Sabrina Fojo hehe! that's exactly how I felt when the movie finished. your heart just bleeds for the joaquin phoenix character because the film just perfectly shows how terrible unrequited love is, and just how messed up it is when you fall in love a lost soul as the gwneth Paltrow character was. I know I could feel the anguish the male protagonist went through. brilliant film!
Is not easy to figure out how the story of a guy who gets laid with Paltrow and Shaw at the same time can end up being sad...I mean what's left for the rest of us then?
lol well while he does get shaw, his heart belongs to Paltrow, and unrequited love is ....awful and i'm being polite in that description hehe! one only hope he finds happiness off screen
Couldn't agree more. She's so forgettable in every movie she makes. Another great performance by Joaquin. He plays every genre and nailed this one beautifully. Invited to dinner just to suss out her true love? Ouch, that's brutal.
The sad part is in real life this happens all the time. Now as far as this topic. I agree with the comments. If Michelle would have given him a chance he wouldn't be on that couch with Sandra. He would have went off with Michelle and forgot all about Sandra. Until the day Michelle fucks up, then he would come back to Sandra. I dont know if he will be faithful to Sandra at this point because he came back still loving or shall I say lusting Michelle. He only came back because of the security he knows he will have in the relationship and comfort. I'm not talking about money wise. He knows Sandra would do anything for him and take care of him by loving him. So he chose to go back because if he lost Sandra too, he would be alone. That freaken sucks. I feel this movie deep in my soul. I was Sandra 2 years ago. I wish they made a part 2 of this movie that tells us what happened and if Michelle ever reached out to him again. The part I'm curious about. When he dropped the glove at the beach and gave Sandra what he was going to give michelle. Why was he crying? Is it because you think he felt bad what he did to her or because of what happened with Michelle? All I can say is poor poor Sandra 😩
@@thelambliesdownongenoa1831 oh, Michelle is one, don't get me wrong. But I also don't think women should be mothering men. Be nurturing, sure, but not a mother.
@@craz4jaymz well, no one is perfect. This movie is very ambigous about its characters. But at least Sandra is a sweet and lovable person, not an unstable prima donna

He nailed looking awkward and nervous. It wasnt cliche at all. He is a true artist
Because he is awkward and nervous
The scenes with his mother in the bedroom are so real and unaffected. Beautiful film; truthfully acted.
I can't win
And I can't win with that
great film, my hats off to joaquin and Gwyneth in this film, very sad movie but brilliant
is so sad, I mean my chest still feels as if I went outside in a breeze

It's not, the final was happy, he founds out the difference between passion and love. He had an unrequited fantasy.
This movie is incredible. It changed Lujon forever for me 😌🧡
Right
Joaquin breaks my heart in this scene.
I love this movie. JP was superb in it !!
Yes, an underrated film + performance
He's superb in everything.
@@LeeLee19901 Truth! Just saw Joker. There's got to be an Oscar with Joaquin's name on it for that one, it's next level acting masterclass.

He has the most wonderfully expressive eyes.
@@Missjunebugfreak absolutely. Joaquin disappears completely into his characters every time, and conveys such emotion with just his eyes.
IS THERE ANYTHING THIS HANDSOME MAN CAN'T PLAY MY GOD HOW HE HAS NOT WON A OSCAR OR A HONORARY OSCAR IS A REAL CRIME😔
@S Anna I just re-watched Earthlings..showed it to a family member for the first time. Eye-opening.
Perfect role for Paltrow, spoiled, selfish narc. Phoenix plays the hopeless love sick dude perfectly.
Paltrow was always hot still is now

Oh God, I feel so sorry for him 😥
I wonder if Paltrow was another one of Athur Flecks illusions;)
Yes
I have found you
I have loved Gwy since EMMA. I should probably watch this, but as guy I am feeling sympathy pains for Joaquin's awkwardness in this scene.
He's definitely a sympathetic character in this
@@KrisGriffiths Joaquin always completely disappears into his characters, and you believe every second, and feel every emotion..
You should watch it. Gwyneth showed one of her breasts in this movie
I love the film, Sandra was perfect for Leonard- the eternally confused and volatile soul.
