The biggest problem I have with this game is when the patches renders my game saves useless for no apparent reason or outright deletes them, flushing several hours of gameplay down the shitter. That and the need for a connection to a server in *OFFLINE MODE.* Other than that, I wish it had more stuff to unlock past level 15. The relying on the heavy missile batteries to get anywhere is getting a bit old.
Ditto. I get the appeal, but I'll stick with social networks for electronic social interactions. I'll either play local multiplayer, online multiplayer specifically with my friends, or stick with single player. I don't want to have to always be "on" in order to play video games. Sometimes I just want to sit back and chill.
I don't mind "always online" what I do mind is "multi-player requirement" there is a difference. Diablo 3 for example is a "always online" game. You need to have internet to play it. But you can still play singleplayer. But it'll still require internet. Get my point?
Just play the first part. I don't mind grinding in a game like this. And I certainly do not give a shit why I fly all those missions. But like I said - try out the prequel because it has far less of what you don't like about this part.
I played through the entire game , you guys make it sound really hard but I didn't find it that hard. Only a few missions that had to be restarted a few times and most of those were bosses.
MocnyBrowarek Did you just say god forbit? rofl. NO NO NO. God twobit! Ya, James is bad at games. Mike is pretty good though. He beat punch out. I bet you can't beat punch out
Agreed. I play a lot of shooters and there are some shooters that are just Asteroids... with a grind mechanic. 50 levels of grind. They say levels like its different. Also River City Ransom was about the grind too. I can't stand it as an adult.
Yeah, back in the day games were grindy too. God, I remember days of summer afternoon's in high school being eaten trying to get my levels up on games like Final Fantasy VII. As an adult I don't have that kind of time, nor drive to play that style of game.
OrdoMallius Yeah I wish I was young so I could invest the time, but then again I have far too many games to ever play them all. Not that its bragging, but there are just so many games getting churned out now that anyone can do it and they're only getting cheaper over time. Even AAA PC games get to be $5 soon enough.
Mike clearly missed out on most of the best games in the past 5 years because I played this and even if they fixed the pacing there is no way it'd be one of the best games in the past 5 years like he said
absolutely. and not even if you don't consider AAA games, in the last five year we had so much great games that this statement of mike makes one really wonder if he's even competent about the recent video game market.
Do Mike and Ryan not understand how PC gaming works, especially indies? Game never get "fixed" they're either good or they aren't. The only things that sometimes get fixed are game breaking bugs and even that's rare.
I think they just want it nerfed a bit for play-abilities sake. Giving enemies less health value or weapon power is a subtle change that might help the game capture the demo that doesn't like the long grind while still fun. People like to have to use strategy, not endless grinding.
If you can't accept positive criticism and advice to further your self and make more $.... you're in the wrong business... Your kind of attitude was killed off after the Atari 2600 days. Unless you can't learn from others who failed to move forward...
You know there is a game called Spacerun ... without the "Galaxy", that is exactly what you are talking about, just run one mission after the other, no multiplayer nonsense and just play the missions. I stopped playing that half way through because it got too hard for me as well, but hey ;P
This was just released. "We're pleased to release a fifth update for Space Run Galaxy! Your feedback have been really helpful so far. Please keep them coming on this new version! Here is the patch log for the version 1.0.5: Global BalanceIn order to smooth the overall progression, we adjusted some rewards and restrictions in the game. This should lead to an overall less grindy and more pleasant experience, especially at the beginning of the game. Story missions now always offer an additional Space Credits bonus to their rewards. Space Credits are very versatile and can help to buy some missing resources, or new ships. Some mechanics now have more categories available, especially the basic one (Yellow). Because they require multiple types of resources, yellow modules are already difficult to craft and extra cells are often critical to get. This should help to craft these modules more frequently, especially when combined whith the first balance point."
also make sure you have a decent amount of magic of course. i forget how many i normally have when i got to death mountain but the magic meter for health is normally set at 50 when i go there.
