I've never heard anyone as consistent as this man. Every time I hear him the same is on point .. Probably my favorite artist or neck and neck with Otis Redding
We were fortunate to see him in Chicago a few weeks ago before everything went on lockdown. One of the best performances I have been able to see. Nathaniel has a true gift and his latest album is one of my all time favorites.
I was lucky enough to see them in San Francisco last November and my love for Nathaniel and the Night Sweats is cemented forever in my heart. I can't wait for them to perform within a few hours from me again... depending on the location, I might even fly out to go see them!! I'm already sad that they're no where nearby this year. Love, love, love!!!!
What a thought provoking interview. Sometimes you can tell by the music how much of a deep thinker someone really is. That's definitely true of Rateliff.
Absolutely Wow! One of the best I've seen out of The Current, and I've seen many. What an impressive display of faith and courage. Thank you Nathaniel Rateliff. I'm so grateful to turn the radio station on each day and find such wonderful programming in my home state of Minnesota.
Couldn't believe Nathaniel and The Night Sweats were coming to Oshawa, Ontario with City and Colour! Awesome night. Thanks for making a cold Canadian February a little warmer! 🎸 🇨🇦
Such raw emotion from this album, by far some of his best work. I know Swift is probably looking down on us and Nathaniel, beautiful work as always. This is criminally underrated.
He is such a beautiful person, thoughtful and soulful...his music is absolutely brilliant. I cannot go through one day without listening to him and/or him and the Night Sweats. Thank you for such a great interview and having him play. ❤
What an incredible musician and songwriter Nathaniel is. Props to Jade and the rest of The Current staff for capturing so beautifully the amazing gift that Nathaniel has to offer. And thanks to Nathaniel himself for sharing these emotional songs and having the courage to write this solo album after success with The Nightsweats. Happy to see him pursuing this sound again. Keep it up
All or Nothing is one of my favorite songs of this record. Was so looking forward to seeing him in SF but will have to wait until this virus gets taken care of. Until then I listen to all these interviews and performances and I am amazed at how good Nathaniel Rateliff is as a songwriter, singer, guitar player and person all around
Thanks for doing this interview/performance The Current. Nathaniel Rateliff is an incredible talent, and this solo album is just amazing. I’m so glad to hear him tell you he is doing ok after all he has been through recently. Love all of Nathaniel’s music, solo and with the Night Sweats.
It’s so rare to find a connection so strong between brilliant writing and performance and absolute engagement to a craft. You can feel so much authentic emotion, I find myself watching this over and over and am absolutely entrenched in the raw beauty of this set. Thank you so much to all involved.
Another great session. I’m so glad to see him become successful. As a musician myself, that is my dream, to get my music out on a grand scale. So I can’t imagine how happy he must be to get it out to such a massive audience.
Thank you Nathaniel. You bring me a way to express with words my deepest feelings. I do love your insightful songs you bring to all of us. Survivor was my intro to your musical creations and I continue in awe.
Great interview Jade! I think I like Nathaniel Rateliff more and more as I read/hear more interviews he does. This new album is so moving and touches the soul.
OMG I LOVE Jim Sullivan's UFO album, that's why i heard it at the Edgefield show in Portland the other day!! Got me listening to that awesome album again. Nilsson too! oh we can talk...
I was curious what condensers you used on Nathaniel's guitar. Hell, might as well as the vocal mic, as well? It sounds really fantastic. This is the first time I've come across your posts and I'm really stoked to dig back through your archives. Thanks for sharing this!
I love Nathan and his singing but that interviewer sounded more like psychiatrist. Why try to rip sadness and loss out of a person on a public venue. Not right.
what is it about Nathaniel that makes me want to hug him? a true soul- full man.
I've never heard anyone as consistent as this man. Every time I hear him the same is on point .. Probably my favorite artist or neck and neck with Otis Redding
This man is a marvelous artist. I love everything about him: his guitar work, his voice, his lyrics and his soul.
I came to say the exact same thing! I feel exactly the same way

The talent from this guy is just unreal.

He is just my absolute favorite! Much Love!
I love everything he does, he is what music should be about, he's got it all - writing, singing, instruments, so much talent.
It doesn't get better than Nathaniel Rateliff.
What a beautiful session! Big thumbs up to the host and the sound engineer! This is pure gold!

An excellent performance by Nathaniel. Very sensible and heartfelt questions by Jade. Thanks for this wonderful music.
I admire mistakes, we are human. Your music, so terrific, yes, mistakes, as you play your humanity. Just discovered your music and thrilled!!
What a great interview and session! You rock Nathaniel 🤗 I adore you!
He has quickly become my favorite musician!
Wow, this is good. Second song made my eyes water.

I've been listening for years..and this guy has still yet to hit his soul peak and note belting. Good things to come, good things.

Beautiful. Painful. Peaceful. As deep as the Ocean.
Grateful for both of you.
Here's to being vulnerable, great music.

Originality and diverse means of musical messaging. You and your musical compatriots are fantastic!!
Actually, Regina Rich wrote this and paid attention. We're 13 years together.

What a beautiful soul he is!
Powerful voice! A gorgeous performance.
Love this guy!❤️
Love this guy and love this music.
What a great human being.
Heartwrenching and soul crushing
So. Damn. Good.

Bestial 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Something Beautiful
So good
Wow
Awesome! Can I ask which microphones are used in this? It sounds amazing.
I was curious what condensers you used on Nathaniel's guitar. Hell, might as well as the vocal mic, as well? It sounds really fantastic. This is the first time I've come across your posts and I'm really stoked to dig back through your archives. Thanks for sharing this!
We will ask our engineer -- thanks for asking!
Hi Tyler, the guitar mics are Schoeps MK8 figure-8 mics. The vocal mic is a Neumann KMS 105. Thanks so much for asking, and for watching with us!
@@thecurrent Thanks so much!
"there's no secret there is no discovery" cheers
Everyone likes this
So sweet...it ain't all or nuthin......
What guitar is this?! Sounds stellar!
Waterloo
what a cuddly feller
Jim Sullivan is the coolest mystery in music.
Reminds me of Johnny Cash's voice
I love Nathan and his singing but that interviewer sounded more like psychiatrist. Why try to rip sadness and loss out of a person on a public venue. Not right.
Great music interrupted by an inane woman asking pointless questions.
