I live in ny state, which has the highest number of cases in America. Hopefully i can continue running outside alone, but im afraid that may be banned by the governor
Same for me. I’m from Colombia, but I’m not stopping tho, I’m doing jump rope, burpees and other exercises. If anything the boredom is making me do more exercise than before. Keep Positive!
I’m in ny and it’s pretty scary here but I think this video will give me the motivation to run again and get back to building base for cross country next year
This whole quarantine thing has really given me a lot of free-time because school is cancelled for a while, so I'm using it to rebuild my base. Stay strong y'all!
Nice to see Eluid still train motivates me too to keep running I almost wanted to stop but I must push through it's hard not running without your teammates
I was supposed to be running my first full marathon this weekend, and instead I've resorted to doing my own little time trial. This situation has really been hard for runners all over the world
I've been mostly running alone for quite a long time. I only run in groups in order to see my progress against other people. According to my work schedule. Thats how I train. Nothing wrong training alone.
Despite of these difficult days that everything is closed, I get up before 6 o'clock, run 100km per week and look forward to the Marathon later this year.
In his recent chat with Bekele, he mentioned that he is doing enough training to "stay healthy" but not really good enough for competition. Then Bekele said it is the same thing in Ethiopia (lockdowns).
We can't go outside in Paraguay, is the right thing to do, even if that hurts my running. Have been doing strength training and HIIT, at least I'm trying to stay active.
For those who do not know this, Olympian gold medalist Kipchoge Keino saw young kids around 4 n 5 yrs of age on streets w no parents. He built huts for somewhere near 60 kids n just took them in to care with he n wife He and Jim Ryun were competitors...and both quite humble but fantastic unique talents
I know how all these runners feel my goal this year was to make states for mile and 2 mile and ive been running all winter even when it was 20 degrees icy and snowy we can't have practice till at least the 13th of april and the season will probably get canceled which sucks I still continue to run daily and if the season does get canceled I will do time trials on days we where supposed to have meets im lucky to be only a 10th grader and im sorry to all seniors who can't run track this year everyone out there stay healthy and in shape.
Extra: today I finished a 8k on the top of the building, just to see a 70yo guy running in the street. "am I a joke to you?". In my state in Brazil inst mandatory to stay home yet.
As much as I wanted to give this a thumbs down I didn't. And that's because Total Running Productions always does a great job capturing the essence of Eliud Kipchoge, a man of incredible virtue and universal values. He has literally inspired me to run again, passionately, after decades. That being said, I'm furious the Olympics are cancelled, they will use celebrities as pawns now in this drama and I absolutely do not buy the extreme "crisis" hype which is not born out by the World Health Organization's own data. 30,000 people have died in the U.S. alone this year from common influenza. 300 from the coronavirus, listed in the American Medical Association's 'Encyclopedia of Medicine' as the 'common cold'. I know, I know, you will say, but covid19 is different! The low mortality rate, and mostly the elderly with pre-existing conditions would not normally elicit a "global crisis". The projected mortality rate is called 'lying with statistics' to suit an ideological agenda. Again, over 30,000 people have died this year just in the U.S. alone from common influenza but nobody is going to shut down the Olympics for that. The official narrative does NOT add up.
I am spanish, and here in Spain the situation is critical and it keeps getting worse every day. This is not like a 'common cold'. Common colds dont collapse hospital, common colds dont need to build military medical centers (search 'ifema 2020' on google and you will see) and a common cold have never caused doctors to decide giving a ventilator to a younger patient and leaving the older one without one (due to lack of equipment). And yes, in younger population it is not so dangerous. But in elderly population it is, are you seriously going to leave your elder generation suffer and die to coronavirus just so you can have fun watching de Olympics? Really? Those who struggle with much more difficult times than us, are you seriously saying that you dont care for them? Please, take CoVid-19 seriously. It is NOT a common cold.
I think it depends on what Bekele will choose to run Berlin is a faster run course than London If Bekele chooses Berlin so will Kipchoge That is if things get back to normal soon
Jos Hermens, director of Global Sports, has confirmed on Dutch radio that Kipchoge and Bekele will run the London marathon in October as he has already signed the contract for London and not yet for Berlin. Usually, they sign for Berlin after the marathon in London. On this website: nos.nl/artikel/2328030-oktober-barst-uit-voegen-met-twintig-marathons-niveau-wordt-lager.html, on the sound clip in the second paragraph, from 2 minutes and 20 seconds, he mentions it: "So for example, the London marathon, which is the largest marathon, is postponed to October 4th. The athletes who have singed for that, our two best known; Eliud Kipchoge and Kenenisa Bekele, who are the two fastest marathon runners ever, had singed up for London in the spring and will there in fall."
He is training alone...gee in my era most Americans trained alone I was lucky once, in that for 2 or 3 years I could train w one guy faster than me..so I was lucky. He might actually train faster n harder...some months of very very slow jogging will help build capillary beads supposedly Maybe his wife can ride a bike next to him But he doesn't need pacers or blue lines to break two hours because he is a serious RUNNER
Bruh when I hear he goes on runs NON TEMPO runs might I add and he’s clocking faster than 6 minute miles im sitting back like damn 6 minute miles is my current race pace give or take. That’s insane man and I’m only doing ideally around 50 miles a week if all goes as planned
This just gives them more time to train no? Plus any injured or currently rehabbing athletes can have more recovery time. No one can make any excuses now
Wow so sad for Kipchoge, having to run somewhere different must be SUCH a big problem. Swimmers that can't access a swimming hall got nothing on him... Nah, RUNNING has to be the most effected by lockdowns.
100 miles per week?!? I’m proud of myself getting 30 miles a week during this time. It’s so hard to go out for a run when all parks, tracks, gyms, are closed. And running around my neighborhood is not enjoyable at all
2023 now we discovered masks barely protect from covid,, and to get it you have to be in proximity to someone with it for a duration usually in enclosed areas, like care facilities or rooms w no moving air.. Running outdoors in groups will not give you covid.
Eluid is a very humble man I love his attitude he has help me push threw my hardest times including now
@W Sjr so true it really pumps me up
The editing in this video really deserves Kudos.
agree
Like... on strava?
"he's just chillin with his animals" - favorite quote
I am Spanish and here, in my country, we can't go outside even for running.... due to the quarantine, miss running so much
Man that's rough. Hang in there. Hopefully this all blows over soon.
Get a treadmill if u can, it's better than nothing

I'm going to think about eliud hanging out with his animals at his farm when im sad

You can run with a mask on as long as it has that little exhaust valve to it
@@mikeyKnows_ but a normal mask doesn't really block anything
It only prevents you from spreading it to others and touching ur face
@ShutterDe DON what I mean is if you get one of the cheap masks that everyone gets, they let more than 95% of germs through

yet another great video by total running productions!
Look at him go, so graceful.
Corona might harm us humans , so why is Kipchoge self isolating ?
Drissi Mohammed I get it 👏 😆 👏

I think it affects 🐐s too
Drissi Mohammed lol

those running trails are beautiful... nothing as wonderful as running on that type of earth. and at altitude too!
I want to be disciplined as much as this guy. Great inspiration.
This whole quarantine thing has really given me a lot of free-time because school is cancelled for a while, so I'm using it to rebuild my base. Stay strong y'all!

I could watch milion videos about this guy. Of course with like on all of them
I really hope Kipchoge watches these videos!

Very smooth running motion. I barely see any side to side movement. His form barely breaks, even after 35km.
I hope they don't end up delaying or canceling the Berlin marathon. That would be the ideal race for Kipchoge vs Bekele.
We are all one team
