Good overview of your set up, thanks! I'm pretty new to motovlogging and have been doing a lot of similar experiments.
I use a similar set up to this and also prefer the ultra wide view. I have tried to use a lav mic, but given up as I found it so much easier just to glue a cold-shoe mount inside my chin bar, which the clip on the Mic2 then just slides into. That also means I can use the set up in the rain (we get a lot of that here in the UK) with no problem. I have the dead cat fitted, gain set to -12dB and noise reduction off (like you said, I prefer the sound with it turned off and also have the low pass filter turned off too).
I'm also experimenting with having the "Audio to video sync" turned on in the camera, so the mic automatically records internally as well as to the camera which can be a useful backup incase things go pear shaped, especially if using the 32 bit float recording setting. Good luck with your future motovlogs 😁
Great to see you back on the Bike Bryan !
You and me both!
Love the bike gears sound again
Perfect timing! Thank you as I’ve also had it with GoPro. 👍👍
Glad it helped!
Love the videos, great to see you back riding again!
Glad you like them!
Love the new gear! i am glad your back.
Thank you!
I’ve been running a similar setup. I put the whole microphone inside the helmet and glued the magnet and use the dead cat it comes with. Clip and go. With the audio receiver clipped to the camera I can dual motovlog with my wife.
That would be my first choice too! But the helmet has no room. As it is even the boom mic hit my lip
Agree with your settings but I think wide not ultra wide looks better, it’s a brilliant set up for moto vlogging…
I have been using the Action 4 and the Mic 2 for a while now. Been keeping the Mic 2 inside my helmet with the fuzzy cap on. I can not seem to get rid of excessive wind noise. Going to try the DJi Lavalier mic attached and with fuzz inside the helmet and see how that goes.
This setup is perfect
FYI....Your Mic Link takes you to USB port covers
You must have clicked the wrong link. Works fine
👍👍
Do you have to mount the receiver to your helmet? Can you just have it in a pocket or something?
Transmitter not receiver. Sure you can put it anywhere you like. People with bigger helmets even stick it inside somewhere.
