Correct me if I am wrong but no where in the manual it says to calibrate after the upgrade to have the correct GRBL settings. Video will be out today on how to calibrate the 8040
Thank you paw paw for all your content I watched all of your earlier video content on the x carve cnc I’m am new to the cnc and just purchased the x carve based on your videos lots of learning to do here ..
The FoxAlien XE-Pro 8040 with a properly adjusted linear rail upgrade looks like the limit switch stop blocks could be relocated perhaps 1/2” (or a bit more) to gain a little more X and Y travel. I assume that would necessitate changing soft limits in G code? I wouldn’t want to disable the sold codes. If so any help welcome. I would like to get 17” Y and 33” X travel if possible… keep up the great YT vids!
Yes, the upgrade gantry has the linear rail. The y axis is unchanged. If you have upgraded the machine to the linear rails then yes. The base model of the XE PRO did not have linear rails
Would you be able to tell me the overall dimensions on this with the extension kit? I have very limited space in my workshop and need to figure out if I need to take some storage apart to try and fit it. Thank you so much in advance if possible!
It is 54”x31”. This includes a space for the controller. Also, this is the minimum measurement to the edge of the machine. If you are building a table, go bigger if you can
Great Build Paw Paw!
Thank you very much
Great build!! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you. Calibration of the upgrade is coming out next

Thank you. Does adding the extension kit make both X and Y linear rail?

@@PawPawsWorkShop ah, so, if you still have the base unit, the extension upgrade means that the y axis will not gain linear rails.
Yes, that is correct
Muy buena labor
Thank you. Next will be how to calibrate the x axis after the upgrade

How’d you tram with the new spoil board? Mines not level. Did you level the spoil board first?
What is the footprint of the machine now?
It is 54”x31”. This includes a space for the controller. Also, this is the minimum measurement to the edge of the machine. If you are building a table, go bigger if you can
Thank you very much I just ordered it on Sunday with the extension. . Your videos are so helpful . Thank you again
