listen to bruce springsteen you will hear similar vocal styling. why...cause bruce did it first and better. nothing wrong with copying a style or look or feel of someone's music that inspires you...unless its a 100% copy with no originality. This guy at least has original songs which is more than I can say for a lot of new artists of today. He does sing well and perform well, not putting him down...just saying its a copied style.
@@jackwest3282disagree, if you played them both next to each other you can clear hear a difference. Bruce prob did influence him just other’s influenced Bruce
@@jackwest3282 less Springsteen than Van Morrison. I actually really don't see much of a comparison to Springsteen, who I don't much like. I DO very much like Rateliff.
These guys bring every bit of their heart and soul to their music, and there's an authenticity to their sound and presence you can't fake. Their live shows are simply electrifying, I don't remember dancing that much at a concert in my life. Been a massive fan since the first Night Sweats record - and I think it was their Tiny Desk that started it all for me.
Nathaniel Rateliff is my favorite artist, I’m from rural Missouri and he is the best singer ever. Most honest voice and lyrics of anyone I’ve ever heard
Oh wow! I think I’m in love with this guy’s music! It’s been a long time since there’s been any music artist that has caught my fancy, I think it’s kind of funny that I find new music from my favorite Sunday morning news show more than anywhere else lately 😀
Not a new artist but one I recently stumbled upon ..... James McMurtry. Great lyricist. Comes natural as his father was writer Larry McMurtry (Last Picture Show, Terms of Endearment, Lonesome Dove)
Yes good things do come to those who wait, I do like the raspiness of his voice and he seems like he's got a real good sense of humor happy he's getting his just rewards ❤
Been lucky enough to see him live several times and honestly puts on one of the most energetic shows I've ever seen. He always tosses his guitar across the stage...sometimes it makes it, sometimes it doesnt lol
Not a great showman my eye! I'm an old lady that's been to a lot of concerts and he's one of the top 3. They had such a groove going, they didn't care if there was an audience or not, and that my friends, it the definition of showmanship!
“Experiencing joy is not always easy”. Ditto. Had no doubt that they were going to say he grew up in a very religious family. I have felt that way my whole life. The constant guilt and shame. There is a light at the end of the tunnel but it takes a lot of work. Still working
Nathaniel Rateliff is an artist I had to like to from the night I was talking to a friend and his music was playing in the background. Now anytime I see or hear him everything I stops while I listen. It’s music that goes outside the comfort zone.
this is inspiring to me i'm 48 still in the local original music game, i started in it back around '94 hopefully my day will soon come i'm finally getting good at it maybe that's why it's taking so long😅😅 and i'm also recently sober. either way i enjoy performing my music and being on stage critical acclaim or not, whether i'm playing to 5 or 5,000....Nathaniel never compromised his sound, he did it his way and that's the only way i would do it also. if i don't enjoy the music that i'm making on stage no amount of record deals or money matter would matter. Very happy for Him and his success, i'm gonna give them a listen tbh i've never heard them b4. glad i stumbled upon this
You are wrong Nathaniel. You are a great showman! Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Your music speaks to so many. Thank you and your band members.
I will admit I have never heard Daniel Rateliff, but damn I am going to run out and get his music. This is the type of music that touches the soul. As an older fan of rock, blues, and soul, I am glad to discover someone new.
I had the privilege of seeing Nathaniel and the Night Sweats at a benefit for social injustices at a small bar in Denver. What a treat. Was one of the most memorable nights of my life. We were 5' away from the band. What a show the band put on. I even gave Nathaniel a few high-fives and pounds throughout the show.
This 6 minute background story of the much-beloved NR is such an important reminder that life can be so rich if you seek it out. Keep on rockin’ y’all!
I am so proud of this awesome Band. They all are wonderful and have such energy, momentum, and Power. I listen to Nathaniel and Night Sweats Everyday Thru out my day Love, Love, Love, you all. I Share them with everybody I can. I hope to get to see them soon I live in Jacksonville, FL As soon as their close enough to me I am praying I get to meet him also the rest of the guys. i think your extremely beautiful, and you make me laugh. hi I am Amie
I never thought I would fall for a band that prominently features a horn section but man I have. I’m kind of a folk music fan early rock fan but I love this band. So authentic. Can’t wait to see them live. Hopefully sometime this year.
There are several bands/musicians I enjoy listening to more than NR and the Nightsweats. However, I don't think I've ever actually CARED about them like I do NR. They just seem more real and relatable. I'm always happy to see them get their dues as they are great musicians. If you ever get a chance to see a show, don't pass it up. You won't be disappointed.
Went to see Jason Isbell who was opening up for Nathaniel Rateliff and did some investigation into the headliner. Watched a few videos and told me wife we were in for a ride. Isbell was fantastic but NR and the Night Sweats tore the roof off. Seen them four more times since and love them just as much each time. Clearly their hearts and souls are invested in their music and we love them for that.
I'm so glad that my favorite musical artists are getting the recognition they so richly deserve! 🎵😎🎶
Since 2016 mine too. ❤ from Serbia.
I'm beyond grateful for Nathaniel and his music. He is grounded, and humble, and will always be underrated.
I discovered him just recently and love everything about him! He says he’s not a showman? I beg to differ!
His voice and musical sound is so rare and special ❤

Love Nathaniel and The Night Sweats. Real music.
Still Out There Running is my favorite song of theirs… man I love that tune!!!
Thank you for this feature. A good friend of mine has been singing his praises for a couple years and now I understand his appeal

I heard his music for the first time tonight. I’m in complete awe with his work!! 🥰🥰 Music is absolutely amazing. ❤
Been listening to these guys for awhile now and love them. They deserve all the recognition.

Love this music. Wish it was played on the radio playlist.
I absolutely LOVE his music. His first solo album is one of my Top 3 favorite albums all time.
He IS a great showman. So fantastic live. I saw him last Summer and was completely in thrall to him. Dancing, performing perfection!

2015… lol! I’m so in a bubble. I just found out about him 2 years ago! Such an incredible talent! I need more new music!
Just discovered Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats in 2021. Really love your stuff! My new favorite band.
Great to see my friend on the news like this!
Good music is making a comeback.

Nathaniel has two albums recorded at Red Rocks. Both highlight the diversity of his talent and range as a musician.
I always look forward to Anthony's interviews. They are the best. Loved this one.
Hey Mama is my absolute all time favorite song from these guys!
His appearance on The Tonight Show was amazing.🎼🎹🥁🎸
Nathaniel Rateliff seems like a very talented musician. I look forward to listening to more of his music.

A very fun live show. If you get the chance, take it! Saw them here in small town Idaho a few years back. What a great night that was.
Absolutely wonderful music... authentic as you can get, and absolutely full of heart

Billy Strings, now Nathaniel Rateliff? it's almost like quality matters again.
..yea it will sneak up on you if you're not careful these days.

Amazing voice, amazing band! My best wishes.
He's definitely a throwback to real music of the past. A lot of what I've heard from him has a Van Morrison influence. That's definitely a good thing.
just made the same comment 🤠
this was such a great segment... i'm a bigger fan than I already was after this !! :)
My favorite 🖤🔥🤘 Catch him live it's AMAZING
Seeing these guys live is on the bucket list
