Great video, this is how I play it. Work smarter, not harder. Someone asked if I was playing the real or the "fake" way due to the capo. Well, were the correct notes coming from the guitar? Yes.
3rd chords lowest note could be the "open" capo'd d string instead of 10th fret a string. Slightly different string sound but same note and may be easier shape for some to play
Thanks! I've glad you liked the video :) I uploaded the rest of the song last weekend. Here's the link ruclips.net/video/f1dey3Vlyac/видео.html - Enjoy :)
I second that the root note on the 3rd cord can be the open D string instead of that awkward shape. Then, you can play the open A on the transition, and you only have to move your ring finger down one fret on the second chord and completely off on the third chord, and everything else can stay the same.
Great video. It is a difficult riff no matter how long you have played guitar, that’s for sure. I was just wondering if you got the hack idea from the 2019 Glastonbury performance? The “Killers” guitar player on there playing with the capo is Johnny Marr from The Smiths. Either way it’s a great hack since it’s hard in the original way, and also this way it can be played in standard tuning ! Great job! The rest of the song would also be great 👍🏻
Thanks! It’s a really hard riff and I always dreaded seeing it on a setlist until I figured out the Capo version. I can’t remember which concert it was but I’m glad I saw it as this hack has meant I can actually enjoy playing this song on gigs now :) I’ll do a video for the rest of the song soon :)
HI - great tips but the link for the tab takes me to a panel which collects my email address and then tells me that the website is "nearly ready". How can I actually get the tab for this please?
Hi, I'm glad you like the tips. The website is down for maintenance and upgrades at the moment where I store the PDF's so sorry for the inconvenience. It will be up and running by mid next week so you can either try again then or email me directly contact@fretlix.com and I'll send the PDF over to you! Thanks :)
Hi @fretlix. absolutely love the lesson and signed up But the download lesson TAB where you show the difference between the capo from 5th to 4th fret seems to be the same apart from the first bar. Anyway, thank you again so much for this, my band just added this song and it will be a fantastic help!
Hi, I'm glad you liked the lesson and thanks for subscribing. Well spotted and thank you for letting me know about the TAB. I've updated the workbook now so it's correct. I'll be uploading the rest of the song this weekend. I'll show you all the chords needed and all of the original Guitar parts with a Capo so hopefully that will be useful when you play it with your band :)
@FretlixGuitar I hope you know, that this was by no means to be a dig-message. I understood when following your video what you meant and just wanted to highlight it. Anyway, you are doing a fantastic job with all your work. Hope you are well. I camt wait for more content and will check out some of Your other videos and wisdom! All the best! Dan
Hi, I didn’t think that at all and I appreciate you letting me know :) Thanks for your nice words about the video. It’s a lot of work making the videos so it’s nice to hear that they are appreciated and helpful :)

Thanks and I love this comment! I’m totally with you, if the notes are correct, then what’s the problem right!?

Ah but the capo then gets in the way of playing the next section surely?
Hi, you can play the entire song with a Capo. I’ve been asked by quite a few people to make a video on this which I will do soon :)
