What about the traction and stability control Scotty? Fuse, wheel speed sensors?
Nice cat
What should we be doing to help, did I miss something
Hey Scotty, my aunt has got a 2004 Land Cruiser with 56k miles, should she change the transmission fluid or not? And if so, should she change it at the Toyota dealer?
Hey scotty I just bought a 99 ford f150 and at idle it vibrates semi bad when I accelerate it's not as bad what's your thoughts on that
The cat helped with the inspection
Conspiracy theory- the cat is the real mechanic 🤔😉
Lol
A CAT-Scan.🐆
In a rare move, it appears the Cat approves of this Chevy. Fascinating.🤣
@@sleepyhollow783 Maybe needs some Lab 🐕 work also
The cat is scanning the roof of the car which is why it is called a catscan
More Cat!
🤣
I’m leaving
Lmao thats a Win bro
Winner!!
“You can’t fix stupid.” - Scotty Kilmer
That’s Ron White’s favorite witticism
Learning fixes stupid
Scotty fixes stupid all the time!
But you can charge for it 🤪😃
you cannot fix stupidity with american education
Ever notice all of his customers are slobs? Every car is dirty. They aren’t car people for sure. Keeping him busy. Love ya Scotty. Great job as always
I would be too embarrassed to give my mechanic a dirty car let alone have it seen by millions ...
they are probably hard workers with no spare time or knowledge on tons of car models
I haven’t clicked a video as fast as that, My goodness I love Scottys vids. Keep it up dude!
"except for the leaf" 🤣🤣 Scotty, a seriously amusing man.
Scotty do an intro of you speeding down the street in the scooter?
Btw thanks for the knowledge im changing my first set of sparkplugs and cabin filter this week!
I will, I'm planning something big in a few weeks!
6:10 GREASE... the slide pin *before* you put it back together, especially if you live in the Northern rust belts.
Great video scotty!
@Rich Rishel Thanks for the info brother, I edited my comment for clarity. 👍
*SCOTTY:* _"Hey, can you please hand me that socket wrench?"_
SCOTTY'S CAT: *_"Meow, meow-meow, MEOW!"_*
*SCOTTY:* _"I don't like your tone, Mister!"_

Scotty: " I asked you to give me the 7/32 not the 3/4"
Good afternoon, Scotty. Keep those dealers in line!
hello and will do!
I just bought a hoodie from Redbubble com with scotty on it saying his famous REV UP your engines..
can't wait to wear it
I feel smarter already! Thanks Scotty!
Stupid is as Stupid Does!
He’s the best
“Free paw prints all over the top of your vehicle with every service.”
And scratches in your paint.
Next video: "If you're not stupid, you're stupid"
That's how I feel about this 1 lol. Its not exactly fair for him to say
Tip: don’t break ur hand squeezing the caliper with pliers. Use the old pad with a C clamp to push back in, it’s way easy on ur hands.
I also remove the Master Cylinder cap , so the Piston will Compress , easier .
Just DONT FOFGET TO PUT THE CAP BACK ON and squeeze down a few times on the brakes when you are all done , Before You move the car .
Thanks for posting. Like others said it was nice to see cat in the video. I got kinda lost when video changed away from Impala. Oh well. Im getting tired everyone. Good night Houston!
“Hey, watch me photo bomb Scotty.” The Cat
I hear there’s only 2 things automakers really fear:
Emissions Regulations
and Scotty Kilmer
NightWolf9 truth
That DIY on the mass air flow sensor could really save a bundle
Probably one of your best videos. Love all your knowledge you share but sharing your HOW TO on breaks and checking out a used car was awesome 😎
Scotty the car GOAT 🐐 can’t see why anyone would disagree
mass air flow sensor
I love his cute tuxedo cat!
HELL yeah Scotty. Today I woke up thinking how I can test my alt , starter. Then I watch this video and learned how to do it !! Love you so much.
00:56 Scotty's cat doesn't hate it, so this Impala is okay.
It's so good to see Scotty's assistant inspecting the car's roof and doing their part to help 😊☺️😀
I always love the way you say "move the stupid cover"... It'$ really tickles me all the time...cant stop laughing... 🤣🤣🤣
Exactly how I change brake pads...I never remove the entire caliper...had to show the guys at work how its done
"A little knowledge" *points to holy grail of car knowledge*
I should of stuck with mechanics!!!! This .... guy makes a million every year for wat he says......dam... good job mate.... never retire, we need you mate...
