Definitely. See if you can scale it down, that blur and DoF is wayyyyy too strong to be immersive. Still if it can be scaled back I bet the graphics will be pretty.
They should really turn down the blur effect, reduce the constrast and bloom slightly, and increase the brightness a bit then it would be wonderful. The depth of field is too shallow as well, it can work but it seems too extreme for most shots. Half of the time the shots looked great, and the other half of the time they looked a bit ridiculous. Could look great in documentaries and good in cinematic battles, but I think it would possibly be better to spare it on a strategic one; of course you could try it and see how it goes. However, I may be a bit more picky as someone who makes films and does photography. I still enjoyed the video, for me, the mod didn't enhance much. Whatever you think is best, I'm sure you will make the right call of when and where to use it!
No worries Oakley this mod can easily be implemented for Attila, its ins and outs have nothing to do with the specific game. There's a program called GeDoSaTo made by the same guy that made GEM and it's essentially the same thing but for a huge list of games.
AWESOME. Nuff said. I've been using this mod for a while now with my Rome II game haha. Looking forward to seeing this with your documentaries man. Do tweak a bit as blur is a little too much.
Vincent Rogers I've learned my lesson from CA. They always show some over-graphical game, with over-enhanced A.I. I'm willing to bet that Warhammer will have slightly better graphics then Attila, and will have horrible A.I., and combat(single men walking through a whole unit).
The blur is a little bit too overwhelming. Yeah it makes the game look better but it's to blurry. I don't need glasses so I know that it is way to blurry. I've been playing this game for quite sometime and yeah you can tell a big difference. The negative results are just much more than all the positives. I don't know it might just be me but it's very overwhelming, the blur just hits you in the face like BAM. Very surprising amazing, but has some negative products too.
It looks beautifull when close to the units, but when you're further away, it's way too blurry. I hope you can figure out a way to make it less blurry and then do a battle with it again, because that would be awesome. I'm also wondering if it looks a bit different in game then it does in the video.
Hey Oakley, You could ask my fellow Germans #Kaisa and #Wolfman (best Rome Total War II Machinima producers out there) about the right setting of the mod ;) Do you know their channels? These guys are just awesome!
how can you play on maps with such beauty with this mod and the nice sunset besides prologue i either play with a annoying red sky or mist can anyone help me
Historically speaking, in the army of Alexander the Great, they were something around 16-20 men deep, and more like square formations. In the game, however, if you've got 4 ranks of them, then you already have all of the pike angles, or at least the necessary ones, and an increased span of width, to cover more ground. Which is very useful for blocking streets, and well, "crowd control". If you find yourself facing elephants which are stupid enough to charge into your phalanx lines, then I do recommend you make the unit deeper to be able to remain stable after the charge and not be broken through. So it's really personal preference, but I just tell myself; elephants = deep, no elephants = not deep. And in case this wasn't obvious, keep them covered with another unit when in range of missiles, or simply keep them out of range. Hope this was helpful :D
could you a imagine the Roman civil wars if every house legions were the same standard roman color lolololololololol i can only imagine mass confusion and friendly soldiers killing each other in battle and then when they think they claim victory, they all cheer in celebrations in the midst of their remaining enemies lolololol
this is too damn blurry man. GEMFX is amazing tool if you have time to play with it. i personally run combination of Sweetfx and gem fx exclusive effects. mostly ambient lighting, sharpening, Da Vinci effect and some gamma tweaks.
you guys are so lucky that RT2 works i've got the intel 4000 grafics 2Mgb so it works like crap i have to do medium grafics 1v1 to make it work :(((.But it's a realy nice game :)
too much Dark shadows. The Blur is not good in the multiplayer battles. Its harder to see the enemy on the edges of the cammera and so on.I feel like im drunk.
Please do tweak the graphics. The mod does look beautiful compared to vanilla, especially when you zoom out but, when you close up it's too fucking blurry.
PLEASE don't use this mod anymore! It may look cool when you're playing it but it looks awful when watching it on RUclips, and it's actually kind of hard to watch.
It's a bit over board on the blur though
Definitely. See if you can scale it down, that blur and DoF is wayyyyy too strong to be immersive. Still if it can be scaled back I bet the graphics will be pretty.
That's because it's set on Cinematic mode I believe, there's another preset called Realistic and it's pretty good I'd say.
So much blur. Just needs some more mountain dew and weed, then we can add a faze clan tag.

Am I missing something here? How is this beautiful, the game was already gorgeous! It looks blurry and strange Oakley!
Waaaay too blurry. Scale it down a little if you can.
I wonder if anyone mentioned the blur in the comments?
Total Porn: Rome 2
Turn down the blur and up the brightness
I think a unit re-skin/re-texture mod would be really cool to see, especially the ones that offer more variety.
Great vid, but the blur hurt my eyes too much gave me a headache

Me personally using the non-shader options because realistic and real color are lil bit dark and blurry for some reason.
CA must've used this mod when showing the game off before release.
Wehrmacht Bunny lol, but I actually think thats true, being cautious about Warhammer cause of that shit.
Vincent Rogers I've learned my lesson from CA. They always show some over-graphical game, with over-enhanced A.I.

