You don't have to save after each use of the Selective tool. You can drop a point, adjust it, then tap the + (Add) icon to drop another point, etc. Then hit the check icon when you're done with all of them.

I decided to delve in and learn more and wow, I’ve ended up with some great results. I’m for from being done learning, this is a great too. Thank you for putting out great info.
Your explanation of “selective” tool was the best by far of five other quick tutorials recently viewed. Prior to this tutorial, I had misunderstood the true nature of the tool for color correction. Thank you for clearly explaining the benefit and use of the tool.

I've been using Snapseed for about a month and I love it so far; it's become my main photo editing tool for my "real" photography (i.e., photos I take with my Lumix FZ1000-II, as opposed to quickie snapshots with the phone). I don't use Snapseed on my phone; I prefer the larger screen of my tablet for it. I'm planning to learn GIMP at some point on my laptop, but that's kind of on the back burner. I have found, by the way, that when you have a LOT of photos and you're not sure which ones or versions you want to edit for actual use, it can be hard to figure out which one is which in the thumbnails that Snapseed brings up. My preference is to flip through the photos in the actual gallery on my tablet, and when I know which one I want to edit, tap the Share icon, which includes Snapseed as an option. Thanks for the video!
*Women & Food - My two favorite things! lol* I use Adobe Photoshop express on my iPhone and to save money, I use Adobe after effects instead of Photoshop on my PC... does everything I need :) Another reason to not go overboard with the ambience or saturation is that it can bring up artifacts like noise and grain. It's interesting that you use the word "tuning" as it actually reminds me of tuning guitar strings because your trying to find that balance of appearance vs performance so you go back and forth or up and down until you get it just right, similar to how you turn the tuning pegs of a guitar up and down until the note of the string is identical to the note of your tuner or other string. Just started today with snapseed. Easy to start. Just hoping I can find out how to get out of app and start over. So far I’m enjoying your tutorial. Thanks
Hi Dee, I just came across this video, I was very low as my Indian Food channel was not doing well due to poor and bad thumbnail. Though I had Snapseed for some times but wont be able to explore that much. But after watching your video, I see the light. Thank you so very much for such a helpful tutorial.
I am a beginner for snapseed. The app is really cool with so many features which is why it was also perplexing but now I hv got some clarity. Thank you so much☺️☺️

Loved your video. I had watched several videos on the selective tools and understood nothing! Now, voilá, everything is clear! Thank you so much! You have a teacher in you.
*buries face in hands* How did I NOT EVER hear about this app? The icon just magically appeared today. Googled 'snapseed' and learned that Google procured it. So there. Really looking forward to using this. Have been getting fed up with PicsArt and their pullback of standard features to pay-to-play. Thanks for this great starter vid!
When I use the Selective tool and drop a point on a subject, when I tap on the point and hold it, I am only able to change the brightness, I do not get the others options, such as saturation, contrast, or structure.
Hi Dee! I Just want to say that good video and I use PicsArt to Edit My Thumbnails! Congratulations For 10,000! If I dint comment in your future video, that means I have school!
Great tutorial, I would love to know more. I've been using combination of Canva, Phonto, MagicEraser, & BlendFree to come up with my current Thumbnails but would love to see what Snapseed can do. Maybe it can make it easier for me. Also, I can't seem to get Tube Buddy to register thats its a high definition thumbnail. Do you know how to do that?
I know you can change that in many computer programs but I can't seem to find it in any of these iPhone apps. Just the camera settings but I'm not taking the picture with my iPhone.
ModernDayFamilyMan - now that you mention it, I don’t think I’ve seen an app give you options for the resolution when exporting. Maybe if you try starting a blank project at 1080p and then load in whatever images you’re going to use, the apps will export at 1080p Also you should be able to check the resolution of the images you’ve already exported, I know on a PC you can right click properties and then go to the details pane and scroll down, from there you can see the details like the resolution... not sure about the Best way to do it on a mobile device however. π
I have a bunch of apps I never use because I’m overwhelmed. Thank you for your help. So far this video was the easiest for me to understand. I like your delivery. Thanks again.
I wish the tutorials on the app were as clear and specific as your explanation here! I was ready to give up on Snapseed, but will give it another go. Thanks.