Jesus. I can't tell you how many times I went in to this one particular shop and I was overcharged because they either didn't know what the hell they were doing or they just fixed a bunch of crap that didn't need to be fixed. This youtube channel is a Godsend.
Scotty does hate those engine covers. He doesn't forget once to call them stupid.
Hey Scotty!! I had my oil changed today, just replaced the oil filter with a titanium one, a high performance, durability air filter but not the K&N version. I took it out on the highway as well to let it clean itself out with some gumout for deposits, such for my chevy camaro. 2010 This video basically answered my own question. So, in a way you have already helped me on my journey. Thank you for your patience, time good sir! P.s. I am starting to get the impression you don't like Chevrolet. 😁😆 Please make a video about Chevy's and why you believe they are crap if you haven't already. I wish to know more. Best wishes. I hope you're foing well. 😇🖖
Scotty, I hate those crap covers as much as you do. First thing I do is remove them and trash them. (On my own cars of course). Gotta be able to see what's going on under there. Although my 07 Camry 2GR-FE with over 251k only got reliability going on under the hood. Lol. Keep up the good work.
After all the videos I watched about not doing this to your car or you’re stupid. I think this is the first video I’ve ever watched where I’m actually not stupid this time. Thanks Scotty!
One day I'm gonna superglue a beauty cover on just to fk with Scotty's composure...film him secretly lol
Dude you are pure Gold
Keep rocking
I can listen to this man all day 🙂
Would not use a metallic screw driver to pry the frozen brake pad off (potential to scratch the rotor). I’d used something plastic or rubber coated. He also didn’t check the rotor thickness to see if the rotor had to be replaced. Last, it’s been a while since I last did brakes, but on the older Fords, if you compressed the caliper pistons without releasing the pressure from the brake fluid, you could mess up the ABS system.
Your still the man scotty. Big up from Scotland
Nice to see you looking at a Chevrolet and not giving it a bad name.
1:00 - Scotty's cat has just detected a problem with the Impala's antenna.
7:45 Scotty's left-handedness got in his way
he couldn't get it off strait
That Impala looks like it is in pretty good condition. Shows what happens when you take care of a car. The one addition I would do to the simple brake pad change would be to lube the caliper pins that the bolts go into. Every time I have ever changed disc pads, the pins are dry, and sometimes they are worn. Think about it. Most of the time, pads last for years, so the pins dry out also. We are about the same age, but I don't have the strength in my hands to compress the caliper pistons with a pair of water pump pliers. I have a tool made to do that, but a C clamp works well also.
@, I would not buy this car no matter how it sounds even if it was brand new. You couldn't get me to buy a GM product at all. I haul new cars for a living. I see the build quality every day. Our company has contracts with Ford, Nissan, General Motors, Chrysler, HYUNDAI, VW, and Mazda in the areas that I work. I own Fords for my personal use, and I have seen the build quality going down even in the Fords. The only vehicles that i can see where the quality is going up is in the Kia and HYUNDAI brands. They are much better than they were 10 or 15 years ago and most of them will go 100,000 miles or more with decent maintenance. And when you consider the price for a new car and figure that into your cost per mile to own it these become something to consider, then, afterwards look closely at Toyota and Honda that will give you 300,000 plus miles and the cost per mile to own one of these will definitely cause you to raise your eyebrows.
Upon inspection the car was found to have "cat scratch fever";)
"Let's take this stupid cover off" 😂😂😂
What a Cameo Scotty's Cat made today. I love how his Cat seems to get into every video one way or another. Tuxedo Cat's are Cool !!!
That cat is a scene stealer for sure !
happy saturday folks!
Also testing your car electrical system when the cars been running and alternator is hot is helpful.
I remember someone saying it's dry and nothing rusts in Houston. Now it's humid and there's rust LOL!!!!
It doesn't really rust - but everything corrodes
@@GOPGOP-bk2yy Corrosion, surface rust......same thing.
Most Cars in Houston dont rust much unless you live close to The Gulf ( Galveston, Freeport , etc ) and/or Drive on the Beaches a lot without washing off your car , after .
I lived in Texas for 20 years..
wait a sec.., 2 older GM vehicles that for the most part had relatively minor problems and were inexpensively fixed?
@8:32 Love how Scotty calls those beauty covers stupid!
Scotty, what's the name of your Cat?
I get the same feeling of confidence when I
see the live cat as I do when I see the cat pillows!
Lucy Kilmer.
Happy Birthday Scotty! From Sydney Nova Scotia
thank you!
Scotty is a gift to mankind
The way you break down the scan tool readings makes me want to buy a fancy one
Lucy is helping with this job!