You guys should check out Defenders Quest on steam... It feels like a basic tower defence, but the way it's handled, the story, the humor, the way your units upgrade... It just makes for a super engaging tower defense game that has you constantly pushing onward to get stronger and better, even after running through the game once.
are you guys going to do a show about the new nes classic that is being released in nov?, i am so exited about and have a feeling james will be looking forward to it too. keep up the good work, have been a fan since the old skool 2007.
did hou guys play the originL? lots of people who did liked it but I think thr main critifism was it had little replay value.... and it wasnt grindy so you should try that one
guys i need help, im searching a game almost 16 years and i never found it , about a wizar which creates ice cubes and he is pursued by small flames and he create those ice for scape the level....maybe someone remember the name....thanks
Best tower defense game I've ever played was Sol Survivor. It's a few years old now, but the gameplay is active and unique. Has multiplayer too! I've put in around 500 hours on Steam for it.
Zed Ah Galaxy. My bad. I never even noticed. Looked like the same art. If only they called it Space Run 2. Makes me think Space Run Galaxy is their way of saying "deluxe edition."
+Cinemassacre Ya'll check out FTL: Faster Than Light on Steam, I think you'd like it. It divides your attention between your ship and the enemy ships, forces you to pay attention to the actual story and make good decisions, and has fun, distinct ships to play as along with lots of different alien species with unique traits. Play on Easy mode, that game is tough as hell.
These types of videos typically bore me but you guys always seem like you are being totally honest with what you like and dislike about this games instead of being ass kissing weasels like a lot of other youtubers that talk or review games. Keep up the good work, fellas. It definitely educates me on these games and if I ever decide if I want to bother putting time into them.
Although completely different, they should look at one of my all time favorites: Kerbal Space Program. They may have a problem with KPS's "difficulty", but they seem geek enough for it.
I haven't played galaxy but the original space run wan pretty fun. Difficulty did start getting ridiculous late in the game and some of the levels were just about knowing what the gimmick is rather than strategically reacting to an unfolding situation. Sounds like galaxy is quite a lot like ts progenitor, but with some I'll advised additions to fit the expectations of the current random-unlock-progression trend.
review the Darkest Dundeon, it teaches you to make the best of a bad situation, stacks the deck against you, and almost forces you to read a walkthrough just to be able to play the game
As someone who really hates the genre of Tower Defense as it often uncreative and overly repetitive, you can take my word on the few recommendations I make. Space Run is one of those games I really liked, probably because it does not even feel that much like a tower defense game. The same goes Dungeon of the Endless, which has so many elements that you might not even notice it is a tower defense until almost through. Great, more classical examples are Kingdom Rush and Gemcraft.
wait u guys have vinesauce in awesome channels, can u guys put vargskeletor (idk if I spelled that right) he's part of vinesauce and is a big retro freak
The Game of the Year Edition has 20 achievements, access to the Zombatar (decorative only) mode and new in-game music which cannot be found in the original version. This can be downloaded on the official soundtrack. The Dancing Zombie which resembled Michael Jackson has also been replaced by the new Disco Zombie. The Backup Dancers have also been replaced. Zomboni's almanac entry has been changed.
my loacal drama class was in town to see a play and i see one called the XXX plays sounded sexy so i checked it out ...........it turned out to be 30 plays
Haven't played the sequal but it sounds like it suffers from the same issues as the previous space run game which quickly became ridiculously tedious and difficult
This review was almost schizophrenic. "It's a burden," "awesome," "kill me now," "best game of the last five years"... Sounds like this game had some really cool ideas but then it tripped at the finish line. And broke both legs. And crushed a spectator.
