It's better than nothing i guess, im self trained in hand to hand combat but i do escrima in a club. The first time i tried to do a roundhouse kick i though i was good at it but when i record my self i had a lot of mistakes like leaning to much and and hitting with the side of my feet. But now my roundhouse is pretty good but it's more like a karare style of roundhouse. It took me like maybe 4 or 5 months just to make my roundhouse kick more cleaner.
I think it really depends on how experienced u are with overall training principles. If you are aware of these things you can improve them. Core point of training "by ur self" is following as most experienced instructors from web, as possible. Notice that, these days we have a LOT of very viable tutorials from top tier fighters, that wouldnt be availbe for us in different form. Ofc it is way easier route to go with qualified trainer but many of us just doesnt have that posibility.
I am second command have the hardest kick in the kids and I am in advance class and I am fighting in a smoker I never missed a day I know all my strikes 😅

You can but knees can be quite tricky, you need to hit at a 45 degree angle I will do a video once I get to Thailand