Snapseed and PicsArt mostly .. this is really helpful , but it would be even more helpful if you make a video of teaching how to adjust each and everything , for example. Brightness contrast .. etc..keep up the good work brother ❤️👍🏼
Thank you so much for demystifying Snapseed. As a forever user of Photoshop, I had to give it up when my old computer died, and I had to either pay to subscribe or give up on graphics altogether. Went from Mac to Windows 10, with photoshop installed. New computer had Windows 11 and photoshop for subscription only. Ugh! I hate Windows 11, couldn't figure out the subscription photoshop, so cancelled and gave up. Then, happened across Snapseed on my iphone. All I wanted to do was a photo collage, which was so easy on photoshop. Snapseed wasn't intuitive. I finally was able to paste one photo over a background, but couldn't figure out how to fix the obvious border on the cut/pasted photo (eraser), and couldn't adjust contrast, saturation, and other corrections on each photo. Now I see...You have to do the adjustments to each one prior to importing the next. I'm hoping that one can paste several photos over each other, but I haven't viewed all your videos yet. My only complaint is that you talk and change from one video to the next WAAAAAYYYY too fast, but I can deal with that. You've got me thinking that Snapseed will allow me to ditch Photoshop and its subscription costs altogether. We'll see.....
Honestly, I think this is one of the best, if not the best, thumbnail maker app. I've been using it for a couple months and it is awesome! The only thing I wish they had was to add a second photo without changing the opacity. Whenever I add another photo (on double image) it fades both photos and I wish it would keep both of them at full opacity, but otherwise it's an amazing app!
Yep. Add the second image like you would for double exposure, then set the opacity to 100. Then you can go to your edits and choose that one, or the other one, and work on them, or cut parts of them out, blend them or whatever. It's the only way you can do it currently. The edits option is at the top with the layers and the arrow over them. Might not be what you're looking for, you'll have to play and see.
Indian food is pretty good. My faves are biryani or kashmiri usually. Did not realise that selective will change all the colours that match that shade. I mainly use it for lightening up areas that have a little too much shadow. A more advanced tutorial would definitely be interesting. 👍🙂
Hey Heather! Indian is my favorite. I could literally eat it for every meal and snack. I was like a fiend when I went to India. 🤣 I’ll build up to some more advanced tutorials. Snapseed and PicsArt have so many videos that I need to make.
Must be pretty cool to try actual Indian food from India, not just the westernised stuff we have here. It’d be fun to go on one of the festivals like holi or diwali when everyone’s celebrating.
I'm new to editing photos taken with my phone, and a professional photographer I know suggested Snapseed as a good mobile app. It's a fun app to play with and easy to use, and free! I didn't know about the Selection tool, thanks for explaining what it does and what a difference it makes!
Why is it that 99% of all the "new" photo editing tutorials or articles show that you can use the new waves of mobile editing software to bright, colorize and sharpen photos. Like that's even a thing any more? That was a thing on flip hnes though, But you can't install snapseed on an old razor
I use picsart but decided to watch this out of frustration of my picsart tutorial searches. I have watched so many tutorials searching for just 1 that is clear, well explained & easy to follow & even tho yours isn't picsart it is by far the best photo editing tutorial I have come across. After watching this will definitely give snapseed a try. A problem I am having is removing the glare from glasses, like prescription glasses not sunglasses. Hopefully you can help me with this.
I love Snapseed and I usually just use the drama setting, had no idea it could do so much! Thank you. I really needed to learn how to do a side by side or before and after in the same thumbnail. I’m super tech challenged
Hi Dee I had been using Lightroom until I had fellow photographer put me onto Snapseed. Had given others an attempt but they seem all same, basic unless you pay a monthly fee. It's a great program. You make it simple, without all the unnecessary flash in between. Speaking so quickly you miss kee elements. So I thank-you for clean presentation, helping me with my photography. Looking forward to getting started. Thanks again Susan
I usually use Lightroom/ iPhone in app editing. I tried Snapseed before but there was so much stuff I got overwhelmed lol. But nice tutorial I’m jumping back into it!
I gave this video a thumbs up the second it started. You have a great niche on this channel! Thank you for existing! Take it easy and keep up the great work!
This video was so helpful because I do a lot from my phone!! I use Adobe but just figuring it out and don't know what I'm doing🥴... I can't believe this app is free. Thank u!❤
A quick tip/trick: You can actually make a selection of your edit. For example: - add a lens blur to your photo. - tap the icon next to share icon on top (that looks like stacks and has arrow above it) - tap view edits to view your edits history - tap "lens blur" or the effect you want to work with - tap the brush icon Now you simply brush around where you want the effect to be visible. Zoom in for more precision. this can be great for things where you want to focus on a certain thing.
This is my first exposure to Snapseed. I use ON1 and Adobe Elements for my camera photo edits. I never edited my phone shots before and wanted to start doing some. I posted my first shot using Snapseed yesterday and realized I needed to better understand the program. Will be viewing more Snapseed videos. I did like your quick explanation of the program. Will look for other videos you produced.