this isn't my type of game but that's ok. i also think it's funny that Mike always complains how easy games are but than for this game he bitches about how hard it gets it just makes me laugh that's all. also Mike for Zelda 2 do what i do when you play it next time. i believe the term is farming i don't normally use those terms so my apologies if i got it wrong. next time you got play it before you go to death mountain to get the Hammer i think it is. the area is quite easy to get around if do this. go there when you your sword is at 3 and of course i think you get an extension on your life bar. well it's so much easier spending a shit ton of time waiting until it's to like i said 3 and than when you know the path like i know it by heart like i'm sure you do you will get through it faster never go through it when it's set at 2. that's how i do it anyways i do this right before i go to the 2nd Level because some of the guys in that need a stronger hit as you know. and this comes from a guy who actually never has even beat the game. if you get it for gameboy advance if you want it to be even harder man. they i think shorten the steps or whatever the hell those things are called when you fight the dragon in i forget the level. so i've been unable to beat it on that but i haven't played my NES in a long time to try to see if i can beat it on that. sorry for going off topic but you talking about Zelda is what got me thinking about that.
wtf. best game of five years? really? it is just a little strategy game. I played it myself and it was fun but do not praise it like it is the best game on the market lol.
they should play FTL.
Mike and Ryan should play FTL: Faster Than Light
Hell ya, so so good!
Yeah if they liked this game I'm sure they'd like FTL
They definitely need to talk about FTL.
Mike &Ryan should play bums &willy's with each other
I have around 100 hours in FTL soooo....
Totaly agree, awesome game!
The biggest problem I have with this game is when the patches renders my game saves useless for no apparent reason or outright deletes them, flushing several hours of gameplay down the shitter. That and the need for a connection to a server in *OFFLINE MODE.*
Other than that, I wish it had more stuff to unlock past level 15. The relying on the heavy missile batteries to get anywhere is getting a bit old.
Wow that's really horrible. I'm not sure I'll ever play it now.
"multi-player requirement"
And dropped.
Ditto. I get the appeal, but I'll stick with social networks for electronic social interactions. I'll either play local multiplayer, online multiplayer specifically with my friends, or stick with single player. I don't want to have to always be "on" in order to play video games. you can play offline McBeardydouche
Just play the first part. I don't mind grinding in a game like this. And I certainly do not give a shit why I fly all those missions. But like I said - try out the prequel because it has far less of what you don't like about this part.

clearly if some random internet douche with a smiley avatar says it - it must be true.
MocnyBrowarek Did you just say god forbit? rofl. NO NO NO. God twobit!
Ya, James is bad at games. Mike is pretty good though. He beat punch out. I bet you can't beat punch out
I guess you know this already. But Defense Grid is an awesome tower defense for PC.
Grind in modern games is getting ridiculous.
As an adult I don't have that kind of time, nor drive to play that style of game.
sinclair fourthousand
To be fair RPGs are about the grind and it has gotten better over time. Yet every other genre has added a grind.
It was not a problem when a few games had grind but nowdays EVERY game has grind. You just don't have enough time to get all you can from a game.
OrdoMallius
Yeah I wish I was young so I could invest the time, but then again I have far too many games to ever play them all. Not that its bragging, but there are just so many games getting churned out now that anyone can do it and they're only getting cheaper over time. Even AAA PC games get to be $5 soon enough.
They should add a difficulty option. Maybe the grindy thing can be on hard mode or something?
Mike clearly missed out on most of the best games in the past 5 years because I played this and even if they fixed the pacing there is no way it'd be one of the best games in the past 5 years like he said
absolutely. and not even if you don't consider AAA games, in the last five year we had so much great games that this statement of mike makes one really wonder if he's even competent about the recent video game market.
maybe hes just excited or somthing.
One of the best games (of this type). - is what he meant. I mean, he's talking about tower defense games.
+Sp00kyFox Most AAA games are trash
NotThatGuyYouKnow If that is what he meant he should have said that lol yeah maybe he's just bad at words.
Do Mike and Ryan not understand how PC gaming works, especially indies?

Diablo 3.

where is the new AVGN episode?
Lost in Mike's willy warmer
He work on Monster Madness.
This was just released.

Guys guys, there's a new board James coming soon. Look at the playlist there's one video that you can't see. It must be the next episode
You guys are so cool.
