I commend these guys for trying to take airsoft/milsim to the next level.
40 hours is rough. I did a blacksheep for 24 hours straight, no sleeping, and I was wiped. (Well, okay, I only made it to about 16 hours)
This is a big eye opener for me. Really reminds me of playing project reality where it depends on teamwork and such. This is totally going on my bucket list. Hope to be on their field in a couple years!

A tip is get a mountain backpack and put your assault pack (empty) in there and also the things you are going to put in the assault pack and once you get the assault pack out you fill it
I run a mk46 and went to seize grozny. They gave me the amount of BBs my riflemen buddy's got. I used it all in 1 engagement
How are the blank firing rifles incorporated into the game. I know it adds a huge sense of realisms, but how does it affect the actual gameplay? How do they kill people?
Sam Thistlewood In observing this firsthand during the event, the honor system is still very much in effect to make this work, but over and above that, calling your hit from blank fire round requires the player to incorporate the element of 'live action role playing" (AKA LARPing) when he or she suspects that someone with a blank fire rifle is shooting at them. I've witnessed shooters have to call out to another enemy player close by to alert them that he has been shooting at them, at which point the player acknowledged, and I didn't suspect any cheating. I think it was a situation where they just didn't realize it with everything else going on (it was a crazy firefight). Having the blank fire rifles in game really added an awesome effect to the immersion factor. Very cool to hear those shots going off rather than just hearing a bunch of AEGs going at it. - Tom

Since I can't reply to @MrVLeAsian for some reason, here's an answer for him and anyone else who asks the following question:

The answer: No. A member of my fireteam at RtR wanted to run his, but he was turned down. Keep in mind: Your overglorified AR that takes SAW box mags isn't a LMG, nor is it milsim. If you wanted to play gunner, you should've gotten a proper SAW.
This would have answered alot of questions I had before SOTS lol. better now than never tho

No, But you can use it with the local militia. it would be considered a mag fed rifle. Only belt fed area LMG. SAW/ 249, 240 type, RPK, etc etc and maybe MINI gun if they allow you to mount it to vehicle.

Well, normally if you travel to the US for airsoft especially one like Milsim West, you sleep and eat on the battlefield. From the research I've done, Im pretty sure they give you a living quarters, but if you plan on doing things other than airsoft, I suggest you get a hotel in the vicinity of the area as well.

In the TACSOP, there's a rule saying:
"Don't "game" the event, go with the flow and enjoy the experience".
Can someone explain that rule in a little more detail?
Wrim's Airsoft I believe that means, Don't be a D Bag and exploit any Gamesmanship BS. You know, the kind of stuff you see people doing at other events like pushing the rules to their absolute limit and saying, "Well the rules didn't say I couldn't this very specific thing that no one else in their right mind would have done." It means, have fun with it and experience the game to a full level of immersion and enjoy it. MSW isn't like any other MilSim or airsoft event out there, so why would you want to ruin it and turn it into yet another John Lu event?
These are just my thoughts on this rule, but I bet if Josh or any of the other guys were to read this, their answer would be similar. Well, maybe minus the John Lu reference.

You’d have to have a realistic unit to copy an impression off of, and would have to have at least nine people to form a squad together. If you have that you still have to get it approved by MSW cadre.
Last December at Guardian it was allowed for Rusfor to have a whole FSB platoon to run modern kit with multicam uniforms. The stipulations were those in that platoon had to wear multiple high vis IFF bands.

Manu X one hit and you can get bandaged but twice then a medic has to make you drink a regular 16oz water bottle all the way then your ready to go

+rose nononono depends on how you decide to do it. and how much you bring, if you decide that your shooting a shit ton, bring multiple FULL cans, carry 1 in your Ruck, leave the others with your COC, and when your Squad Leader and Platoon Leader Call for Resupply, make sure to give them Notice that you need Blanks.

secretagentnight RUSFOR can use any Russian-issue camo, REGFOR is limited to OD/Woodland, NATO can use multicam or UCP. You can use other NATO camo (like CADPAT), but only if you find another few guys with the same camo and squad up. For example, *Jump to Crimea* had an Australian themed squad running around.
