Unpopular opinion: Storage units should only be used as short term solutions. If it is not worth it having those things in the house, it is not worth paying to be storaged.
You never know what the storage is like at her house, she could want the stuff in a climate controlled space. They could be without a garage or basement.
I feel the same way. If you need a storage unit for your things, you have too many things. Time to downsize!
Storage building is an extra cost. For me, if I knew I could put things in a storage building, I’m not forced to make a decision. Loved the video but not so much the storage suggestion.
Self storage for long periods of time mean they go from a "once a year accessed" item to "I never look at it again" item.
Totally agree but I keep seeing new storage buildings going up all around...like, do we all really have that much of a need to keep building them? Of course, cluttered garages that can't hold cars is also a pet peeve. I hate clutter and junk!
I understand the video was sponsored, but I don't see the point in paying for storage when I have space at home where I can keep my stuff for free and can also access it more easily.
I wish I could have actually seen more of the decluttering process. That is super satisfying to me!
I find taking a picture of a sentimental item works just as well as keeping the actual thing. Just take a picture of that white lantern and let it go. When I see a childhood photo of mine wearing something I don’t own any longer it brings back the same memories as holding it in my hand would. This little trick has been working for me for years
Stairs to you attic! I would love that, in the UK your lucky if you have a ladder fitted and don't have to jump up there from the top of a step ladder 🤣

I really like watching people organized and/or declutter. I also believe self storage is right for some people/certain situations. That being said, I do respectively disagree with you in putting your sentimental items into self storage. I personally believe that unless you have collectibles that you are saving specifically for their collection value, that your sentimental value items should find a place in your life, even if it is only taken out once a year or so. But usually items in storage get forgotten and also often, our children/family don’t want these types of items unless they can attach a memory to them (ie looking at them with their family). Again, this is just my opinion, maybe yours is different. That being said, I do think self storage has its place, but I think it is important that your items go there never to be seen again.
Ok idk why but when she said at the end, "I hope you're having an amazing day!" It literally hit my heart and made me smile, and I did end up having a good day. Sounds stupid and i''ve been subscribed for a while so it shouldn't hi me so suddenly but lol. Love you so much!

I don't understand the need of a storage outside of the house if you have an attic. What stuff do you have that you don't need that much in few years but is so important to keep? I think the storage units are for someone who has a tiny apartament or is moving for couple of years.
I had a separate storage unit for over 18+ years, saving heirlooms and just realized how much $$$ I’ve spent over all these years. After a recent conversation with my adult Child, there is NO interest! Now I’m trying to find avenues of parting with the “possible”antiques. Other tips did help though & motivated me.

I bet that also feels better mentally. I know I have clutter that I need to organize and it weighs on my mind constantly. My mom is coming to visit soon and she's going to help me declutter while she's here. Can't wait!

Love watching this. I find cleaning and decluttering videos inspiring. I need to tackle one room that I am scared to do. I did my workshop when pregnant 2 years ago. I am pregnant again and need to completely redo my office. I walk in and am overwhelmed. Live your tips. Now to keep my kids out of that room for the next week. .. ugh

I’m only 12 and I have 4 younger siblings and 2 dogs and my mom and dad living in my house.My parents ain’t got no time to clean and my siblings all are lazy and don’t help.Im on a journey for the rest of my Christmas/winter break to clean my whole house which i succeeded in.But,I want to do the attic cause I have extreme OCD and my hobby is to declitter,re organize,clean and stuff like great.I find it all soooooo super satisfying and I’d do it for free for anyone’s house.So this video really motivated me to clean my attic and I’m so excited too!

Oh man.. I totally agree with you about watching Hoarders :-D Haha... One time I watched an episode and it was over at like 11 or 11:30pm and I just HAD to clean something before bed even thought I was so tired!

I'm actually doing my attic today. It's not as full as urs I don't have big baby stuff it's just lots of cool toys I love that's belonging to my son and over the years I've dealth lt with it bit by bit and had flooring put down to move around easier. The clear out I did 4 yrs ago was for that very reason so now it's time for the propper clear out to begin. I've got 3 large tubs and that's all I want. Stuff I'm keeping for my son in one tub 2nd tub for my stuff and the 3rd tub probably a box of old photo's that's it. I'm clamping down on what's not really really needed. Have a great day everybody. Oh and it's extremely windy today as we have gale force winds to its gonna be pretty chilly up there too bcause there's gaps at the end of the beams for ventilation reasons I guess. Wrap up 😁

Organizing is hard and exhausting! I used to hold on to everything until I started having kids.. I make it a habit to declutter and donate 1-2 times a year, especially the clothes since kids grow out of them so fast, and our storage is small. Good on you girl for pushing through, you did it!!

This looks like my laundry room...I just started to tackle organizing it because I just can’t stand it anymore. It’s so helpful seeing that other people have those spaces in their house that get so messy too!

Word of advice, if you are storing anything important to you that is not replaceable such as photos, at a storage facility, store them in a fire and waterproof container. A. couple of weeks ago a storage facility near my house caught fire and 11 units were completely destroyed (everything in the units were in plastic totes or cardboard boxes).
This motivated me to finally organize my closet! I clean daily and keep things organized... but my closet always gets so messy 😅

SENTIMENTAL ITEMS TIP
There are items we will NEVER use but they bring certain memories or mark a particular event in our lives. Space is valuable in every home. Consider taking pictures of these special items and keeping them in an album where you can view them any time you desire. You will probably see them more often this way instead of under some pile some where. The take the item to a proper place. Given to someone who needs, donated, and yes, we have to face reality, some of those special things we save should be thrown out. Take a picture and remove it from your valuable space.

I clean out everything from clothes to household items twice a year. If I can't decide, I keep it. Once it's gone, it's gone. I don't part with any of my childhood things so it's mostly current stuff or if I change my house decore.

Check this out, I used to live in my grandmother's attic, with my family. Mom, dad, and two older sisters. It was big enough for it to be separated into three small rooms, like big enough for two small dressers and a queen size bed in each. As we moved out, it became very cluttered up there. Like to the point we couldn't even go up there anymore. It was PACKED to the stairs. And down into the room with the attic access. It was bad in that house.... But I loved being there. It was my home. And I miss it terribly 😔

FYI storage facilities that make you purchase or give you keys to a unit have a master key to all unit and employees go into customers units and steal. So not only do they steal your money they steal what you are storaging.
Omg. My husband and I are buying his childhood home and his parents filled and entire, huge room with all of my husbands childhood things. Furniture and all (literally almost everything he ever owned.) And now we're having baby #3 in 10 weeks so clearing it out has been a hot mess
Why would you pay for storage unit if you have you a attic, by getting a storage unit you was wasting money.

I cringed when you said goodwill..... I’m all for getting things cheap but I hate that they take your stuff even though it’s donated. They turn it around and make a profit off of it. Storage units are great only for a short term solutions. If it’s not used, sell it or donate to non profit places. Love your channel, your family is beautiful.
Goodwill might be for profit. But it won't be in your house anymore which is the end goal.

Also there’s a good chance it will get roach infested so when you move the stuff back into your house you’re more susceptible to an infestation... not worth it!!
