@@jzbuff86 Sorry for the late reply I think you should stay at the hotel. Actually many Japanese people can’t speak English ,so if you were lost, many people wouldn’t be able to help you navigate. For first time visitors to Tokyo: JR commuter trains are easier to understand than the subway. If you have a Japan Rail Pass, it is accepted on these trains. There are two subway systems with separate fares. Some friends of mine bought a day pass for Tokyo Metro and found out the hard way that it wasn't good on the Toei lines. JR's Yamanote loop line is the most useful. It serves almost all the major business districts and if you miss your stop, you can stay on the train until it comes around again (it takes about an hour to go all the way around). Other useful JR lines are the Chuo, Keihin-Kyuko and Sobu.

I really recommend figuring out something for internet, as number 2 said! Japan is getting better about it, but wifi is not available in a lot of public places, especially if you don't have a phone with one of Japan's 3 major carriers. Also, don't count on being able to charge your phone while you sit in a cafe, as there often aren't outlets available for public use (including at the airport). All useful advice, informed my planning. On JR Pass - I would suggest booking your shinkansen seats when you pick up the JR Pass at the airport (assuming you have planned your journeys). Also got a visitor IC pass from the same place (no 'deposit', so no need to return at end of journey). Note the IC card works outside of tokyo inc. kyoto. There is an train time app that shows what routes you can use your JR pass on, to maximise it's use - much more than shinkansen inc. Miyajima Ferry! For mobile data - you can pre book a mobile wifi router. Like a powerbank, but you connect to highspeed data (multiple devices) - just remember to drop off before you go through checkin at the airport!! Yes use luggage lockers at stations, but on the bigger stations really take note of where the lockers are as they can all look the same!
Thanks for this video, I can not stress how helpful having the pocket WIFI was when we were travelling in Japan. The Train stations were so large and had so many exits it was required to have Google Maps to know which exit and which level we needed to exit the station to get to our onward destination. I know a friend who went to Japan and did not have any data or WIFI and said they were constantly getting lost! 🙏🏼 Also thank you for sharing about the suitcases on the Shinkansen, It really helped us to know what to ask the staff for when reserving a seat.

I lived in Japan for 4 years. I really miss it.

I miss my country
Lucky you!!
Japan is beautiful , safe and clean
I loved Japan! Hope to go back sometime soon 😍
Please come by all means☺️
Finally able to go to japan this august and I'm so excited. thank you for these tips!
Good video, reminds me of my time living in Japan.. Really enjoyed this
Amazing I love Japan because people in japan they are super polite and super friendly
Thank you for your nice comment! Glad to hear the video was useful for your trip!
i want to work in japan ! its my dream ! 😭❤️
