I have never missed a single show with Stephen. And of all the acts that have closed his show, none could touch this. Hats off Mr. Rateliff. You have created a masterpiece. You have reached in and wrenched the soul of mankind.
The Guardian's review of this album seemed to focus a lot on this song, and maybe this is me getting defensive on behalf of one of my favorite singers, but this performance proves them wrong, hands down. If we were supposed to only consider lyrics in the worth of a song, it would be a poem. The emotion and feeling that Rateliff imbues those words with is why people will sing it to each other. And why I absolutely love his music.
MosesPlays That particular may be depressing, but he’s got other songs that are sweet, and are great for the soul. Even his most devastating song about alcoholism is awesome to dance to! And the video for it is pretty funny.
Absolutely beautiful. He is amazing. Thank you late night. Can we also give it up for his background singer? Those two are a match made in musical heaven.
First saw him years ago in a bar in Glasgow. Must have been about 50 people there. Great to see his music and voice getting the recognition it deserves.
Sorry for the loss of David Roback. Mazzy star was and still is a big favorite of mine. Nathaniel rateliff in my opinion is one of greatest song writers ever!!! He's a breath of fresh air in an otherwise stagnant world of bullshit song writers. Keep doing what you do and i will continue to listen like so many others that get it!
Colbert’s Late Show is my “escape” back home as I live abroad. It brings me so much joy! An added plus is that they always have awesome musical talent. I’ve been introduced to many musicians through The Late Show! Thanks for an all around amazing show! Hope to see it live one day!
@@OurBovinePublic almost all of his old solo stuff is amazing. Time for the sweats to take a break so more people can hear the amazing solo work this guy does.
This is an album he produced outside of the Nightsweats. Apparently when touring Tearing at the Seams, the Nightsweats started writing more folk/country music which is where they all started long before the Nightsweats were formed
@@jackfitzpatrick2992 Yeah, the Nightsweats are the side project. Previous output was more this: ruclips.net/video/3CtbCJcek-o/видео.html, and if you want to go even further back, to his rock band, check this out: ruclips.net/video/cuFhM-JgSe0/видео.html

Great song, great artist.
And he's a high-quality, kindhearted human being, too.
Sounds of fact an many

Beautiful voice and beautiful heart. His story is of a very hard life, yet many of his songs are uplifting.

Its about a good friend of his that passed away. He saying you have to go on and find joy in life even with great sadness that comes along with life
.
I don't usually listen to the music acts unless I know/like the performer. I'm really glad I clicked on this!
Jess Witherspoon you, should try it more often. Or you will miss out on alot af good music:)
Guarantee all the best artists, you'll never have heard of them.
I’m usually the same but that’s how you get to know new talent
Go and check out his earlier work, it is phenomenal.

That looks to be Mark Shusterman, the keyboardist of the Night Sweats
I met him! As Jeff said, that's Mark. Super awesome guy, amazing pianist, and singer.
@@jeffbaumert3642 Right on. So many amazing players in that band but he's the secret sauce of that outfit, in my opinion.
I’ve had this album on repeat since it dropped, I love this man! Keep it goin, great music
His voice is so soulful. 😍 love this song. So looking forward to seeing him live in concert. It's on my bucket list. 🥰🎶🎸💕✌

I love Nathaniel Rateliff.
We lost an icon, John Prine, last year to Covid. Nathaniel's music reminds me so much of John's music. I love it!
Love this guy.
Fantastic!
Amazing job!! He is really diverse excited to hear more stuff
Great song for sure.
Hey Stephen Colbert! He's going to perform at Bernie's Rally March 2nd at the St. Paul River Centre!!

This is genius.
Hoping my pre-order CD arrives today ... it's a long way from Rateliff to OZ ...
What happen to the night sweats part of it???? Anyone who knows please tell me...
Just taking a break from the sweats they will be back
Samantha Bumgarner it’s just a solo album
He was a solo artist before the night sweats. Some of his older stuff is incredible.

The Night Sweats came long after him - Listen to In Memory of Loss. Amazing album.
Thank you Pytor
I liked that a lot

Real Estate plz
Daniel Radcliffe.
no, no it not
That’s not Harry Potter...
I can name that song in 2 chords. Good lyrics and powerful voice, but Meh. Not my thing.
The band and voice are horrible!! (I went back to spell check just in case). Uggghhghggg!!
