    Great video! Portable kits like this are so important now days especially with clients expectations for quick interviews and minimal disruption.
    Getting kit into a central London location can be a nightmare so I’m always trying to keep it to a light kit I can carry on the tube.
    Umbrellas are also a great quick lightweight option for getting a soft image. Saves a lightstand too!

      Exactly the kind of situation we built this kit for!
      Yes, you could easily put an umbrella or two in the tripod bag. However the Halo Compact will be bigger and therefore softer, plus take up less room. It takes longer to set up though.

    The quick setup and portability of the new Aputure Light Dome III models have really mooted the diffusion promoted in this video. The extra circumference simply isn't being utilized, anywise.

      I love the look of the new Light Dome III. But it doesn't do the same thing we were doing here. This was all about finding the diffusion that was the largest when set up and the smallest when collapsed down to keep things as portable as possible.

    How about fan noise from this new ifootage 130w cob light compare to apurture 120 mark ii or nanlite lights?

      Very well. We haven't noticed any problems with fan noise.

    Great form factor, but be better if at least one of the lights was at least 200w, they are nowhere near strong enough for any job where a window with natural light is involved.

    • @carlyates2487
      @carlyates2487 Год назад +3

      If you are really trying to balance to exterior light fro a window, even 200W often won't be enough once you diffuse it. Thats one of the main reasons people end up with big 600D's etc.

    • @bobsteinfinkel
      @bobsteinfinkel Год назад

      @@carlyates2487 for sure, they are not ideal with windows but with a 200w light at least you can begin to make a difference and get some flexibility. So it would be nicer to have that option.
