In the end, I have also added some dishes with egg (Mostly sweets )
Below is the list of places, I dined at
Tokyo

Taiyo no Tomato men - Cheese Ramen
Farmer's Kitchen - local Japanese Food
Bento Box bought from Shinjuku station.
Hotel Hakuba - Japanese Breakfast and Dinner (Buffet)
Osaka
Maharaja - Indian food
Kyoto
Mimikou - Udon
Machiya - Okonomiyaki
Nara
Takomi - Okonomiyaki

It's my dream to go to Japan and now that I have found veg food, I feel really relived as I'm a vegetarian.
Shard Shrama I am so glad about that and there are so many more options that I may have not covered too. It’s just that you need patience to find out the things and a little knowledge of what you can actually eat or what can be made vegetarian 😀 really wish that you get to go to Japan soon! It’s a country like no other 🙏
@@Littlethingswedo thanks for the motivation!
@@jayanthikrishnan2000 I love BTS!!!💜💜💜💜
Me too bro😃
bro i am thinking of going to japan after corona virus but im all alone so if you want to go then we can go together
Needed this video coz my bf and I planning to visit Japan and he’s vegetarian! Thank you
sajcupcake pleasure!!! Also try for Buddhist places or temples where they usually serve vegetarian food!!! Hope you have a wonderful trip and I am glad you found it useful
How was ur trip bruh??
I m literally in love with japan...now I can fearlessly go to Japan one day for sure❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
You would love it I am so sure! Japan is a beautiful country. Plan around cherry blossom or fall season and be ready to get swayed 🥰🥰 for any help - ask me away
I also unknowingly feel scared about eating beef abroad so I eat vegetarian, I liked your video very much.
Thankyou so much. Yes the fear is always there but having said that you can definitely download the app like happy cow for the vegan restaurants and secondly read about the vegetarian food culture of the place - it does really help. Like I discovered that mochi and dangos are made with only rice so no worry on that and bento boxes have clear ingredients list written behind so it was also safe. Japan’s food even when you can’t try all of it - and have to settle with only a few things is really good
Now I'm 17 & planning to visit Japan as soon as I can ! 😅
You would love it ❤️ it’s an amazing country. Good luck Ratul
because of anime right😏😏😏
Okonomiyaki and Tempura batters are usually made from flour and eggs. Okonomiyaki/ Ramen might be topped with Narutomaki, which is made from white fish paste. Also, sauces accompanying food may have fish/oyster/meat sauces in them.
For those who are strictly vegetarian, ask the chef to skip everything from eggs to fish or search for indian/vegan options when in Japan.
Arent buddhists supposed to be non violent? I missed something, i guess. Seems like they eat a lot of non vegetarian food.
@@sheetalverma8940 People in Japan are not that religious. Some follow buddhism, some follow shintō. The prime source of food is sea food! Not all buddhist are vegetarians!
Naan in Japan has eggs
Flour and eggs are vegetarian. Most people I feel have realistic limits to their diet. For example, I would consider a little meat sauce on my food minimal since at even American restaurants everything you consume is cooked in beef oil.
@@goeticfolklore not from Indian standpoint --> religious reason for hindos (and sikhs to some extent). It's not your responsibility to tell another culture what is right or wrong.

@@Littlethingswedo It's a pleasure beautiful! Subscribed to your channel as well. 😊😁
If you’re in any tourist area it’s pretty easy to find. If you’re in rural areas I’d say go for temple dishes as your only real reliable option.
Another tip is to look for Shojin Ryori, Japanese temple food. There are some amazing vegan dishes/meals I stumbled on asking around for shojin ryori cuisine. I want to go back to Japan so bad haha.
That’s a really good tip. Thankyou so much. I will keep this in mind when next time I travel to Japan (hopefully soon)

Great video, made me hungry
Awwie! Thanks a bunch mate
My partner is vegetarian and I am not - I eat seafood and chicken. We cook only vegetarian at home and I love it, so much more than when I used to cook with meat. Anyone who thinks eating vegetarian is boring or can't sustain then is incredibly ignorant. Its so much easier to cook vegetarian and encourages you to find new and interesting recipes all the time. My skills at cooking, my knowledge and understanding of food has expanded so much since I started cooking vegetarian. If we go out and I eat not-vegetarian its a total treat and that's a nice positive to it also. We love love Japanese food and it usually caters to vegetarians here so we can't eat it whenever we want, but I've always worried/thought that may not be the case in actual Japan. We've been wanting to travel there, but I was worried my partner would not be able to find much vegetarian food to eat! its an issue we had while travelling in Europe, funnily enough though we found wherever we were if we could find a Japanese restaurant we could find vegetarian food. Watching this video has given me hope that yes she will be able to find good food to eat when we eventually go to Japan, thank you!!
I had the same worries before travelling to Japan but I was happy to have found enough to sustain my travel of two weeks. A little bit of research before travelling to a place like this is essentially helpful. It can actually help you to survive and find new avenues. Your girlfriend would find many interesting dishes in Japan and I am sure you guys would absolutely love Japan. Its indeed one of the most unique and beautiful places in the world. And yes, vegetarian food has many many many varieties and you can never get bored of trying new things :)
Loved the video! Want to try these some day!
thanks a lot for watching :) Japan's food is amazing indeed
The mochi at 3:20 has a little yellow powder on it called kinako , roasted soy flour, very delicious and also vegan!