I love the look and concept of the game. Hopefully, the developers will consider the advice you have given.
nice! i actually cam just a few drops when i saw this :) thanks man!
Who immediately thought of Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood when Mike said, "Speedy delivery?"
I did! Mr. McFeely!
are you guys going to do a show about the new nes classic that is being released in nov?, i am so exited about and have a feeling james will be looking forward to it too. keep up the good work, have been a fan since the old skool 2007.
Will it come out for PS4 ?
My fondest grinding memory: Dragon Warrior (NES). Those were the good days.
did hou guys play the originL? lots of people who did liked it but I think thr main critifism was it had little replay value.... and it wasnt grindy so you should try that one
I bought this game, and it's great. Thanks for the vid guys
This sounds like a video game version of the board game Galaxy Trucker
Great call on Kingdom Rush Mike! I love all three of the Ironhide games. Can't wait for the next game they put out!
guys i need help, im searching a game almost 16 years and i never found it , about a wizar which creates ice cubes and he is pursued by small flames and he create those ice for scape the level....maybe someone remember the name....thanks
I don't normally like too many tower defence games but this one looks great.
Best tower defense game I've ever played was Sol Survivor. It's a few years old now, but the gameplay is active and unique. Has multiplayer too! I've put in around 500 hours on Steam for it.
That was a very constructive review. Hopefully the game makers watch this
I think the game is 2 years old now, but I'm sure they'll watch... they just already know about the grind.
Space Run Galaxy is about 6 weeks old. You're thinking of the previous game, which came out in 2014.
Zed
Ah Galaxy. My bad. I never even noticed. Looked like the same art. If only they called it Space Run 2. Makes me think Space Run Galaxy is their way of saying "deluxe edition."
+Cinemassacre Ya'll check out FTL: Faster Than Light on Steam, I think you'd like it. Can't remember which video but they both mention having played it years ago.
AVGN?
This is Talk About Games.
The Nerd just got fatter, didn't you know?
Based on what Mike's saying, he seems to want a short-run mode. Should be easy to mod in/implement.
Mike looks like the hero from SpaceRunGalaxy. 00:08
From what you say, Mike, it sounds like you should try the original Space Run. You'll like it more.
Although completely different, they should look at one of my all time favorites: Kerbal Space Program. They may have a problem with KPS's "difficulty", but they seem geek enough for it.
you may love Dungeon of the Endless then
This is a video game version of "Galaxy Trucker". If they reduce the grind, it would be really fun then.
Wow what a beautiful game..
this is a a great game, it is a visual board game..(james)
go
review the Darkest Dundeon, it teaches you to make the best of a bad situation, stacks the deck against you, and almost forces you to read a walkthrough just to be able to play the game

looks like starship defense but with a bit more to it
now that's some ugly looking spaceship. It should be more 'adding gun modules to a solid ship' and less 'put gun towers on a flat brown surface'.
From the way the Dev writes his updates, it sounds as if this game is made by a one-man studio. So yeah, hopefully he will see this.
Gotta turn auto-focus off guys. Good review though.
I think you should try FTL, also about space travels and pretty challenging.
wait u guys have vinesauce in awesome channels, can u guys put vargskeletor (idk if I spelled that right) he's part of vinesauce and is a big retro freak
The game looks kickass. Might give it a shot sometime.
bro please tell me how to get this game plzzz bro plzzz
Ive got the original space run, it must have been a humble bundle maybe i should play it.
Please play "Crash and the Boys street challenge" :)
for James and Mike Monday's they should play double dragon for the Sega master system
Does anyone know if Plants vs. Zombies GOTY Edition has new levels then the old ver.?
The Game of the Year Edition has 20 achievements, access to the Zombatar (decorative only) mode and new in-game music which cannot be found in the original version. This can be downloaded on the official soundtrack.
The Dancing Zombie which resembled Michael Jackson has also been replaced by the new Disco Zombie. The Backup Dancers have also been replaced. Zomboni's almanac entry has been changed.
