    The way you casually talk while doing these is just incredible. I’m only on my 23rd Pilates class, so I’m new. But I look forward to working up to this over the years.

      HA! Its not easy! Lots of years of filming and teaching. I'm so happy to hear you're loving Pilates! We have tons of Mat classes on here if you want to supplement with your Reformer classes. And feel free to ask me any questions xx~LL

    Hi Lesley, I'm pretty strong through the abs, but have always struggled to achieve this (still!). I know men have a higher centre of gravity than women, which makes even the mat roll up into teaser more difficult, but any tips on some exercises that might help to build to this a little on the reformer? I do't usually have anyone on hand for a friendly shove in the back for that critical bit of lift... Thank you! :-)

      Hi Andrew, Pilates was designed for by a man for men so you're in luck! Once we figure out where you are tighter/weaker you'll be enjoying the Teaser! Have you seen my prep exercise for the Roll up : The Elbow Slip? It's on my website onlinepilatesclasses.com under the free tutorials. Also, I'd work more of your outer hips. Get your butt and hamstrings/inner thighs working and you'll have more of an anchor through the legs. I go over this alot in my online classes! Also, feel free to try to only roll up to the tricky spot. Hold it. Squeeze your outer thighs together and then roll back down. Its not as fun as doing the full thing but it will help you get there! Thank you so much for watching my videos and this awesome question!! xx~LL

    How did you like going from this studio reformer to the contrology line? I recently got a studio reformer and replaced the wheels with bushings for more of a muddy drag classical feel. I love it, but I can’t help but think I’m missing out on a classical reformer.

    • @OnlinePilatesClasses

      I was trained on classical. And this studio had the studio reformer. I've been using Contrology since it released and have loved it!! I will teach on studio reformers when I tour. But, I always lower the ropes. However, you can't ever get them as low as where classical straps start. And, the springs on Contrology don't close the carriage all the way so you have to close them. Where the studio reformer springs are closed when the carriage is closed. So, yes you can make it muddy like you did and hopefully you're using longer and lower ropes plus handles. But, unfortunately you can't get it all the way. xx~LL

      @@OnlinePilatesClasses I did also replace the springs with the centerline springs. It did help a lot more. I do love my reformer, but I wanted to get it as close as possible to a classical because I just like that style more. The centerline was unfortunately too harsh for my wife’s hips cause of her joints so it was a good compromise for comfort and style.y long term goal in a few years is to get a contrology one for myself and she would continue to use the studio one. (I love the red and yellow color options you have as well)
      I did lower the ropes and I am using handles but I switch between loops and handles, what do you mean by longer?
      And would you recommend and loop and handle sets?

      @@slothpapa3119 in my mastering the basics workshop on my site you'll see the length I'm talking about. Most people have their ropes set too short. Centerline springs are still going ot be closed when the carriage is closed. Handles for the hands are always better than loops. Loops are for feet. Your straps need to be lengthened to get that classical feel you might not even need light spring options if the straps are longer.

      at this studio we didn't have handles which is why you see me using the loops.

      @@OnlinePilatesClasses thank you so much, like I mentioned, we needed the extra cushion due to joints so I’m just trying to accommodate a happy medium. I looked at the double ring d loops by balanced body and I could attach handles to so it would function like the handle and straps.

      You are so welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Just remember teaser isn't the end all be all of pilates. I like to use it as an tool to show me what's weak, strong, tight etc. plus there are so many fun variations xx~LL

    • @OnlinePilatesClasses
      @OnlinePilatesClasses  4 года назад

      great question! I have a video in my try this tuesday series that shows how you roll up into the position with out extending the legs. Basically you would be in a rolling like a ball position and then roll up into the teaser. Let me know if you can't find it. xx~LL