Fantastic, sensational. I am running a photography school and I am taken aback by clarity of both the program and the tutor. Jerzy Gaweł, Cracow School of Art and Fashion Design
Best way to keep from over editing your photo is when you're finished look awat count to ten hit the button to show you the original look at the original for 10 seconds and then let go to see what you edited. if you over edited it will stand out instantly when. You see it go from original to exited.
Thanks for the tutorial. I always had difficulty finding out how to use Snapseed. I used to get lost in the endless editing tools and options. This video is very helpful.
i have just downloaded the app havent even opened it but i see that a lot of people just downlad an app without researching it if its the best they can get i havent watched the video yet but from the comments ill be here to the end and i just feel people should start researching there apps before getting them more we should be taking full advantage of the day and age we live in just about any information you want is obtainable now its amazing lets start using our knowledge better.

Dee, this was one of the most direct , simple short and effective video I have seen on Snapseed. Keep them rolling....
Thank you! Will do!
I love the Snapseed app - very powerful and easy to use. Nicely done tutorial Dee!
Thanks Gord! It's simple, but it's for helping people get started with the app. Appreciate you watching and leaving a comment.
💛💛
A huge thank you for showing me the basics. Truly appreciate it.
Happy to help!
Snapseed and Adobe Lightroom mobile and that are two best apps for editing on phone.
Yes!
Test it then
There should be more options there
You may try to scroll to see the other options.
I just got an s20 ultra and the first thing I downloaded was Snapseed. Now I just need to learn how to use both of them. Thanks for being there Dee!
Hi Dee! I Just want to say that good video and I use PicsArt to Edit My Thumbnails!
Congratulations For 10,000!
If I dint comment in your future video, that means I have school!
Hey, thank you! I understand, see when you get a break from school! 👍👊🏻
New to snapseed & only started with foto editing. Your wat of explaining is awesome - thank you.
You can still use all of those. This is great for taking an image that is dull or already looks ok, then making it more colorful and eye catching.
ModernDayFamilyMan - I think you just have to make sure that it’s 720p or 1080p.
Were you doing that already?
This is correct. 720 at the very least.
Maybe if you try starting a blank project at 1080p and then load in whatever images you’re going to use, the apps will export at 1080p
Also you should be able to check the resolution of the images you’ve already exported, I know on a PC you can right click properties and then go to the details pane and scroll down, from there you can see the details like the resolution... not sure about the Best way to do it on a mobile device however.

I have a bunch of apps I never use because I’m overwhelmed. Thank you for your help. So far this video was the easiest for me to understand. I like your delivery. Thanks again.
Happy to help! Thanks for watching, Tracey!
Thanks for this tutorial, Dee! You told me about this program yesterday in the live stream! You totally rock, Dee! 👊🏻
Awesome! Glad it helped! Thanks for hanging out with us!
I’ll see what I can do, thanks!
Very helpful tutorial. We met someone out walking yesterday and he suggested that we use it. Had never heard of Snapseed before.
Many thanks, you have a “next” Snapseed tutorial ?
Just uploaded it! ruclips.net/video/3Y0fZYmtgNk/видео.html
Ok, cool! Also congrats on 10k!
Thanks, I appreciate that!
Great tutorial friend!!!! Very clear and easy to understand. Thanks for sharing with us!!!!
You should have explained the terms as well. Like what is Vignette, ambient, contrast and so on
Agreed, for those of us that are just starting this process.
I've used snapseed for a long time but never had a tutorial this is great thanks I'll be back for more 💗
Fantastic tutorial, great content and very well explained... Keep up the great videos. 🙂
Thank you. 👍
Snapseed is great. Unfortunately, I have only scratched the surface of the power of this app. Thanks for the great video, will be back.
I’ve been using VSCO since 2014 but looks like I’ll using Snapseed again
I'm new to editing photos taken with my phone, and a professional photographer I know suggested Snapseed as a good mobile app. It's a fun app to play with and easy to use, and free! I didn't know about the Selection tool, thanks for explaining what it does and what a difference it makes!
It’s my favorite app. Super powerful.
Please do an advanced tutorial on snapseed 💕💞
I absolutely love making my photos look better using snapseed
Why is it that 99% of all the "new" photo editing tutorials or articles show that you can use the new waves of mobile editing software to bright, colorize and sharpen photos. Like that's even a thing any more? That was a thing on flip hnes though, But you can't install snapseed on an old razor
Snapseed was recommended in an article about cell phone astrophotography. Thanks for the tutorials.
Amazing app!
