- We have both the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 Limited and the BRAND NEW GMC Sierra 1500 AT4X. We put both trucks side by side for a direct comparison so you can see the new features to determine if this truck is worth the extra $10k. There are several differences on the outside, but the interior is what tells them apart.

I'm liking the redesign interior a lot. The price of trucks though lately are rather high.
The truck market has continued to go up. Some of these trucks cost thousands more than what used to be “a luxury car”.
Rather high? They're absolutely ridiculous!
It’s insane what trucks and cars go for nowadays. Thing is it’s auto industry wide.
AT4-X looks awesome in white.
It was a toss up between the tan and white. The white storm trooper color combo is hard to beat!
Under rated channel!
Thank you! We’re just getting started and hope to keep bringing content that makes people happy!
I would love to have either one man are they beautiful trucks
are you able to do a comparison of the differences between the refreshed and the AT4X I'm looking at the AT4 now and i dont know which one is going to be the best bang for its buck its my my first official truck purchase
Let me see if I can get my hands on the newer refreshed AT4. Overall, the main difference is in the suspension. The AT4X has a very comfortable ride with the DSSV shocks. I've even noticed a big difference on rough spots in the highway.
I was torn between the AT4 and AT4X, but wanted it with the Duramax engine, to me that was a must, so that debate was taken care for me by GMC and in the process y saved quite a bit of money.
@@galaman12001 i was torn between the duramax and 6.2. Both are great trucks. Duramax sure does get better mileage!
Def check with dealer RPO (initial repair order) - kicker audio is a dealer installed item.
Thank you. After following up with the dealer, they informed me that it will be installed once it’s available. I didn’t receive an ETA as of yet. I sure appreciate the recommendation!
My wife’s black AT4X arrived at the dealer on Saturday. We will be picking it up once it’s had the windows tinted and been through pdi. It will be replacing a Raptor. We’re very excited
That’s the first thing I did too! They look great with tint. Congratulations on the purchase. You’ll love it!
When did you guys order it?
Also did it arrive with any constraints like not equipped with heated seats/steering wheel/ and front and back park assist?
@@idratherfly2000 we ordered this in December, even before pre-orders were being taken. We worked with our local dealer and they put in a request on the first day GMC accepted orders.
@@idratherfly2000 it arrived without the park sensors (will be retrofitted when parts are available). It excluded rear wheel well liners, and they gave me a credit for that. It also came without the kicker tailgate audio system and will be retrofitted once parts are available.
Did your AT4X ship with the SuperCruise feature??
It is equipped with the standard adaptive cruise control. It does not include the SuperCruise.
Thanks!
the interior features of the AT4x are all mostly the same after the refresh. much less differences from AT4 to x now. this is comparing the AT4X to the old version of the AT4
Correct. It’s comparing the AT4 “limited” which is the pre-refresh 2022’s to the AT4x. Both trucks are stamped as 2022.
but you get massage seats! :P
@@carvdecarv oh, and they’re nice!!!! Believe me!!! Most used feature on the whole truck.
Give us an update on the kicker audio system please!
I’ll be sure to update as soon as i hear. My dealer did mention they are backordered, but didn’t have information beyond that.
I really don’t like that start stop button being raised up and not sunken in AND being exactly next to the air trim knob. I could imagine reaching down when driving and accidentally hitting the start/stop button. This one feature alone is enough for me to consider the standard AT4 or ZR2. It’s a huge safety issue.
That's a good observation. I can say, that owning the truck for over a year now I've yet to have an issues, personally.
The difference is the AT4 limited is a 2021, tons of trucks sitting in a field in Flint waiting on chips, so to not lose money they call it a 2022 limited lol. I just picked up a “2022” limited gmc 3.0 duramax and there’s 3 chips still missing on mine. They are selling the some kind if not most limited like that
Well, that’s one way to put it haha! These microchip backorders are insane. We paid $10k more for the X, and it’s still incomplete. Keep me posted on your duramax if you ever tow anything 8-9,000lbs. I’m doing a full towing review with the X and i’m still curious how the duramax would compare. Mileage and power! Congratulations on the new ride, nonetheless.
I have the 21 3.0 at4 and it’s great
I went to the GMC website and I found that there is a big gab difference of fuel mileage between the at4 and the Denali. Why is that?
It might be the difference in the standard motor option. The fuel mileage between the diesel and the 6.2 is way different.
Engine option and wheel and tire option as well. If you build them both even with the 3.0 Duramax the Denali will get slightly better mileage due to the wheels, tires and lift that come on the AT4.
@@williambryan5188 That's good to know. I wasn't aware. Thanks for sharing!
anybody know why the tailgates dont fall flat with the bed?
I dont think i’ve ever noticed that. Ill have to go take a look!
Why are you comparing the AT4X to the AT4 LTD?
