I am not sure that you are doing anything wrong, or that anything has changed , in Snapseed. If I may guess you are expecting something from the Expand Tool, and perhaps the Frames Tool, that Snapseed has never done. With both of these tools you can enlarge, or diminish, the size of the border but you cannot reposition it so that there is say more at the top than at the bottom.
@@FocusPhotoSchool Something has definitely changed. Before, you could manually adjust the expanding without having to use both fingers to expand. For people like myself who like to use the expand option for MANUALLY selecting only two sides of the image to be expanded, that absolutely no longer works, and I can't understand why they would just suddenly disable that feature?! If it ain't broke, don't fix it, as the old saying goes. I'll be looking for a new app that has the feature, I suppose.
Most of my photos are taken on Snapchat which are vertical. They don’t fit on most social media platforms without having to adjust the ratio and crop the photo. The expand feature on Snapseed is great for a photo like u are editing in this video but, not for a close up selfie. Any suggestions? I been trying to figure out how to upload to social media without cutting off my photo for almost a half of year😫
I don't have a solution for you Adriana. The best that I can offer is so perhaps useless advice. Most traditional photo viewing platforms, and all television sets / computer monitors, are much longer on their horizontal side then on their vertical axis. For this reason it makes sense to shoot all videos, and most photos, as horizontal images if your ultimate goal is to display your work on a screen. I know that vertical photos and video are trendy right now with Snapchat / Instagram but these are fads. Nothing against either of these social media platforms, and I don't mean to sound old here, but Instagram square, or the Snapchat vertical format, are unlikely to change the world at large. So my advice is shoot horizontal and then crop a square, or a vertical image, out of your horizontal original if needed.
I was having same problem but, i found its solution I use black/white expand mode instead od smart and expand my image to the desire ratio You are welcome
Going to your website, I notice your courses on Lightroom. Perhaps a full course on Snapseed? I've watched many RUclips tutorial videos on Snapseed, but most, if not all, giving the tutorials speak a mile a minute. You are about one of the best as you allowing time for the students to absorb what you are teaching them.
Thank you for the kind words on my tutorials! I do have a complete course on Snapseed from Google at my website. See focusphotoschool.com/snapseed-tutorials/
I am not sure that I have an answer for you. I have no problem dragging the top edge out using the Expand Tool in Snapseed from Google. Unfortunately, I can't reproduce this problem on either of my Android devices or my iPad Pro.
This video was recorded with an older version of the Snapseed from Google App. That said, the Expand Tool is still in this program. It has a different icon now but it, and all of the tricks in this video, still work.
Crop and Expand are separate tools in Snapseed from Google because they work in opposite directions. Crop reduces the total size of your canvas whereas Expand enlarges it.
Sadly it seems you can't move individual borders any longer... or am I doing something wrong?

Correct. It stopped working for me, as well, and that Sucks!

it is new to me, that to expand the frame you need TWO fingers. 😀
Thank you. I am subscribing these useful tutorials now 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
Expand tool stopped working what to do 🙁

@@FocusPhotoSchool awesome! Thank you so much. I checked out that link. You mentioned I can watch them on TV. How do I go about doing that?
Why I can't drag the top edge to expand?

What version is this?

It worked for me in Android, thanks!! One thing though, I thought the option would be with crop options, but it is apart.

My picture looks weird now and it’s not letting me change it back to normal😭😭😭😭
