In this video I go through five things that could be holding your snowboarding back.
Love those magnetic lenses! Mine are so difficult to change, I just leave the Rose ones in and on sunny days wear sunglasses underneath. Best of both worlds. After lots of reading on colours, chose Rose over Yellow as seemed to provide for better range of weathers. Bought additional Black lenses too, but as they're so awkward I never use them. Oakley Prisms from around 2014
Just buy 6 different goggles with a different lens and decide in-between your $12 french fries at the lodge for the same price. ($312)
Ha ha-so true! 😂
There’s lots of cheaper goggles out there as well.
Yooo
Totally agree and just want to mention that there are two type of lenses - cilindrical and spherical, which everyone shall test before buying. Goggles are very important because if can't see the terrain ahead of you the danger can remain unseen.
Forgot to mention that! Thanks for the extra info!
3 type cylindrical, spherical, and toric

seems like changeable magnetic lenses are more common these days but i do really like the photo-chromatic Julbo googles I have (snow tiger lens). ~13 to 43% vlt which work great for 75% of the days however i do carry a 2nd goggle that is specifically for low light days in my backpack. the Julbo's state max time from full dark to light is about 33 seconds and i find that on most days i don't even notice a change in light because the googles adjust for me. it would be cool to have swap-able photo-chromatic lenses so that i only have one frame but carrying 1 extra fixed lens pair if fairly easy.
After years of buying $200-$300 smith and Oakley goggles i now just buy 3 pairs of the big five special…this year Costco provided 2 pairs of Scott’s entry level google and scored my third pair, branded Hurley from Ross dress for less averaging about $20 each at seasons start….
Another tip: Hit up the lost and found at your local hill, i have never not scored a nice pair of backups for those wet days when multiple goggles is almost a necessity. Toothpaste and a buffing wheel will get any condition lens back to brand new clarity.
Hey Kevin! I'm looking if you made any video taliking about helmet headphones... I think you don't have one.... Do you recomend them?
Goggles are important for sure thanks for the help
Another thing I’ve recently found out, the M4’s are also ‘OTG’ (Over The Glasses), I used to wear contact lenses BUT now have Oakley glasses, I read online a lot of goggles are now made to fit over glasses. So I tried the M4s over my glasses, and yes they fit 👍🏻
Might be worth mentioning on one of your goggle help videos (especially for us older viewers 🤣)
I believe with the M4's you can also get an insert for prescription lenses if you don't want to wear glasses. It's a frame that pops into the inside of the goggles.
Have you tried Optic nerves magnetic lens goggles??
Got the m4s because of you and i love them with the mask
Awesome!
Hey thanks for the video! I’m still struggling which pair of m4 I should buy for covering mostly every condition (without buying a third lens) .They always come with two lenses should I go for ex. with Perceive Variable Blue & Perceive Cloudy Pink? Or would you recommend another set?
Greetings from Switzerland
how did u find this colour way?
Do you have any advice for preventing googles from fogging? I have Smith I/O Mags and they fog instantly, then the fog freezes on the inside of the lense and i cant see shit. i have to go into the lodge and let them thaw out, then the next run it happens again.
anti fog coating is prolly worn out. why when the inner lense is wet don’t wipe it off and just let it dry
Been Rocking Oakley Flight Deck, same pair for going on to i think their 4th Year, still in great shape. They dont have the magnetic swap but once you get used to how the lens clips and unclips its not any hassle at least not for me.
The only Issues ive ever had have been caused by me choosing the wrong lens for the day hahaha but thats mountain weather for you... unpredictable at times.
I've gotten various Flight Decks lenses over the years. Off-season purchases can get a second set relatively cheaply. So I've just kept the low light lenses as a second or loaner set when non-regular friends join me.
@@aaalllen that's a great idea
Flight Decks are sick!
Top 3 or 5 widest view goggles with interchangeable lenses? I have the Smith Squad XL and was looking at other brands that had the widest field of view.
👋 ck out Casey WILLAX FTD 🙏🏻🏂🏔️🤙🏼
Could you review Smith 4D Mag?
Good advice. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
How do you like the Smith I/O mag XL? I’m deciding on these and the Anon M4 and wondering if the price of the M4 is worth roughly $100 more
Don’t get the smith IO they’re horrible and that’s why I am watching this video.
Im an oakley guy but got them after trying s few diff brands. Electric were cool but they were just too small. Ive got 3 models of the oakleys and they all work well.
Oakley make awesome lenses! What models do you have Adam?
@@SnowboardProCamp ive got the fall lines xl, line miners and flight decks. Each goggle is set for every condition so im not swapping lenses like a chump 🤣
👋 ck out Casey WILLAX FTD 🙏🏻🏔️🏂🏔️🤙🏼
Whats the difference with the colour of the lenses, like amber/red/pink does that have function too or it it personal preference
diff vlt percentage
jesus well if you have this ...nothing amount of knowledge.. about lenses you shouldn't rely on youtube comments but deepdive into the matter by googling it.
