It is one thing to miss measurements by a mile another to be only an inch and a half off that must have been extremely frustrating. Ingenuity is a farmer's best friend. Speaking of best friends DeeDee and Brooke have never missed a beat since the moment they met. Little did you know that you needed a tiny four-legged soulmate.
Such an awesome job you both are doing. Instead of panic you both use your heads. Great teamwork!!! I just love Nugget. He loves you and trusts you so much he just falls asleep in your arms. Beautiful. Blessings to you all ❤

Jesse coming into poop made me laugh out loud. It reminded me of my cats. When you scoop the litter they immediately come back to poop in it cuz it's fresh, it's clean
My cats used to race to poop in the clean box!
I had that same comment on their other video- my cats watch me clean and steps in their litter box as soon as I finish up! Every time! Ha ha...

I have 3 cats, and they will actually stand in a line waiting. It hilarious! They also do that with the water bowl lol.

Jason get a hug cat litter sifter and put on handle…..I just checked…they have some big units. Also years ago I use a large screen in a wooden ‘c’ to sift my large bird cage litter……worked great.
I wonder if Jessie would be friends with Nugget ? Now that would be a lovely match . Both of them doing the zoomies then settling down at night for a cuddle together.

It always touches my heart seeing how focused Brooke and Jason are on the well-being of all their animals. Such dedication isn't always easy but it is priceless. They are definitely a loving, caring couple. And terrific people!

@@enigmawrappedinaparadox7361 I’m a talker too and to any animal rly and once I went with my hubby to pick up a part from fb marketplace as it was in a barn, I got out because I seen a cat walking up and I just go hey you been out hunting and the cat meowing back as if he was sayin I sure have and I continue talking to it as it happened to answer back every time and the ol feller goes we have had that cat now going on two yrs and it’s never said anything to them 😳 I go whelp have ya ever tried talking to it 😆 no, no we haven’t didn’t have anything to talk about 😳 well now that’s the problem ya just have to come up with something to talk about 🤣 I got a kick out of that like he did me talking to his cat ♥️
I love it too. I talk to my cats all the time. They talk back . Lol lol especially if I don’t pay attention to them when they want attention. Lol lol
He speaks directly to them so often they all know their names.
15:28 what you can do is get another one of those Mildred/Jesse scoops and wire tie some 1/4" hardware cloth on it. It should easily mold around the scoop. That is what I did when I had goats and I also used it to clean the chicken coop.
Watching you with Nugget just melts my heart. You truly have a way with animals. They just feel so loved and safe with you. God bless all y'all.
Jason, when Nugget's time finally comes hopefully way, way out there in the distant future, you are going to miss him terribly. The bond between you two is something so special it warms my heart every time I see the two of you together.

I love the way y’all handle mistakes. You’re never overly defensive. You take accountability and admit when you did something wrong. There’s no big drama, you just maintain a positive attitude, stay calm and work on a way to solve the problem. And you have no problem reaching out for advice or help. I’ve not even watched the whole video yet but I know y’all will get it taken care of with grace. You’re both models for how I want to handle adversity in life. ❤

I absolutely love Nugget. What a great bird. I remember watching him at old Cog Hill running circles around and around in the mornings and going to the creek with ya'll. Never, ever knew birds could be that loving.

Jason, you broke the man code. And you filmed it…you openly read the directions. It’s OK, no sense messing around with a tool that will save a lot of time and frustration. Great idea for the shovel with holes drilled in it. Wait til winter when Miss Peaches gets a load of a cushioned indoor stall. Love how you talk to your farm animals. I have always talked with our animals throughout my life. It is calming to both you and you animal friends. Great video. It is all coming along.

I think many of us would volunteer to cuddle with Nugget. He seems so loving. 🥰 If that was the only mistake with the fencing, I would say you guys are 99% perfect! You guys have done beyond great with everything.

Topper has naturally retired as a breeding buck with a reduction in hormones it sounds like. I think Jessie is super affectionate from where she was so sick as a foal, and needed the extra care that DeeJay so mercilessly and lovingly smothered her in, and that gave Jessie the fighting power to survive and now she just loves as hard back on her family.
The Cog Hill Farm Family is absolutely an amazing and love smothered blended family of exotic birds and farm animals, with the added benefits of growing produce and flowers!! It's no wonder I'm obsessed with your content!!

Jason, is there ANYWHERE in Alabama that you could locate a metal snow shovel? If you drilled tiny holes in one it would make a good goat poop shovel. They are light weight and would shift sand easily plus the shovel head is broad so it would cover a large area for a quicker cleanup. Have a great week! 😉❤️

There are aluminum scoop shovels with holes at the feed stores.

Instead of drilling holes in your shovel, try cutting narrow slits instead like a cat litter scooper. It will drain the sand better

Great idea for correcting the fence. Nugget is as much a baby as the rest of the animals. When it's time for loving and petting, he gets in the line for it.

Oh my gosh Jessie made me laugh out loud! You two sure work great together. Nugget is so sweet, goin to sleep was the absolute cutest thing I’ve seen! Thanks so much for sharing all these precious times with us.
For a GOAT POOP RAKE we used a rake like you’re using and glued plastic strips across the tines. We cut up a plastic Clorox jug to make the strips. Sand or sawdust would fall through easily but not the goat grapes. Dad made one using same style rake and some wire mesh or hardware cloth. The one we made with the plastic strips actually worked best but make sure you glue the strips on the top of the tines and not the bottom. We glued them on the bottom first and we knocked some off when scooping. So put them on the top side. If you took a large zip tie and laid it across the tines and glued it , it would be easier than cutting up a plastic bottle.

On Brooke's video yesterday when she was talking about the aviary addition, you could see them walking behind her in the chicken part of the pasture. They were cute. I kept seeing them and was going "those are small chickens or ducks." an then i saw their mommas and realized what they were. They are getting their little topknots.

We all make mistakes, but you are very good at trouble shooting any problems that comes up, that is a blessing. My Grandma always said, "Where there's a will, there's a way" and I knew you were going to come up with a way for your Buddy. I'm so excited to see his reaction to his new space, I hope he does some Emu runs like he used to do when he was younger. They crack me up when they do that! Houston Arms Emu, Charlie is in that stage now and I laugh every time, it never gets old. I'm 70 and I wouldn't be able to keep up with an Emu, so I'm glad that I can enjoy them on RUclips and now Jake Morrow has one! The more Emus, the better! Nugget was the first Emu to show me that they are so special and I'm really fond of Charlie too, he reminds me so much of Nugget.
Ms Kathy there is one I don't remember her page But she has a mean female one. and I mean MEAN. She makes Videos of it attacking her. But she has it down pat how to handle her. Jason has talked about her a time or two. That one is Crazy to watch.. But Our Loving Nugget is The Best All around..
