You can tell the raw conviction and passion when the "my heart is aching....hands are shaking" comes on. As an alcoholic, I know this man put his blues, heart and soul into this
This song spoke to me in 2016 when I thought I couldn't ever get free of meth. Two years later I finally found the strength. It takes me back to an ugly place in my life. But it also reminds me how far I've come, and how few make it. Makes me cry.
Blessings 🙌 on your recovery! I have a daughter whom is a herion addict. Horrible addiction. I pray that God heals her before it's too late for her. God bless you Mike!
For those of you struggling with alcoholism or other substance addiction, KEEP TRYING, you’ll eventually get clean. Even if you don’t know it, you’ve got people who are hoping for your success. ❤
+Andrew Konsek The Shape I'm In was written by Robbie Robertson of The Band. They were around in the 60's and 70's. Check out the movie, "The Last Waltz".
Incredible live performer. Saw him and his band recently in Edmonton. Perfect blend of soul, blues and rock n' roll. You did "The Band" proud, Nathaniel. This kind of talent is so rare today.
He certainly does! I could watch him and listen to him all day. I absolutely love the horns in this group. I miss the days of brass in music groups. So glad Nathaniel uses them. Pure magic!
@@ethelkorman7892 They have so many great players in the band. Problem is they get paid the same as a solo act or a 3 piece. By the time you split the take each guy gets enough for a decent meal and a bus ride to the hotel at some clubs. This place was packed, I hope they made some decent bread.
Addicted to S.O.B. after Fallon last night. Now I see he covers the Band? Awesome! Can he tour with the Chris Robinson Brotherhood as their opener? That would be great. Thank you for bringing REAL music back to the masses....
Brian Hahne I'd never heard of them before...His sister is a friend of mine and she was saying he was going to be on Fallon...Loved this song...buying the album!!!
I'm in that crowd and visible for a pretty good chunk of time. Hard to believe it's nearly 5 years ago now. But I keep coming back to this video because it's probably my favorite performance of "SOB." I'm so glad it exists.
Wow! You guys have come along way since our days in the vineyards. Little Nate and Joey. Love you, love this!!!!!!!! Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love Peggy
S.O.B. !! What a fun-lovin'-house rockin' jamm!! To be followed by an admiral cover of "The Shape i'm In",,I'll be sure and catch these guys when next they roll thru Indy!!
just heard this on radio uk, it is the most exciting music I have heard for a long time. love it will get the album this music comes from the heart, thank you to a great band, must be great to see them live!
+fortheshire They had been covering that song for six months at that point, and this was two years ago. I think most people were aware of it being a song by The Band.
Fantastic is all I can say when a friend sent need never get old was up all night listening to this great band. Coming to Charlotte In July getting my ticket on Monday ..
I just heard of these guys for the first time last summer when I saw them on the Outlaw Music Festival with Willie Nelson...ONe of the best live bands I've ever seen It was like a Pentecostal revival of blues music.
First it was Magnetic Zeros second album. Then it was this album. and now I know that beautiful music is always out there. It just has a tough time reaching the mainstream. It's like oil and water.
It seems strange to appreciate a song like this. But where there is a will, there is a way! You just have to find the way. Be cool, stay loose and remember; always hang tough.!
A friend turned me onto this. I watched my first movie at the Gothic! 25 cents. The Beatles, Help. My dad worked a few blocks away so me and my two older brothers had a ride home. Son of a Bitch let me buy you a drink!
I find it funny that he changes the lyric of "60 days in the jailhouse," to "sixteen years in the jailhouse". Just what I noticed. They certainly rock out to that song! Killa!
I worked in live TV for 35 years and this is some of the best captured single camera live music I’ve ever seen..
Thanks!! I was the stage manager at this show but filmed at the end ;)
I also work in TV.
@@ThePopShopStudiothanks for capturing this incredible performance for us all to enjoy forever (as long as RUclips doesn’t cancel your account).
@@miguelgabaldon9638 Thanks! Old friend of the band and filmed a lot back then. (no reason for the second part) ;)

Let me know acids can give you freedom from alcohol. And that's the only way.

Kudos for your honesty, and for finding the strength.

One day at a time brother❤️🙏💪
Stay strong Bro
well done hugs
Love this so much. Anyone here old enough to see the Blues' Brothers influence?
If the BB and van Morrison....lol
Nope. Its nothing but “the Band”
God bless the woman in the upper level in the black dress. She was having the time of her life and nothing was going to stop her.
The way music should be enjoyed. In an old dusty music/blues hall. No seats, just drinking dancing and singing.
For those of you struggling with alcoholism or other substance addiction, KEEP TRYING, you’ll eventually get clean. Even if you don’t know it, you’ve got people who are hoping for your success. ❤
The Band is such an incredible group and they really managed to do their song justice. Really great stuff.
God bless you my son , for the song , for the lyrics , for music and dance moves! SOME ONE GIVE HIM A DRINK!

The power of music.
Gives me faith in the American Music Scene, not that it isn't alive and well, but all those young folks digging it.

Out of all the stages I have played on in my musical career, The Gothic has been by far one of the coolest.
I am sad by how many people did not recognize The Band
+fortheshire They had been covering that song for six months at that point, and this was two years ago. I think most people were aware of it being a song by The Band.
+ThePopShopStudio and i Am embarrassed to not have recognized
+fortheshire I'm sad at the dumb chick.. 1st seat in balcony updating her fucken facebook during show
He sang it almost as good as Richard Manuel.
ThePopShopStudio With today's crowd in music I'd be surprised if some of them even can name one of the band's songs
Nice to see people can still play instruments, the brass is lacking in today's music
I can barely play my MP3 player but I know great music when I hear it. SOB these guys hit the mark.
+1 80’s songs with a sax solo!
Fantastic is all I can say when a friend sent need never get old was up all night listening to this great band. Coming to Charlotte In July getting my ticket on Monday ..
James Ostensen, you are 💯% correct. The varied instrumental background instruments are extremely powerful 👍💯🤗
I must see them live!

There IS hope for this generation...........OMG.......are these young guys great or what!
When you wrote this comment Nathaniel was 38 ;D

This guy is channeling Jake Blues.

We are white boys we can't. Ha really
Everything old is new again... Blues, Beebop, Gospel and a little Bluegrass.
+Rich Giroux And I LOVE it. I know everyone says this as they age, but most music these days has gone to shit. This is so refreshing...
And thank God for it! So much good music out there right now.
I would think that Richard Manuel would be proud of their cover of "The Shape I'm In!"
My dad sent me here. I need a drink, these guys are too good.