@@naerys87 chill out it’s definitely not as deep as you’re making it out to be
Love the Anon m4s
i didnt know m4s existed! 😲 im still using my m3
Yeww!
Trinsic Optics.
Magnetic swappable lenses.
Had me at hello. And they don't change the base set every year.
Replacement lenses are cheap compared to a new set of optics.
i always watch these videos after i buys something new
what about putting the goggles on the helmet instead of wearing it under the helmet? just not a fan of the feeling of the direct contact with the goggles bend.
Either way works best for you. I find the goggle fits snogger to my face with it under my helmet.
I like putting it under my helmet as well, i find it useful when i wanna take my helmet off but not my goggles, too easy. Lol
Recommendations for goggles with swappable lens for under 200?
Anon sync when it's on sale only tho
Spy has some google goggles under $200
You can get the Anon M3 on sale for around $190 with two lenses.
Have a look at trynsic optics. They're basically anon clones and as far as I can tell they perform just as well
Giro Axis, wearing them for years now. Love riding in them. They use magnets too. In addition they use 4 additional connections to keep the lens in, one on each corner of the lens.
5 years with anon m3 and they still like new
Awesome! I have a friend going on 4 years with his.
Anyone have experience with wild horn’s Roca? They seem (on paper) to be a much more affordable alternative.
I have them, they are super easy to swap lenses and they don't fog up, they are comfortable and didn't kill my wallet!
So I should buy an Oakley goggle??
Which ones?
Oakley are sick too. My favourite are the Line Miners.
$319 for a goggles, nah I'm good
for me ok from aliexpress 13€ :)
too late
Can’t stand wearing goggles, prefer to use sports sun glasses
There are definitely positives! Feels so much better especially in spring riding. Though in a stormy winter day how does it feel?
I prefer sunglasses some days!
dude im just buying them for fun
The background looks like a green screen.
Honesty? Just trim the nose foam to fit. Use shaving-foam to prevent fogging.
These may be viable options for swim goggles or a casual, 3 day per year, clear conditions rider but anyone who lives in the mountains or spends an ample amount of time riding will find this statement silly and naive. Good goggles will never fog, and a quick trip to the store will allow you to assess fit.
@@masondixon1718 Yes I fully agree as far as fogging goes. However as you implied I snowboard 10days a year so spending that amount of money is hardly justifiable. Even with mid-range options my nose could not fit. You have to take into consideration different races that vary greatly in nose size.
The issue is usually not enough foam for people with flatter noses.
@@SnowboardProCamp You can never add foam. My point was not to discard an otherwise good option if you can remove foam. It is not a perfect way of doing things, but if it gets people with less money (and options) on the slopes why not? If I do not remove the foam I can hardly breath.
First
Jose!!
Thanks Jose!
Just buy out of electra.
That background is FAKE!
Which one?
It does look fake, but it’s all really. I shot that in the back of a cabin in South Lake Tahoe during a snow storm.
Wearing goggles under your helmet is not safe, it reduces the proper fit of the helmet and it wont protect you as well when you fall. Will never understand why youtubers promote this
Do you have a study that shows goggle under helmet is unsafe?
@@SnowboardProCamp go to any shop and they talk about proper fit of the helmet on your head not goggles. Every MIPS, wavecel, Kyrond test is done without goggles under the helmet. Goggles under means you don’t have a proper fit and all these advanced safety features won’t work as well. A helmet cannot transfer the energy of an impact as well if it’s not properly fitted to your head. This doesn’t need a study is basically common sense.
@@Briguydude not very sure I understand you. The only difference wearing goggles under the helmet is that you get the strap between your head and the helmet. What would be the difference between a strap and hairs? The same helmet should be ok for someone that has long hairs or is bald, so why would a strap make a difference?
@@vannibombonato4180 hair forms the shape of your head. Straps push the helmet back and away from your head making it easier to pop off. Also goggles over secures the helmet to your head more. I sold ski equipment for years and still work in the industry I think I understand just fine
@@Briguydude that doesn’t answer logically the question.
Hairs can come in any form or shape, from the absence of them, to them being concentrated in particular spots, with peculiar shapes, etc. Hairs, their form or the absence of them simply determine the shape upon which the helmet should be snugged. Same goes for a strap, which can be way slimmer than some hair fashions.
I get the part of goggles further securing the helmet, but again, that will make zero difference in an impact. Once the first impact happens, either the helmet is properly fit and locked or it certainly won’t be goggles keeping it in place.
Goggles are not in any way required for a helmet to properly serve its purpose.
