But appreciated by a few
This is really good. Couldn't find many history vids on Winsor.
I wonder a lot about what motivated someone like McKay to keep producing. I never really figured it out, but I think a lot about his brother Arthur who spent most of his life in a mental institution - he probably had an imagination as weird, or weirder than Winsor's, but didn't have either the talent or control to get those bizarre thoughts down on paper in some form. So if you're lucky enough to have that ability you're very lucky indeed.
I think this channel would be huge if there wernt algorithms
I did a report on him when I was younger. It was very hard to research and my teacher said I might need to change my pick.

When we were kids, we'd take an ordinary white note pad and make animated flip books. The result was actually quite convincing. Try it some time, it works, and then YOU TOO can be an animator, though no one will make videos about you.
But the amount of work to make a full animation is huge, even with the help of modern tools.

Yikes! He drew some really racist stuff... Granted, it's a product of its time, and it's over 100 years old. But he made a significant contribution to animation. So it's history. And history is meant to be uncomfortable at times.
Exactly!! Thank you! Its like Lin Manuel says: you have to look at all of history, which is why i try not to leave out the racist stuff:)
By the way... I don't want you to put any sensitive information on here, but if you have a Venmo or PayPal, I'd gladly donate. I don't like signing up to websites, but I'd gladly make an occasional one-off donation to support your work. @@Dizographies
Sorry I didn't see this, I'm going through comments for my correction video at the end of the year. I do have a PayPal you could donate to if you would like. If you email me at Dizographies@gmail.com i can give you more info. Either way Thank you very much for watching and commenting! Its nice to connect with people who are as interested in this stuff as I am :D