She's gonna open up, 🤔really
I use picsart but decided to watch this out of frustration of my picsart tutorial searches. I have watched so many tutorials searching for just 1 that is clear, well explained & easy to follow & even tho yours isn't picsart it is by far the best photo editing tutorial I have come across. After watching this will definitely give snapseed a try. A problem I am having is removing the glare from glasses, like prescription glasses not sunglasses. Hopefully you can help me with this.
Because this video Iam and my friend get lot of assignment of english language... Thank Dee Nimmin.
I love Snapseed and I usually just use the drama setting, had no idea it could do so much! Thank you. I really needed to learn how to do a side by side or before and after in the same thumbnail. I’m super tech challenged
Good luck sweetheart
Hi Dee I had been using Lightroom until I had fellow photographer put me onto Snapseed. Had given others an attempt but they seem all same, basic unless you pay a monthly fee. It's a great program.
You make it simple, without all the unnecessary flash in between. Speaking so quickly you miss kee elements. So I thank-you for clean presentation, helping me with my photography. Looking forward to getting started. Thanks again Susan
💛💛
I've heard a lot about this. I will check it out!
Hey PLAYA! It's great for making those pics pop! Your thumbs look pretty goo tho. :-)
Thank you Jericho! I appreciate that.
@@DeeNimmin You got it! 👊
Thank you so much! I've been using PicsArt for years, but now.....Well you know, Snapseed it is! Thank you so much for sharing!
Great video. Have subscribed and looking forward to more of your tips and content. Thank you
This video was so helpful because I do a lot from my phone!! I use Adobe but just figuring it out and don't know what I'm doing🥴... I can't believe this app is free. Thank u!❤
A quick tip/trick: You can actually make a selection of your edit. For example:
- add a lens blur to your photo.
- tap the icon next to share icon on top (that looks like stacks and has arrow above it)
- tap view edits to view your edits history
- tap "lens blur" or the effect you want to work with
- tap the brush icon
Now you simply brush around where you want the effect to be visible. Zoom in for more precision. this can be great for things where you want to focus on a certain thing.
Hey Grabster! I actually have a video coming that uses this method for adding to the image. It's a great tip!
Looking forward to it 👌
I've used Snapseed for a couple of years... Love it... I want if for pc but it doesn't exist. I use it for everything, mainly landscapes...
I use it for almost everything too. It’s either my main editor or it’s at least in the process.
Just heard about this app. Your tutorial was perfect for me. I subscribed and want to learn. Thx
I just got Snapseed and I like this tutorial it helped with a basic understanding of how to find tune a photo.
Hello Dee! Gosh great tutorial and easy to understand for a dumbo like me! Thank you for sharing and look forward to more from you
Well, I’m a big dumbo so I explain it how I would explain it to myself. 🤣

Thank you!
Snapseed is my go to photo editor for years
It’s my favorite app. So amazing. Thanks!
Usaba Snapseed pero tu video me abrió un mundo de posibilidades que no había podido descubrir... ¡Muchas gracias!... 😄
I just watched it and i really like the contrast
thanks a lots finally I can make my photos brighter....
Fantastic, sensational. I am running a photography school and I am taken aback by clarity of both the program and the tutor. Jerzy Gaweł, Cracow School of Art and Fashion Design
Thank you! Snapseed is a fantastic app.
Nice tutorial Dee. I’m using Snapseed for full 360vr photos.
Haha I’m sure it’s coming!
Dee Nimmin hey Dee you just hearted your own comment. Does that count towards engagement. I always LIKE my own comments.
Thank you for speaking so clearly, so no English speakers can understand easily.
I use Snapseed and loving your tutorials.
Thank you for this video. I'm taking my first photography class and this video helped with allot of frusrtation.
Happy to help!
Liked this, straight forward. Thanks!
Just recently got into 360 photography, and this is EXACTLY what I need! Thanks for making it much less intimidating
💛💛
Intermediate and advance too. Snapseed is a fascinating app to manipulate images and bring life in it.
Thank you for the clear tutorial. Great. I have only ever used Picasa 3, but it has gone now. It looks like Snapseed is The One now.
Best way to keep from over editing your photo is when you're finished look awat count to ten hit the button to show you the original look at the original for 10 seconds and then let go to see what you edited. if you over edited it will stand out instantly when. You see it go from original to exited.
That's a fantastic tip! Thanks Will!
Thanks for the tutorial. I always had difficulty finding out how to use Snapseed. I used to get lost in the endless editing tools and options. This video is very helpful.
Thanks for watching. It can definitely be a little overwhelming to start. Hopefully this video helps you get going with it.
Thanks.....learned a lot.....Will practice!
Thank you so much for this tutorial - new to using any kind of photo enhancement - desperate need for my on-line selling.
