Well, this was very informative AND entertaining! AND timing was perfect without tons of lag time or moments where I usually think “just get on with it!” On other videos. Glad I found your channel and will be back for more! Thanks!
I loved this video, I’ve just got my hat press last Saturday and you not only gave me inspiration for my hats, but also made my morning lighter and happier with all the fun I had just watching it. Thanks Roy, you rock.
so glad I found your channel. Just placed an Alibaba order for tumblers and this video was linked to that video so I thought I would check it out. I recently sublimated some trucker hats and thought the same thing as you. Did not like the foamy quality and it didn't really look like a hat I or my husband would wear. I only bought 12 to try and the first 3 were failures as I learned the time and temp for my heat press. I thought that the only way to salvage them would be to vinyl over them with dark colors or sew a patch over the failed sublimation images. Thanks to your video, I now have another option that I like even better. I will check out my hobby lobby on the way home to see if they have the supplies. Thanks again for all your information and sound advice.
Some people use E-6000 and swear by it. I just like the way the adhesive makes it more like a real patch! My advice on a hat patch. Get a decent one from a place like Heat Press Nation or Pro World and not Amazon or EBay. Mine is a pain. Thank you for watching!
Thanks for this video now I’m heading to hobby lobby. I’m thinking they might have something like this siser adhesive there as well because I want to make something now lol
Hi. I love your videos and this was especially great. Loving the hair!!. Do you just sell the patches?. I don't have a printer . I sublimate tumblers but I buy the wraps and use the convection oven.
Hey! Thank you! I don’t sell the patches, and it’s interesting, I’ll be doing an updated sublimation patches for hats and other things this month (or early next month!). I haven’t thought about selling them, but maybe I could. Let me think about that. I’ll address it in the video! Thanks for watching!
Went to hobby lobby and bought the material followed your steps but I’m really having hard time fraying the edges. Is there certain way to press the design on the fabric so it will fray better? Yours looks awesome mine not so good. Awesome video
Yes, fraying is challenging! I found that seeing the edges helped, along with trying to individually grab each strand and pull the length. Of, and patience! Thanks for watching!
Thanks so much! I get my hats from a variety of places, from Blank Apparel to KBethos, Amazon and even a bunch of clearance hats from Walmart! Thanks for watching!
Welcome to the wonderful (and often frustrating) world of sublimation! Yes, paper matters. Check out my sub paper comparison video. ruclips.net/video/YEiBDrb4Ss8/видео.html (I used regular paper in the test, and I don’t recommend it!) Thanks for watching!
Hey, Lisa! Thank you! Yes, I use an Epson Workforce 7710 inkjet printer “converted” to use sublimation ink. The sublimation ink turns into a gas when heated and fuses into the material, so it’s not sitting on top like vinyl. Thanks for watching!
I'm down under so not sure if the easyweed adhesive is available here found this is it the correct adhesive Siser EasyPSV Transfer Tape Paper Clear Roll with Grid for Self Adhesive Craft Vinyl (12" x 10 Feet) cheers Patrick
Patrick, I’m not sure. I’m not overly familiar with the different options. I researched and found the one I used in the video. For any others, I suggest finding one you can get, then research if it will work. I’m sorry I can’t be of any better help. Thanks for watching!
Great info But I have a Question. So if you’ve already sublimated the ink on the material, aren’t you just applying the patch to the hat through the glue process in the last step? Easier to do with a small iron if that’s what you are truly doing.
Yes, you’re absolutely right, you’re just applying heat to the adhesive to get it to bond with the hat. I used to use an iron, but it took several minutes to get all the sections, and it was an endurance test for me to push down with a lot of pressure for several hats! I actually originally purchased an iron just for that! I definitely prefer a press over an iron. There are also people out there that use fabric glue to apply them as well. I can’t vouch for that process, but I’ve been told it works great. Thanks for watching!

Well now I need to go to hobby lobby so I can make some hats. Thank you for this very informative and detailed video.
Thank YOU! I’m glad it helped!

So glad I could help! I stopped by a Hobby Lobby a month or so ago, and they had it, so you should be in luck. Thanks for watching!
Great video! Loved the hair! This was by far one of the most informative and easy to follow videos on subbing I have watched.
I’m so glad to hear! Thanks for watching! (And yes,the hair is art!)
Another great video! I'll definitely be saving to use as a reference. Thanks for taking the time to share!

I love your videos & loved this intro!
You don’t know how much that means coming from you! You’re my inspiration!

Hello, new to your channel really love your content! Question tho, where do you buy your hats from please?
Thanks so much! I get my hats from a variety of places, from Blank Apparel to KBethos, Amazon and even a bunch of clearance hats from Walmart! Thanks for watching!
Great video 😁
Thank you! And thanks for watching!
Great job 👏
Thanks so much! And thanks for watching!
What kind of printer do you use. Thank for the tips love it
Hey! J have an Epson WF-7710. It’s 2 years old, so I’m looking at an Epson F170 or F570, or an Epson ET-15000. Thanks for watching!
Thank you I want make hats now
Right?! The only frustrating part is fraying. I think it’s important to do the fraying, I just do T like if! Thanks for watching!
New to sublimation… is there a specific paper you use, or is it just the special ink?

Using the adhesive backing - should this not prevent any further fraying, therefore not having to use Fray check liquid?
It may, but not necessarily. Since I sell them, I decided it was best to just add the antifray. Just to make sure! Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed the video.😀
Thanks so much! And thanks for watching!
Great video! Did you print using an inkjet printer?

How many washes can these heat pressed patches endure/last???
Basically asking for shelf life of these affixed patches!
Great video! I’m sure you scared the mess out of kids with that creepy mask
I think I freaked out a few people with that thing! Thanks for watching!
I didn’t see what size you made your patch.
Hi is it real burlap or faux burlap
Hey, Diana, it’s called “New Linen,” and it’s polyester, so it would be a synthetic linen. I hope that answers your question! Thanks for watching!
Lol. I love that mask. Wht a hoot. 😂
Thanks! When I wore it,No got lots of look!
What font did you use please
Hey, the font is Amatic SC Bold.
@@industrialfringe953 thank you so much

You know, there’s a fine line between funny and coo-coo!
