre. You lucky son of a bitch.
It's like a famous swordsman and his sword - you can't have one without the other. Just seeing Trigger alone will send chills through the crowd. You know Willie is coming, when you see Trigger.
I love electric guitars when their playing to extreme metal and hard Rock but sometimes I need a acoustic sound in my mind especially when Mr. Nelson or Johnny Cash is playing it.
Thank you so much for the unwavering love and support. Indeed you are a true fan. You can write me on willienelson426@gmail.com
Willie is definitely one of a kind, and a True Texan!
In the mid 70’s when I was about 8 years old I had front row center seats to one of his shows. I had a custom made t shirt that said I ❤ Willie. I had braids and a red bandana and red cowboy boots. I tossed him my bandana and he played with it on the end of trigger and threw it back to me and smiled. Some very large horrible woman snatched it out of the air and wouldn’t let me have it. He was mid song and glared at her and strummed trigger extra hard in displeasure while the crowd at the front booed her. Later he gave me an autograph when he saw me and he had already turned down many. Funny thing was he was so drunk from passing a whisky jug back and forth with fans in the front row that his signature looked more like it said Waylon than it did Willie. But I will never forget that moment we had. I will be absolutely gutted when he heads off yonder. He’s a world treasure.
Willie and Trigger, absolute legends!✌️
Thank you so much for the unwavering love and support. Indeed you are a true fan. You can write me on willienelson426@gmail.com
WOW, Willie best ever on guitar! John P.
WILLE IS THE REAL DEAL HES VOICE HAVE NEVER CHANCE. LOVE YOU WILLE.
Not just going by what household name has played them, but in terms of being one of a kind and irreplaceable instruments, I think Trigger and Brian May's Special Red share the honor of being the most valuable guitars on the planet.
And rightfully so. Trigger and Red Special are SO cool. They have all the mojo
I recently watched another video where Mark Erlewine (the luthier that looks after Trigger) was interviewed. He told a nice anecdote. Willie's management was once very concerned that Trigger could falls apart beyond repair one day, so they jumped through all the hoops to dig out another Martin guitar from the exact same year as Trigger and gave it to Mark to modify it in the exact same way as Trigger. So he did and presented it to Willie. He plugged a couple of chords on it, put it aside and never touched it ever since
I life well lived - I hope we have many more years of Willie and Trigger - this is American Culture
Love him I'm so glad I got to grow up with his music And my kids did too, now my son Plays with his wife and my grandson is learning the banjo
This was very informative and enjoyable. I admire Willie greatly for his music, philosophy and forward thinking humanist actions...
'Crazy' and :Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain' are two of my favourite songs. I'm a classical and jazz guitarist yet can see there is much to admire in his musicianship altogether.
I am definitely not classical or jazz guitarist, but I hear what you are saying. Willie's playing stle is unique and frequently his solos sound jazzy to me. Perhaps it is the Jango infuence, but it is unique.