Wehrmacht Bunny
yeah, might just wait for the lord of the rings mod, cuz I got Attila, which is a pretty polished game...
What a great video, can't wait to see more games with this. What a fucking find, love it dude, keep it up.
For Attila you should do a video on the siege of the actual city of Rome. I'd love to see what CA's done with it.
Oakley I was wondering if you could do a massive Battle with viking forefathers in Attila?
The blur is a little bit too overwhelming. Yeah it makes the game look better but it's to blurry. I don't need glasses so I know that it is way to blurry. You should use "by-pass UI" option in GEMFX configurator. It makes this mod not affct game interface and works awesome! :-)
Can you make a video guide which explains how to set this mod?
It looks beautifull when close to the units, but when you're further away, it's way too blurry. I hope you can figure out a way to make it less blurry and then do a battle with it again, because that would be awesome. I'm also wondering if it looks a bit different in game then it does in the video.
The light seems to dull the colors on the soldiers.
If you don't mind me asking, what is your PC specs Oakley?
how much better does the mod look in game, as opposed to the video?
Are you using the generic version of GEMFX (1.8) or the Rome 2 dedicated version (1.7)
Damn, with this and Homeworld Remastered, it's time to save money for a PC upgrade...
I couldn't find the mod on the workshop. Do you know the exact name of it?
Hey Oakley,
You could ask my fellow Germans #Kaisa and #Wolfman (best Rome Total War II Machinima producers out there) about the right setting of the mod ;)
Do you know their channels? These guys are just awesome!
Yeah it looks really nice but the blur is a bit heavy though.
what about documantry about the great rebelion in judea?
how can you play on maps with such beauty
with this mod and the nice sunset
besides prologue i either play with a annoying red sky
or mist
can anyone help me
really a nice battle and really looking good graphics. good comments also
sometimes the graphics are epic and brilliant, but sometimes it's hard to see what's going on. with some tweaks i think this could be amazing
to blurry and dark
looks so blurry like medieval II graphics to me
Is it better to use the pikes in 4 deep? Thought they were around 16 man deep in real life?

This isn't real life.
11Sparky111 no shit. thought the game was historical
Make a trailer using the type of cut scenes u zoom in on
could you a imagine the Roman civil wars if every house legions were the same standard roman color lolololololololol
i can only imagine mass confusion and friendly soldiers killing each other in battle and then when they think they claim victory, they all cheer in celebrations in the midst of their remaining enemies lolololol
Looks great
Not sure if it was the map but it was a little blurry or hazy
thats a graphical mod
R u fry?
This is what Rome II Should of looked like at release.
minterman237 Minus motion blur.
Point taken, but you get the idea of my comment right?
is it just me or do you bring some really odd collections of units for battles?
PLZ do a massive siege with this mod
this is too damn blurry man. GEMFX is amazing tool if you have time to play with it. i personally run combination of Sweetfx and gem fx exclusive effects. mostly ambient lighting, sharpening, Da Vinci effect and some gamma tweaks.
You should try out the Lord of the rings mod
how did you download this?
Man macedon got rolled
can someone please tell me or link me to all the shortcut/hotkeys in battles you will be in my debt :D
I think you mean that you will be in their debt.
you guys are so lucky that RT2 works i've got the intel 4000 grafics 2Mgb so it works like crap i have to do medium grafics 1v1 to make it work :(((.But it's a realy nice game :)
that was just just . . . i dont even know what to say

Romans buffed but "Unity Of The Tribes". How ironic...
Also, I can't see.
A like for the battle!
No like for blur ;)
Oakley got nerd-gasm. lol
Am I the only one who thinks the lightning is too dark?
this mode hurts my ayes , ho made this mode should redoo it
But it is, Beatiful!!!
too much Dark shadows. The Blur is not good in the multiplayer battles. Its harder to see the enemy on the edges of the cammera and so on.I feel like im drunk.
Please do tweak the graphics.

The graphics are awful sorry.
I couldn't watch this, the blur was too much.
I´m sorry but I just can´t watch this, way to blurry. I hope you can change it a bit because I love your other videos :)
like
PLEASE don't use this mod anymore! It may look cool when you're playing it but it looks awful when watching it on RUclips, and it's actually kind of hard to watch.
Honestly I don't like it much. IDK if it looks different in game but on you tube to me it looks very fake.
like ps3
Dude can you stop zooming in like that? it is painful to watch
It´s so ugly!!!
Yucky mod