The AT4 refresh has the same front end as the AT4X with a different color grill.
Because i own both of these trucks, and wanted to share the difference between the two for those who were interested. A refreshed AT4 wasn’t available at the time we recorded.
Did you say the Multimatic DSSV shocks are electronic? I don't think so.
I guess i was misinformed when I purchased the truck and did the video! I appreciate the comment and thanks for watching. I was under the impression I that they worked similarly to fox shocks on Polaris UTV’s nowadays.
I’ll better educate myself before sharing more info on those shocks.
The DSSV shocks are unlike anything else on the market and also more costly.
@@richardguse3410 im definitely a big fan. There is a noticeable difference across all terrain types. If feels more like a comfortable SUV than a truck while driving down the highway. I haven’t noticed much of a difference while towing, tho. Maybe because the tongue weight counteracts the suspension.
@@GrizzlyHabits As you know no suspension with "Off-Road" considerations is ideal for towing at the higher end of the vehicle's capacity. IMO, the DSSV's ride qualities can't be challenged.
@@richardguse3410 very true!
Automakers have finally sold people on the blacked out look, which saves them money compared to the multiple interior color options they once offered, as well as chroming the bumpers. The chrome bumpers stay looking new much longer, without the need to repaint. The interior is much nicer than before; still, it looks bleak with so much black inside, and such high prices overall.
I agree! It will be interesting to see how long the black stays “new”!
Finally???.. you mean gm.... ford and ram have done it for yrs
Literally disagree with everything you said.
Black sucks now because everyone does it ! It’s not unique anymore!!
They both 2022??
Yes, the limited was the same as the 2021, but they called them 2022 while they we’re waiting for the re-designs to be released.
GM has built a great truck here....
I agree. I’ve put 5,000 satisfied miles on this truck. Great build!
Can you get them without the stupid antenna in the front?
Haha i was thinking the same thing! Antennas are kinda dated now. I’m sure there a some great aftermarket options. Ill let you know if i find one.
@@GrizzlyHabits it’s weird I’m seeing some new at4s without the antennas and some with.
I'll keep my eyes peeled. Now you've got me curious!
@@GrizzlyHabits yeah man there’s RUclips videos out there that have them on and off
it's an eyesore for sure. 1998 wanted its antenna back so the first thing I changed on my 21' AT4 was the antenna.
Ordered Denali Ultimate. Over High country. For the Bose 12 speaker system and new seats. And know one is showing stereo and talking about seats????
We were on the fence about ordering the Ultimate. It looks like the interior of the Ultimate is incredible. I'm super curious about the self-driving while towing, too. I'd love to get my hands on an Ultimate!! Congratulations.
HOT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks for the love!
You do know they did the refresh design on the AT4 too right? This is not accurate information on the 2 trucks….
Yep. I called out the exact names of the trucks in the beginning. This is an AT4x vs. the 2022 AT4 Limited. Those with the limited know that it was the in between truck from 2021 and 2022, stamped 2022. Both trucks are 2022. And i did not compare the new AT4 re-design. I compared it to the limited. Thank you for the guidance, tho.
@@GrizzlyHabits that’s not even the same comparison. Try doing the same design then focus on the options on both…
@@sethb775 i understand that’s what you want to see, but i own these two trucks and i dont get paid to do reviews, so i reviewed what i had access to, for those who might want to see that comparison. I’m actually searching for a new AT4 to do another comparison for people who are in your position, but my goal was to compare the at4 limited to the x… and that’s what i did. My next video will be a full review for towing with the X if that’s of interest to you.
@@GrizzlyHabits I just bought an AT4 refresh last week. It took me 14 months to get this truck. I’m very happy with it . It is important to point out the reasons the X is $10,000 more that’s why I looked at your video…
@@sethb775 Where are you located? Let's do a video!! Come out to Utah?
I have a Denali ultimate and love the truck…..I had a 21 carbon pro AT4 but it was just too rough of a ride for my old @$$ 😆
Man, im jealous of the Ultimate. I had a hard time deciding between the two. Enjoy your beautiful truck!
@@GrizzlyHabits I was lucky and got one of the first 20 in the country with the 6.2 and super cruise!!!
@@BeamerTime354 you got the unicorn!
80k+ and no rear wheel well covers???
Correct. It was during the supply issues from covid. I had the choice of waiting, or taking delivery without.
@@GrizzlyHabits yeah had to put them on my trail boss as well. Got it I m March of 2020 so there were no supply chain issues at that time yet. GM please do better...
I believe the at4x is built in Mexico. At4 built in ft Wayne
I think that’s correct
My TRX is full load and has all the chips so no thanks, that exhaust looks dumb😊
Black plastic around the wheel opening is just HORRIBLE
Are you referring to the inner wheel liners, or the black trim that acts like a “fender flare”?