Vidya Krishnan hey, Thanks for watching and commenting. Means a lot 🙌🏻
Thank you for these suggestions!
May I ask if one is visiting Japan for the first time, what places/cities would you recommend?
It really depends on the kind of vibe you are looking for! For the first timers - it would definitely be Kyoto and Tokyo coupled with a few day trips or overnight trips! How many days are you planning?
@@Littlethingswedo Thank you for your reply.
I am planning for 10 days' trip.
@@akritiishere Japan has two most beautiful seasons - cherry blossom 🌸 and autumn 🍂 if you are going for that then your itinerary would be entirely different and otherwise it would be different. Keep Kyoto and Tokyo and may be two overnight trips to places like Kawaguchiko and hakone
@@Littlethingswedo Thank you for your quick responses!
I will surely add all these tips in mind and the foods you mentioned in my list to eat.
Wishing you a wonderful day ahead.

Nice video madam . so nice vegetarian food also available in Japan
Yes, it’s very much available 😊 Thankyou so much for watching
I am hungry now!😍
haha!!! Come to HK
I wishhhhh!😍
Bring ramen noodles for me pakka sy!!😁
Pretty sure okonomiyaki has dashi in the batter! Also, it is more like a pancake rather than a pizza. Not vegetarian for sure. Also, as you mentioned both Ramen and Udon noodle soups tend to have copious amounts of dashi in them. If the restaurant owner says that the soup is vegetarian, it just means that they think that dashi is vegetarian. All sweet items are fine luckily. Also, if you are famished look for a Crepe shop or Italian cuisine restaurant. You can also eat Vegetarian/Vegan hot-pot, though this is harder to find. In the ryokan I stayed in, they did offer yummy vegetarian hot pot. Onigiri and Daango are fine. The greater difficulty comes when you go to interiors of Japan.
@@AnkhArcRod I am pretty sure that I made them understand what vegetarian food I want and specified every possible meat to make sure that it’s not used. Same for Ramen and udon. I made sure that no meat is used. Totally depends on the place you try and if they are understanding what you are saying 😃
very informative video! Thank you
So glad you found it useful 😃
I am going to eat everything from this video and more! Haha ...which hotel is this in front of which u had Indian btw...in kawaguchi? Might have to fetch that one for Akhil when we are there 😛
FrooGal Fun haha!!! Done done 😀 the hotel name is Resort inn Fujihashi. Cute ryokan style rooms too 😀 also pls check out farmers kitchen in Tokyo - they have enough veg and non veg food options too and their food is divine!!!

Lol! True that 😀
@@Littlethingswedo Here in US, there's no vegetarian American food as such, but I do get to eat vegetarian Indian, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Mexican, Italian, sandwich, and pizza. Vegetarian options depend on where you are located but one can get by in the big cities and do pretty well if one is ready to drive far for food.
@@ParagPandit I agree to that! In some countries especially Asian - like Japan and Taiwan, I experienced that to have veg food you really need to put an effort! If you are ok to do that - you will get veg food!
Didi will I get veg food without onion and garlic in japan
Yes you will. Write down all the instructions from this video and read about the food in Japan. If you don’t want to eat Japanese food there are also many Indian restaurants. So don’t worry about it at all. Just go with open mind and a lil knowledge 🥰
Okoni the second dish was made just on the table where they made nkn veg food just beside veg dish .
You can ask them to wipe it clean and if they understand they would do! That’s why going to places or having an app to translate comes handy! Also, just because it’s made in front we have got to know - don’t know what happen in the closed kitchens when we order the veg food isn’t ?
When she said mochi jimin immediately came in my mind
Haha

This was really nice now i can think of going to japan.
I am not a vegan but eat saatvik food. Japanese dont really seem to have a lot of milk food items like we have, thats alright i will take my personal curd and can drink milk separately there.
Vegan seems delicious, japanese culture is very foreign to me but these vegan versions of them would be enough to make me taste real japanese food.
I always wanted to try ramen the one which is made in japan, by the japanese with raw japanese products and not the top ramen that we get in india.
Though i dont like miso much, it tasted sour but i will manage. I always wanted to visit japan once.
Yaayyyy!!! I will add japan to my tourism list now. Thank god they have such options for indian tourists like me.❣️❣️❣️😋😋😋 i am really gonna try this mochi/moshi thing. It looks very delicious.
You know as the whole world is turning into vegan and vegetarian, most of the Asian countries like Japan & Hongkong are also adapting! ‘The happy cow’ app can actually guide you to some of the vegetarian restaurants and even Japanese vegetarian restaurants! Some things like mochi and Dangos are easily available road side too - that can be eaten without worrying for sure and then the Indian restaurants are never too far! Infact the bento box was also my absolute fav! Japan is a country like no other - trains, people, culture, temples are just out worldly and I am sure you would have a fantastic time there! Write to me if you need any help in planning 🙌🏻
do japnese also come there for trying indian dishes
Oh yes! Japanese people love Indian food a lot. They most favourite items are naans - curry and mango shake
I like only vegetarian. Ia a South Indian Brahmin. Excellent post.
Wow! That’s amazing. At my parents home we don’t eat or get onion and garlic
@@Littlethingswedo That’s great. We too don’t eat Garlic or Mushrooms. We eat only Eggless Cake. I am a S.Indian orthodox Brahmin in Bangalore.
Do we get Jain food there too? I don’t eat onion, ginger, garlic, potatoes or rooted vegetables.
It means we Indians can survive in Japan and if we want to settle there we can settle very comfortably right😊
Once you figure out what and where - it will be comfortable for sure! Plus, when you are in a country for a longer period, you can plan things way in advance 😄 to top it all - there are Indian restaurants everywhere
Nice video
It's there any restaurent in Tokyo that specify have this food dishes make as vegan not like ready made given and think like it's vegan but not actually it is.
Hey for the specific restaurants you can try happy cow app - that would help you a lot for vegan and vegetarian places once you are in Japan
Thanks I thought channel has no upload for a long time so I didn't thought of reply . Thanks again