James you look so different without your glasses.
James, I want you to review Undertale and tell us your personal thoughts about the game.
Sounds like a level in Mario Galaxy
Welcome to The Grind. I play War Thunder, I know your pain.
The grind is everywhere now. Even some shmups make you grind.
Games That I Play aint that the truth
You guys should check out "Ghost of a Tale" on Steam. It looks great.
Oh, look. It's Trevor from GTA V. (The guy in the middle) 0:07.
anybody notice mike hasn't been his usual cheery loud self in alot of newer videos ? :/
This is exactly how I felt. I just quit after a few levels, it wasn't very fun.
Mike, you're a good man.
A space game where you go & deliver things to other planets while being in constant danger? *cough* Futurama *cough*
Pretty cool game.
my loacal drama class was in town to see a play and i see one called the XXX plays
sounded sexy so i checked it out ...........it turned out to be 30 plays
+1 if you also think, that Ryan should stop going to the blind blind man without hands for getting his hair cut.
Haven't played the sequal but it sounds like it suffers from the same issues as the previous space run game which quickly became ridiculously tedious and difficult
seems like a simple freestyle mode would fix it
You guys should play Furi
Here's one of the best games, now let's shit all over it.
You can like something and criticise it. In fact, you should. Nothing's perfect.
You know you're getting old when you refer to different video games systems as "decks" rather than "consoles". Hey, what deck do you have?
DO A REVIEW ON KONG SKULL ISLAND
talk about gauntlet 2
u lostme at tower defense......
i want avgn
do a trailer review on Kong skull island.
yes
u should play ds3 though. maybe when the dlc comes out in fall
sounds like the old game TDZK
. I played through the game and I just found out it was a feature... but yeah the difficulty spike is dumb.
Space Run Galaxy, starring Terry Bogard
please do a donkey kong nes video
James do kong skull island
you should make an avgn episode on bootleg console
who missed the old AVGN
AVGN should play Raid On Bungleing Bay
This review was almost schizophrenic. "It's a burden," "awesome," "kill me now," "best game of the last five years"... Sounds like this game had some really cool ideas but then it tripped at the finish line. And broke both legs. And crushed a spectator.
Ryan is cool, I don't understand the hate towards him.
awesome
Try FTL please
Please play bro force
Sounds like you would like "Space Run" (not galaxy) better.
Hey Mike and Ryan, this is defnely a Rip Off from Stratosphere, an 90´s pc game that was awesome! You Guys should defnely play it !
this isn't my type of game but that's ok. i also think it's funny that Mike always complains how easy games are but than for this game he bitches about how hard it gets it just makes me laugh that's all. also Mike for Zelda 2 do what i do when you play it next time. i believe the term is farming i don't normally use those terms so my apologies if i got it wrong.
next time you got play it before you go to death mountain to get the Hammer i think it is. the area is quite easy to get around if do this. go there when you your sword is at 3 and of course i think you get an extension on your life bar. well it's so much easier spending a shit ton of time waiting until it's to like i said 3 and than when you know the path like i know it by heart like i'm sure you do you will get through it faster never go through it when it's set at 2. that's how i do it anyways i do this right before i go to the 2nd Level because some of the guys in that need a stronger hit as you know.
and this comes from a guy who actually never has even beat the game. if you get it for gameboy advance if you want it to be even harder man. they i think shorten the steps or whatever the hell those things are called when you fight the dragon in i forget the level. so i've been unable to beat it on that but i haven't played my NES in a long time to try to see if i can beat it on that. sorry for going off topic but you talking about Zelda is what got me thinking about that.
what happened to new nerd videos, its been a while...
focus on the wall
Guys, relax, play some porno games and discuss it
It would be funny to see them live stream a Japanese "dating simulation".
I'd suggest Rapelay, but they'd probably be banned.
wtf. best game of five years? really? it is just a little strategy game. I played it myself and it was fun but do not praise it like it is the best game on the market lol.