Best car mechanic on RUclips keep up the amazing work Scotty!!
thank you!
Scotty Kilmer you’re welcome you are seriously the best love everything you do
Good to see you had your assistant working with you today. 4-paws are helpful.
Scotty keeps threatening to retire, so I can only hope the cat is getting ready to take over the YT channel 😂❤️
Car jerking? Is that some sort of new dance move scotty we don't know about?🤔
Just realized this was 2 different cars. I got confused when the hood closed from the windshield.
Facts
This was great! :) I wish I was closer... It’s hard to find an honest mechanic these days. :/
I found ONE (1) in Huntington ,WV at River Cities Tires and Garage. A good mechanic and a very honest man.
Do those calipers have a bleed valve? I've been told you open the bleed valve before you squeeze the caliper to push the pistons back. If you don't, it can push the brake pressure back into the master cylinder and cause damage.
you deserve a noble prize for ca repairs
thank you for recommending WD-40 SPECIALIST Silicon quick drying. Work fantastic and solved several problems I was having.
0:57 casual cat just chillin'
Scotty, where is that bell I watch you ring multiple times per day?
When the customer got his car back, it had a cat on the back seat.
I always get a kick out of a Kitty Kilmer cameo.
Thanks Scotty. I find myself pretty good with car know how not so much with computer stuff but most everyting else. like your videos you tell it like it is. have a friend that knows his cars too. has the older honda that was a hybrid at that time. forget what its called. now likes and trust still old cars so got a deal on a 1984 biuck century, lol. v6 I patched some holes on the shock towers because im a welder, and made a a new steel bumper up for him too.we did brakes, horn . and some of the power window switches as well. think it will pass certification now. we live in Canada. anyway like the old cars. can fix them easy(room) cheap parts even new and last a long time again trouble free.take care.Mike.
Scotty is a prophet.
Whenever Scotty Kilmers drops the new videos I roll up the Wool-o and get all schmoked up.
It’s great when you forget to roll your window up in the summertime and a cat takes a whiz in your car at night
I took my car to Scotty and I got it back with paw prints on it.
That Impala owner is really lucky. I've seen those things just two or three years old and they were already falling apart. They just weren't put together all that well.
We will put all this crap back on! ............ That technical lingo always gets me.
Those sway bar links on those GM cars are garbage. I had to change both sides because they rusted and broke. The replacement ones used a bigger bolt and were designed like older sway bars had. You right about GM,,,,,,,,,
That leaf is a deal breaker 😁
Dealer: "$250 to remove the leaf."
Dealer: "$600 to take the stupid cover off"
Yup... you’re definitely right about that...) believe I know. My father a general manager at a dealership.. the stuff he told me.. !!! Typical ripoff. !!
Excellent basic sold common sense car maintenance. Keep em coming Scotty. 🛠️🔨🗜️
I like how Scotty hopped on the CB at the end for a moment.
My chevy equinox 2007 has problem with service stabilitrak.. thank you for are your teaching!! Hello from nicaragua!!!☆♡☆♡☆♡
Im not a chevy fan, but I have to admit they have nice V-configuration engines.
If the strut is ripped would I have to replace it? I hear no noise on bumps or anything in general from that area. Thanks in advanced!
Thought Chevy was synonymous with the junk yard pic. This one is still going at 11 years old. Must be a miracle.
Those plugs needed to be changed for $45.00 bucks. I just did mine a VW gti made all the difference.
Once or twice a year use a battery terminal wire brush & clean the connections. After reassembly spray just a little PB Blaster on the terminals to prevent oxidation.
You forgot one thing Scotty......
The Cat is supposed to be under the car
Great video Scotty... you do a great job explaining the steps and what you are looking for when checking a car...
How can this car pass the emission test, if the CAT is on the roof??? XD
I can’t help thinking that cat was checking meowt
Woot 4m subs congrats scotty!!!
7:18 I’m dead 😂
Yup!!!
That K&N air filter (oil impregnated cotton) messed up the MAF sensor. Just clean it instead if replacing. Would have fixed it.
I enjoy seeing what car will be in the picture that Scotty picks for each video, or which car the picture was taken in. This time, I think it’s a Skoda Octavia.
Haven't we seen this like 1000x?
GENIUS SCOTTY. IM GONNA VIST YOU SOMEDAY
1:04 Cat: “smells like an endless money pit to me”
I have a 2016 Ho da Accord Sport and when I get on the highway and start going 65 or faster I start to feel a wobble under butt. I had the tires balanced
